Lassiters Complex
Chris catches up with Sonya. He says he appreciates her not saying anything about Hudson to his mum, and would appreciate it if she could keep not saying anything to her. Sonya says dishonesty leads to trouble. Chris thinks his parents will freak out when they learn Hudson is in prison. Sonya says it seems to be getting more and more difficult for him and will only get worse. Chris says it isn't really any of her business, and he'll handle it.
Number 30
Sonya reads a few printed pages on 'Understanding Anonymity.' Georgia arrives and slumps into the chair sadly. Sonya heard about what happened with the earrings. Sonya is surprised Georgia is taking it so hard, she thought she didn't feel that way about Kyle. Georgia admits she'd like her and Kyle to be a family but she can't trust him. Sonya asks if she thinks Kyle has learned from his mistakes, though Georgia says she's learned from hers. Even if they don't have a future together, she doesn't want Kyle to think that she threw his gift away. Sonya says on the bright side he doesn't know she sold them.
Charlie's
Kyle looks at Georgia's earrings. Chris arrives and tells Kyle about Sonya finding out that he hasn't told his parents about Hudson. Kyle is astounded, and says Chris is always the first one to lecture people about being honest. Chris gets it, he's a hypocrite and he feels terrible. Kyle wonders how he managed to lie about it, Hudson's arrest was in the papers. Chris says it was just down to luck and when he realised they hadn't seen it in the news, he didn't fill them in. Chris wonders if he should tell them. Kyle says Chris hasn't seen his parents much lately. Chris doesn't want to ruin things with them, especially since he and his dad are in a good place. He has no idea what he's going to do.
Harold's
Susan tells Karl he's being paranoid. He says if you owe Paul Robinson a favour you should look over your shoulder every few minutes, to which Susan jokingly looks over Karl's shoulder.
SUSAN: I'm sure it's not going to be that bad.
KARL: Uh huh.
SUSAN: I'm pretty sure it's not going to be that bad. Well I'm not sure, but I'm 50/50, they're still pretty good odds.
KARL: Thank you, I feel totally reassured.
Susan says Karl can't believe that Paul arranged the whole thing with the permit just so he could be in his debt, but Karl wouldn't put anything past Paul. He gets a text message, from Paul.
KARL: I've been summoned to his tower. ASAP.
SUSAN: Good luck, nice knowing you.
As Karl leaves, Susan sees Karl didn't finish his cake so takes it for herself.
Lassiters Penthouse
Paul tells Karl about the Twin Cities program, and he thinks it would be perfect for Erinsborough. He wants to start a new relationship with a foreign city. He would like Karl to help put the pitch together, and he can choose which three foreign cities should be nominated. Karl wonders why Paul wants him to do this, doesn't he have an army of bureaucrats working for him? Paul says this isn't a job for local government typing monkeys, it requires intelligence. He knows Paul wants the best for this suburb, why else would he run against him for mayor? Besides, Karl owes Paul. Karl agrees, Paul says he'll have to write the pitch, researching each of the potential twin cities, and work out the costs involved. Karl says it's doable and worthwhile, and asks what the catch is. Paul assures Karl there is no catch, there's no angle, and asks if he's in or not? Karl says he's in and shakes Paul's hand.
Number 30
Georgia asks Kyle if he wants to come to the obstetrician appointment with her. Kyle doesn't seem enthused and asks if she really needs him there? He's snappy when she questions if he's really interested in going. Kyle says if she wants him to come he'll come, whatever.
Community Centre
Sonya welcomes people as they arrive for the GA meeting, while she looks around waiting for Patricia. While she looks outside she bumps into Susan. Sonya tells Susan that she's waiting for someone who promised they would show. They were in an awkward situation earlier and she was stressed out and Sonya didn't get a chance to reassure her. Susan says it will be a shame if she doesn't show up, but that part is up to her, it's out of Sonya's hands. Let's hope she's just running late.
Number 30
Georgia is complaining about Kyle, while Sonya is looking on her laptop, not really listening. Georgia says the one time she lets him in, and Kyle's not interested. Sonya still isn't listening, then apologises and closes her laptop, and asks Georgia to continue. Sonya asks if she's done anything to annoy Kyle, and if she wants to know what's going on she should find him and act. Sonya decides to follow her own advice and tells Georgia she has to go.
Charlie's
Sonya meets Chris and says hi, asking if he's going around to his parents for dinner. Sonya says he should go, his mum didn't stop talking about him all through lunch. Sonya asks where they live and wonders if she could get his mum's number. Chris gets defensive, and wonders why she wants his mum's number. She says they got on quite well and would want to catch up again. Chris asks if she's going to tell her about Hudson, Sonya sincerely says she wouldn't. Chris says he has Sonya's number and he'll pass it on.
Harold's
Susan reads the details of the Twin City project on a laptop, and agrees with Karl that it sounds like a good idea, and not very Paul-like. Karl wonders what Paul's hidden agenda is.
KARL: I feel like I'm a bear. I can smell the honey, I know it's not right, but I can't stop myself walking into the trap.
SUSAN: So you're Winnie the Pooh in this scenario, are you?
KARL: Pretty much.
Susan says Paul's motives can't be financial as there doesn't seem to be any money in this at all, it's just about promoting the two cities. Karl wonders if he had a contact in one of the cities to do dodgy deals, but then why would he leave it up to Karl to decide on the city? Karl asks if it is possible that Paul wanted to be mayor to do good things. They ponder it for a second, then laugh it off.
Charlie's
Sheila asks Georgia how she could be so callous for selling Kyle's earrings. If she thinks Kyle would be okay with that, then she's naive. Georgia asks if she bought them or if she still has them. Sheila doesn't have them, Kyle bought them. Georgia says she didn't mean to sell them and realises that Kyle thinks she sold them because she doesn't want anything to do with him. Sheila says it broke his heart.
Harold's
Georgia finds Kyle sitting gloomily in the corner reading. She tells him that she knows about the earrings, and assures him they were never meant to be sold. Whatever happened between them, she would never sell those earrings. Kyle says it doesn't matter now. Georgia says it does matter, she would want to pass those earrings on to their daughter if they had one. It would be nice to have a keepsake from her father, a memento. Kyle is disappointed. Georgia starts to say about what they mean to her, but Kyle cuts her off before she gets a chance. Georgia says she's sorry about a lot of things. Kyle says he'll drop them off to her later, so Georgia leaves.
Number 30
Sonya and Susan are holding up Nell's toys.
SUSAN: Okay, let me see if I've got this right.
SONYA: Yeah, go, go.
SUSAN: Captain Fugglesworth is on a secret mission that none of the other toys can know about.
SONYA: That's right.
SUSAN: Except Princess Pumpernickel, who is you.
SONYA: Yes
SUSAN: And Princess Pumpernickel, you, does know about the mission, and she's trying to make contact with Captain Fugglesworth but she doesn't know how to.
SONYA: Correct.
SUSAN: So Princess Pumpernickel, you, has to get Captain Fugglesworth's contact details via his pet dog, Bruce.
SONYA: Yes
SUSAN: And Princess Pumpernickel, you, has to get the contact details from Bruce without revealing the secret mission to Bruce.
SONYA: Yes, or anybody else. Exactly. So... do you have any thoughts on that?
(Susan thinks about it carefully)
SUSAN: Well, my advice would be to get the other toys who are in contact with Captain Fugglesworth to maybe phone Princess Pumpernickel, who, who is you. Or Bruce could maybe... (she looks confused at Nell's toys) It's very complicated!
SONYA: Yes, it is, it is. And I can't talk to anyone else about her, I mean, no, Captain Fugglesworth.
SUSAN: Why?
SONYA: Well if I could tell you then we wouldn't be talking through Nell's toys, would we?
(Susan looks confused at the toys again)
SUSAN: I don't think I can help you.
SONYA: No, I don't think you can either.
SUSAN: On a lighter note, you've certainly given Nell's toys some very strange names.
SONYA: No, I didn't, Jarrod did.
SUSAN: Of course he did.
SONYA: If only there was another toy that I could go to, somebody that knows Bruce. Kyle! No, no, no, Croc. Yes, you're a genius!
Sonya excitedly makes the toy crocodile kiss Bruce repeatedly, while making kissing noises. Susan looks utterly bewildered.
Harold's
Sonya tells Kyle about how well she got on with Patricia and she was wondering if he had Patricia's number, just as Chris walks in and overhears.
CHRIS: Why are you interfering like this?
SONYA: I'm not interfering.
CHRIS: Then why do you want my mum's number?
KYLE: Oh, this is about Hudson, isn't it?
SONYA: No, no, no!
KYLE: I'll leave you guys to it. (Kyle leaves)
CHRIS: Of course it is. I know is wrong that I'm lying, I do, but you sticking your nose in like this is not going to help so it stops now.
SONYA: Chris.
CHRIS: I will tell my parents when I am ready to, not before, and when I do, I don't need your help doing it.
Lassiters Penthouse
Karl arrives with the pitch for the Twin Cities project and he's selected three nominated cities: Savannah US, Manchester UK and Toulon France. Karl leaves the application forms with Paul to read through and sign. Karl says he should write a cover letter, but Paul says he'll do that. Karl's not surprised that he does all the hard work and Paul puts his name on it. Paul says he'll put in a mention of all the work that Karl's done. Karl wants to know what is really going on. Paul assures him there is no hidden agenda, and thanks Karl for his hard work, and if he needs him again he'll let him know. Karl thought they were square, but Paul says we'll see about that. Karl takes the lift down.
Paul finishes the covering letter, forging Karl's signature at the bottom. We then reveal the top of the letter, addressed to Rebecca Napier, Project Liaison for Twin Cities. Paul takes a box out of his drawer, opening it and takes out a photo of him and Rebecca. He admires it, and then takes out a box containing his wedding ring which he touches thoughtfully. He puts the box down and smiles.
