Ramsay Street
Amber walks home from school, receiving a text from Clay, saying 'C U tonight.' Amber doesn't seem too thrilled about it. Meanwhile Josh is getting mail from the mailbox when he sees Amber. He tries to hide, but she spots him and says hi. Josh assures her he's not trying to avoid her. She asks if they can try to be friends. He says everything's fine between them, however he's a bit cold and aloof with her. As Josh heads back to his house, Amber replies to Clay's text, saying 'Can't wait - see you then.' She still doesn't seem happy about it though.
Number 28
Holly tells Karl about some of the words Izzy uses, such as chips instead of crisps and pants instead of trousers. Karl gets a message from the hospital, and he has to go in today. He apologises to Holly but tells her Susan will look after her. Holly says that's okay, and she's going to go have a lie down just now. After Holly leaves, Susan tells Karl that Holly doesn't want her around, and told her to 'bite me.' Karl doesn't believe it, and blames it on the jet lag. He puts it down to Holly being in new surroundings. Susan thinks he's probably right, she just wanted Karl to know, she can handle it.
Lucas and Vanessa's flat
Vanessa and Lucas argue about the apartment. Lucas is surprised that Vanessa changed her mind so quickly when she told him to go for it earlier that day. Vanessa tells him that the Turner family were planning to have another baby. Lucas says they can't factor the Turners into their plans, and he's signed the contract anyway so they have to go ahead with it. Vanessa tells him to find a way out of this.
Harold's
Lucas has a meeting with his lawyer, Jarrod Rebecchi, in his office, and Mr Rebecchi is wearing a professional looking suit as you would expect. Just kidding, the meeting is at Harold's of course, and Toadie is wearing shorts and t- shirt for his important meetings, as usual. Lucas shows Toadie the contract, and Toadie says he can't get out of it without losing his deposit. Toadie wonders why he paid so much. Lucas says he got carried away. Lucas tells Toadie about Vanessa changing her mind about the apartments after speaking to the Turners. Lucas asks if there's anything they can do, Toadie says there is one thing.
Charlie's
Vanessa's meeting is a little more professional, it's in Charlie's for one thing, and Paul is wearing his usual suit jacket and open collared shirt combo. Vanessa tells Paul they're not in a position to go ahead with the purchase of the apartment. She says they're not prepared to sell the house in Ramsay Street, as they want the Turners to stay. Paul says there are two options, come up with the balance for the apartment, or forfeit their deposit.
PAUL: Vanessa, I have no time for bleeding hearts; you should know that about me just now.
Yes you should Vanessa, don't know why you bothered. Paul doesn't either. While Vanessa looks shocked, Paul coldly asks why she's still here. Vanessa leaves.
Number 28
Susan brings Holly some afternoon tea. Holly asks when her daddy is coming back. She says he shouldn't be too long. Susan suggests they go for a walk, she could show her the neighbourhood.
HOLLY: I didn't come all the way here to hang out with an old lady.
SUSAN: Old lady?
HOLLY: Yeah, you! You're old. Not young and fun like my mum.
Toadie comes to the door, and says he wanted to meet Holly. Susan introduces her to him. Holly asks when Karl is back, and when Susan says he won't be too long, Holly gives Susan a death stare before heading to her room.
TOADIE: If looks could kill
SUSAN: I'd rather she glared at me than called me an old lady
TOADIE: She did not!
SUSAN: She did!
TOADIE: That's so not cool
SUSAN: Well I'm so not cool, obviously. Teenage angst I can handle, but 8 year olds. I can't even remember when Libby was 8. Obviously it's because I'm such an old lady.
TOADIE: I doubt it has anything to do with you anyway. You're the wicked stepmother; it's a classic Disney scenario.
Number 22 (Back Yard)
Josh is lifting weights while Imogen waters the plants. Josh asks how things are between Amber and 'mud' as he calls him. Imogen says that Amber and Clay are going on a date tonight. Imogen says he should stop sulking as it's not like he'd have time for Amber, he says he'd make time. She asks if he knows what damage he does to these girls.
IMOGEN: Most people have these crazy little things called feelings.
JOSH: And you think I don't?
IMOGEN: I'm sure you do, but all of your feelings are about yourself, leaving girl of the month way down on the list.
Josh insists it would have been different with Amber, he never liked those girls the way he liked her. Imogen tells him he had his chance and he blew it. Imogen tells him that the pool is always going to be his number one, and Amber needs someone who will be there.
Harold's
At Harold's, Margie slaves around both in the kitchen and serving customers in the background, while Lauren chats with Brad. Lauren tells him she thought she'd have to move out of Ramsay Street, but it looks like she may be able to stay after all. Brad is pleased, as he doesn't want to lose his favourite neighbours. Lauren smiles pleased, and for a moment Brad looks confused by her reaction, but then says that he shouldn't let Sheila hear him say that as she considers him to be number one eye candy on the street.
Lauren has to leave and help Amber prepare for her date later. She wants to make a big deal about first dates, and how to make the right impression. Brad thinks he should read up on this to give advice to Josh, but it's always been about the swimming with him. Lauren says he's a teenage boy and it is never just about the swimming.
Lucas and Vanessa's flat
Paul comes around, and says he's willing to make an offer on #32. He shows Lucas the contract. Lucas is insulted by the price he's offering, as Paul knows Lucas is in a tight spot financially. Paul tells him to be realistic about the price, Vanessa is determined to help the Turners out, and Paul would be happy to rent to them. It will be a win- win situation for everyone.
Number 28 (Night Time)
Holly hasn't touched her food, instead she asks Susan if she can watch TV. Susan says she's watched enough for today. Karl returns home, and Holly rushes up to hug him. Holly asks Karl if she can watch a DVD. Karl agrees and asks her to get it.
With Holly out of the room, Susan tells Karl that Holly's watched enough TV today. At this stage Holly is testing the limits, and she'll see Karl as a pushover. Karl doesn't think it's a problem if his daughter wants to watch a bit too much TV on her first day. Susan agrees, but tells Karl to think about boundaries as otherwise the next few weeks will be a disaster.
Number 32
Amber shows her outfit for her date to Imogen and Lauren. Lauren hopes that Clay is a nice guy, and starts asking about him, telling Amber to go slowly. Amber says she doesn't need the talk, but Lauren says she missed out on the talk when Amber was secretly dating Robbo, and Josh. Amber looks at the time and says she has to go. They're just going to Harold's, nothing bad can happen there.
Lucas and Vanessa's flat
Lucas explains to Vanessa that he had to turn down Paul's offer. They hope Paul will come back with a fairer price, and then the Turners can rent from him. Vanessa says he'll make their lives hell. Vanessa hopes there is another way to get out of the deal, it doesn't feel right. Lucas says this is because she's worrying about other people, not them. Vanessa starts crying, she apologises, she just wants things to stay the way they are.
Harold's
Josh comes in and sits down, watching Amber and Clay on their date. Clay asks Amber if she's okay, Amber's worried about the top she's wearing, but Clay says she looks hot, and Amber says he looks hot too. Josh walks over and stands over them, he says he just wants to say hi. Clay offers to shake Josh's hand, but Josh just stands there. Amber explains that Josh lives across the street. Clay wonders what's going on, but Josh just stands there, staring, before eventually leaving. Clay says that was weird.
Dingoes Gym
Josh is weightlifting furiously, as you expect whenever a man has some issues to deal with. Brad tells him to slow down or he'll hurt himself, and wonders what is going on in Josh's private life. Josh admits that Amber's started seeing another guy. He just acted like a lunatic in front of her, and she'll hate him for it. Josh says she wants her back, but she's moved on. Brad says that she's just gone on one date, and if he's serious about her, he should talk to her, otherwise he'll lose her for good.
Number 28
Karl leaves his room and is surprised to find Holly sitting watching TV. She says she couldn't sleep, she misses her mum. Whenever she closes her eyes she gets sad, her mum's so far away and it hurts. Karl understands and suggests they call Izzy tomorrow. Holly wants to stay up a little bit longer, Karl agrees, and he'll stay with her. They hug and watch the TV.
Somewhere
Clay and Amber are kissing in his car. Amber says it's late and she should go home (she checks her phone and it's 8.55) Clay tells her to stop stressing, he knows her dad is a cop. Clay says they should stay for a few more minutes. he starts kissing her again and puts his hand on her leg, moving it up her thigh. She pushes his hand away and tells him its not going to happen. He puts his hand on her thigh again, and she pushes his hand away and tells him to take her home.
CLAY: Talk about an overreaction.
AMBER: Hasn't anyone ever told you that no means no?
CLAY: I thought we were having fun.
AMBER: Yeah well we're not anymore. So please, take me home.
CLAY: Not until you calm down.
She leaves the car and says she'll figure out her own way home. As Clay drives off, she realises she's left her phone in her car. She calls after him but he drives off.
Somewhere else
Amber is still walking home when she spots a parked car ahead of her, with someone inside. The cars lights go on, and the man in the car walks out, and into the light. It's Robbo.
Tomorrow On Neighbours
