Sonya comes to see Brennan, telling him how she slapped Naomi and how she's been trying to seduce Toadie for months. Sonya's so wound up that she seems pretty much ready to give Brennan a slapping too just for being there, but she just about refrains! Brennan tries to warn Sonya that Naomi's now living with him, but she's too busy telling her story. Sonya says she knows violence isn't the answer, but that for a moment it felt really good. At that moment, Naomi walks in.
SONYA: What are you doing here?!
NAOMI: I live here!
BRENNAN: I was trying to tell you... Sonya!
Sonya marches out, slamming the door behind her.
Ramsay Street
Sonya marches across the street angrily, leaving Matt bemused when she very half-heartedly returns his morning wave. Bailey has received a large parcel in the post, which on opening turns out to be a rather expensive reflector telescope. Unlike Bailey's existing, inferior refractor model, it uses mirrors so that there's no chromatic aberration. Matt looks bemused, again.
BAILEY: It's basically the best there is on the market.
Bailey checks the billing address, and realises the telescope is a present from Lauren's mother Kathy, whom he admits to Matt has been ringing Bailey every now and then to see how he's doing. Bailey insists he never asked her for the telescope, but might have mentioned it. He's now worried Lauren will make him send it back, however, due to her ongoing feud with Kathy over the secret adoption of her and Brad's daughter. Matt sneakily suggests Bailey find somewhere to hide the telescope, while he thinks about a way to approach the issue with Lauren.

Sonya's about to tell Toadie about her slapping Naomi, but hell has broken loose due to Nell having come down with gastro. They both set to work cleaning up the mess!
No 26
Kyle and Georgia are discussing catering for the wedding. She's identified a caterer, Hans, with whom she believes she can secure a good deal on their basic menu requirements.
CHRIS: Whatever you do, don't go in there and gush. You want him to think that you don't want him.
GEORGIA: But I do want him!
CHRIS: Yes, but he can't know that. Otherwise it's his advantage.
KYLE: Yeah, negotiating basics, babe.
CHRIS: But more importantly, do not tell him that it's for a wedding. Otherwise he'll bump up the price by, like, 20%.
Kyle and Georgia leave, and Sheila comes in. There's a load of post for Naomi, and Chris reveals to Sheila that Naomi is still living next door. He also tells her that Naomi ripped up the cheque Sheila gave her.

Naomi is applying make-up to hide the mark from Sonya's slap.
BRENNAN: It must have hurt.
NAOMI: Nothing a layer of foundation can't fix.
Sheila marches in unannounced, confronting Naomi about ripping up the cheque and deciding to stay. Brennan tries to escape to mow the lawn, but Sheila shoves him back into his seat again!
SHEILA: All the trouble you've caused, I've a good mind to drag you out by the ear and strap you to the next bus!
NAOMI: Oh, please! I've already been attacked by one crazy lady today.
SHEILA: It wasn't Sonya, was it?
NAOMI: It's not important.
Naomi beats a hasty retreat, and Brennan tries to follow but Sheila once again sits him down and demands answers!
Lassiter's Complex
Bailey is on the phone to Josie Lamb asking her to stash his telescope at her place, but she doesn't think her mums will be keen. Paige walks by and overhears, asking Bailey if he stole it!
PAIGE: Well, you can't blame me for asking. You do have form.
Paige is curious as to why Lauren can't know about the telescope; Bailey simply says it's 'complicated family business'. Intrigued, Paige tells Bailey he can hide it at her house. She tells him to pop by later.
The Waterhole
Georgia meets Kyle, after her meeting with Hans the caterer, who charmed her into agreeing to a much pricier menu for the wedding than the one they had in mind!
KYLE: Warm goose mousseline stuffed with sorrel and Roquefort? Babe, I don't even know what half of these things are!
Georgia admits she mentioned it was a wedding, and a fuming Kyle marches off to confront Hans himself, claiming that negotiating is a blokes' game!
Shortly afterwards, Kyle's back, having been charmed himself into agreeing both to the pricey menu and installing decking for Hans for next to nothing!
GEORGIA (mimicking Kyle): Oh, good thing negotiating's a blokes' game, babe (!)
Kyle suggests they ditch Hans and call out for pizza instead, but Georgia's expression says it all.

Sonya is about to head out to get supplies for Nell, when Sheila turns up, wanting to talk about her 'run-in' with Naomi. Not keen for Toadie to hear what happened from Sheila, Sonya suggests they talk about it outside; but Sheila keeps talking, and reveals to a shocked Toadie how Sonya slapped Naomi.
Sonya says she feels terrible, but that Naomi was really goading her - indeed, she still can't stop thinking about what she said.
SHEILA: I understand, believe you me. It's just that, now she's foolishly decided to stay - I don't want it happening again.
SONYA: What, me slapping her?!
SHEILA: I'm sure you can appreciate that.
SONYA: Yeah. Of course I can.
SHEILA: Then I've said all I need to say.
Sheila leaves. Sonya asks if Toadie's angry; he shakes his head and says they can talk about it when she gets back from the shops, before disappearing to tend to Nell.
Ramsay Street
Naomi is getting into Brennan's car when Sonya taps on the window, wanting to talk to her.
NAOMI: I'm not stealing the car - Brennan said I could use it.
But Sonya isn't interested in that.
SONYA: I want to apologise. I was out of line.
NAOMI: Yeah, you were. But I don't blame you. If a hotter woman kissed my husband, I'd slap her too.
Retaining her composure, Sonya asks why Naomi thought she had a chance with Toadie. Naomi says she could see Sonya's neglect of Toadie 'written all over his face every day'.
NAOMI: He was so desperate for someone to be there for him. Because that's what you do when you care for somebody - you see what they need and you give it to them.
SONYA: No. See, when you really care about somebody you don't manipulate them by twisting a situation to your advantage.
NAOMI: The situation shouldn't have been there to be twisted.
SONYA: Okay, I acknowledge that there are problems in my marriage that I need to work on.
NAOMI: Better late than never, I suppose.
SONYA: ... You know what, this is pointless. It's pointless. You're childish. And you're toxic. And you're gonna stay the hell away from my family.
Naomi winds up the window.
The Waterhole
Kyle and Georgia are now trying to get Chris and Brennan to negotiate with Hans the caterer on their behalf.
GEORGIA: we're too emotionally involved.
KYLE: And this guy is the negotiating ninja, okay? He will charge you fifty bucks just to walk through his door.
CHRIS: How long have you guys known me? I'm a pushover; the guy'll wipe the floor with me.
With Brennan not keen either, Chris suggests they need someone who knows the business, is 'big and brash, and can mow down Hans like a monster truck'. Enter Sheila.
SHEILA (to magazine-reading barmaid): Hey! You've got time to lean, you've got time to clean. Get on with it!
Chris makes monster truck noises.

Bailey is setting up the telescope from Kathy in the front room. Paige questions him about it while subtly taking notes. He tells her that Kathy is Lauren's mum, and that they had a huge fight in March and haven't spoken since - which is why Lauren can't know about the telescope, as she'd make him send it back.
PAIGE: Must have been a pretty big fight, then?
BAILEY: Yeah. It was massive. I mean, I don't blame Mum for not talking to Nan, but... she's still my nan. You know? So I talk to her on the phone in secret. I just wish it didn't have to be like that.
Bailey's about to leave, but Paige encourages him to stay, hoping to learn more.
The Waterhole
Kyle, Georgia, Chris and Brennan play darts, while awaiting Sheila's return from Hans the caterer. She comes in.
SHEILA: I had Hans eating out of my hands.
She's secured everything they wanted for $25 per head - a quarter of what Hans was quoting for his posh menu. Kyle and Georgia are so impressed, that they ask if Sheila could also negotiate on their behalf with the cake shop and the DJ, etc.
No 24
Paige asks Bailey if the fight with Kathy had anything to do with Lauren's missing daughter. Bailey quickly blurts out the whole story - how the Turners didn't know the daughter even existed, because Kathy let Lauren believe she'd died, but had her secretly adopted out.
PAIGE: Wait. So if your nana hadn't done that, and Lauren knew that the baby was alive, do you think she would have kept it?
BAILEY: Of course! Why do you think they're not talking? It's Nan's fault.
The Waterhole
The gang are still playing darts when Sheila returns again from her additional negotiations. She reveals she's saved them another thousand dollars! But they're not so pleased when she reveals the details - she's negotiated away their preferred mudcake for a fruitcake!
SHEILA: And as for the music, well, you'll be thrilled to know I got it for nothing!
KYLE: What, did you tell the DJ we were a charity case?
SHEILA: Oh, no, he wasn't going to reduce his rates. So I had to go back to the drawing board - and you know, I've always thought that weddings need live music.
KYLE: What live music did you get for nothing?
SHEILA: Err, The Right Prescription.
CHRIS: I might go and get another beer.
BRENNAN: Yeah, I'm gonna go home.
SHEILA: I know you probably weren't thinking along those lines, but the advantage of having Karl is that he might let you sing a few numbers!
GEORGIA: Oh, you want me to sing at my own wedding?!
SHEILA: Oh, yeah, it's a lovely touch, don't you think?
Kyle argues that this wasn't what they wanted, but Sheila insists that 'Gran knows best'.
Lassiter's Complex
Brennan talks to Sonya, apologising for letting Naomi stay - he would never have agreed to it if he'd known what she'd done. Sonya says it's alright, apologising herself and saying that she overreacted. He invites her for a coffee, but Sonya says she has to get back to Nell, as she's sick. Brennan suggests tomorrow instead, but Sonya says she needs some time to get her head around things, and can't see him for a while. Brennan offers to kick Naomi out, but Sonya says she just needs to spend more time with her family.
SONYA: I hate to admit it but Naomi was right about some things. Jarrod and I, we need to make some changes. I mean, you get it, don't you?
BRENNAN: Of course.
They hug, and Sonya tells him he's been a great friend. Brennan looks sad as she walks away.
No 30
Sonya comes in and talks to Toadie, who's managed to put Nell to bed for now.
SONYA: I've apologised to Naomi. But she said some things, and I think I've realised how this has happened.
TOADIE: Okay...
SONYA: Well, Naomi did what she did because she saw that we were broken. You know, it gave her an opportunity, and...
TOADIE: No. No, we're not broken. We might be having a bit of a rough time of late. But we are committed to each other.
SONYA: I know. But you have to admit things have changed between us. I mean, we're just not having fun like we used to.
TOADIE: Is that what she said?
SONYA: Well she said that she brings you up, and I just drag you down.
TOADIE: That is not true.
SONYA: Are you sure? Because, I mean, I feel like I've failed you.
TOADIE: No. Okay, we're both to blame in this.
SONYA: I'm just sorry that we don't laugh together anymore like we used to, and that I haven't been there for you. And I want our marriage to be the priority. So I've decided to stop doing my blog, and I'm not going to convene the meetings anymore.
TOADIE: If that's what you want.
SONYA: It is.
TOADIE: Okay. And I have decided to cut back on work, and be the part-time lawyer that I always planned on being. Because I love you, and I want our marriage to last forever.
SONYA: I love you too.
They kiss and hug. They hear Nell calling from the other room, and go arm in arm to look after her together.
No 24
Paige is looking at the two teddy bears, but hides them when Brennan comes in. He asks after the telescope; she explains it's Bailey's but doesn't go into the details. Brennan's relieved to hear that Naomi isn't home, as she has 'upset a friend of mine' and would rather wait till tomorrow to see her when he'll be less angry.
PAIGE: I couldn't be that nice. If someone hurts me or someone else I care about, I have to get to the bottom of it. I need to know exactly what happened - what they did and why they did it. And if it's worse than I think it is, I want to make them suffer.
BRENNAN: Look, I know that it sounds lame. But forgiveness is the best path, believe me.
PAIGE: Not for me. Get answers, then get revenge. Simple as that.
