Number 30
Callum is eagerly happy to help his parents around the house with chores, though Toadie is quick to work out he's avoiding going to the CPR course with Bailey and Rani. Sonya reminds him that it will get easier, and the course is important. Callum doesn't see why, given he saved Bailey last week, but reluctantly admits defeat to his parents and agrees to go.
Toadie is keen to celebrate a now empty day with Sonya, but she has already planned to go and meet Walter at the garden centre. Toadie is surprised as she wasn't due to work today, but supportive of his wife's decision to get to know her uncle a bit better.
Charlie's
Walter is impressed with Sheila's breakfast and jokes that he may be back for more. She is pleasantly surprised to hear he still wants to be friends with her. He admits it was hard to pluck up the courage to speak with Sonya, but is grateful for her encouragement. He reveals he's not in any rush to leave Erinsborough. Sheila brings him his bill, but Walter claims he can't find his wallet. Sheila tells him not to worry as she'll cover this one for him, but as he heads off to meet with Sonya, his wallet is clearly in his pocket.
Erinsborough Hospital
Bailey tries to make conversation with Callum as they wait for Georgia to arrive for the CPR course. Callum isn't interested and ignores Bailey's questions. Georgia arrives and sensing the tension in the room, asks the boys for a bit of enthusiasm about the course. Callum asks Georgia how many people she has resuscitated and she admits a few. Bailey wonders if it's really gross, like an old man with a beard.
GEORGIA: Well, it's not like kissing.
CALLUM: It's a bit like kissing.
The boys are keen to know if she has zapped someone with the paddles, and Georgia reveals she has, but they won't be covering defibrillation today.
GEORGIA: That's something different and very dangerous.
CALLUM: Can you cook toast with them?
GEORGIA: Well, actually a couple of us tried that in our first year of uni. Trust me, it was a bad idea.
Rani arrives, and the tension immediately turns awkward with both boys refusing to make eye contact with her. Georgia quickly announces they should get started.
Number 22 backyard.
Josh returns from training and Brad asks how things went. Josh is very non committal, but says everything was fine. Brad offers to get him some breakfast, but Josh informs his dad he can handle it himself and heads inside.
In the kitchen, Imogen wonders why her brother was being so blunt to their dad. He admits Don told him he had to dump Amber as she is a distraction. Imogen asks her brother to tell her he's not going to listen and follow Don's advice, but Josh feels he has no choice. Imogen is shocked to hear that he would use Amber for a while and then just dump her when things get tough.
JOSH: That's not how it is.
IMOGEN: Well that's how it looks.
JOSH: I really like Amber, more than I've liked any girl before, but Don said it's either her or the swimming.
IMOGEN: Then dump Don; go back to Dad.
Josh doesn't feel he can back out of this now, given he was so keen to get Don in the first place. Imogen warns her brother he should dump her sooner rather than later then, as she doesn't want to see her friend get hurt, but Josh is not so sure.
Sonya's Nursery
Toadie visits Sonya and Walter at the nursery, who are busy talking plans for Christmas. He delivers them some nibbles to have with morning tea and suggests taking Sonya out for lunch later. She has to let him down again, but agrees to be home for lunch, if he cooks her a vegetable lasagne. The deal is on, and Toadie heads off with Nell again.
Erinsborough Hospital
Georgia is demonstrating CPR to Bailey, Rani and Callum. She invites them up to practise doing chest compressions. Rani is keen to have a go, but the boys are less interested. Georgia persuades Bailey to take part (it could save someone's life), but as Rani goes to show Bailey the correct position for his hands, Callum decides it's all too much and heads off.
CALLUM: Why don't you guys just perform mouth to mouth on each other; save us all a bit of time.
General Store
Toadie spots his son wandering in and enquires why he's not at the hospital session. Callum admits he couldn't cope with seeing his two friends together and so he walked out of the session. Toadie understands his son's frustration, but reassures him that things will get easier with time. Callum doesn't want to wait 20 years for things to work out.
Sonya's Nursery
Walter praises Sonya with her work at the nursery. She admits she is proud of it, especially given her past, as she's been able to prove to herself that she can do it. She informs Walter she was, she is, an addict. He apologises for not being there to help her, but she explains that she wouldn't have let him anyway; she didn't let anyone else help. The nursery has helped her to draw a line and put all her bad stuff in the past. She thanks him for being a good listener.
Walter tells Sonya a story of her father picking her up when she was a young toddler. Sonya thanks him for sharing the stories with her; she admits she wonders if her parents would be disappointed in her but Walter thinks they would be proud of her.
Lassiter's Complex
Josh is checking his messages when Amber arrives. He is touched by the healthy granola bars she has baked specially for him, but remains quiet as she suggests they spend the afternoon together. Amber enquires what is wrong, so Josh tells her he swam over his personal best time. She is surprised he'd be so quiet about it and reassures him that's it's okay to have an off day every now and then. She offers to go and grab some drinks for them, and he sits outside pondering what to do.
Over by the lake, Rani and Bailey are wondering what to do for their next step. Rani feels that there is no point in all three of them being miserable, and given their friends hip with Callum is already over, they should just get together. Bailey isn't so sure and admits when he and Callum were together on their own earlier, it felt like they could be friends again and he doesn't want to ruin his chances. Rani admits Callum would feel worse if they did get together. They agree to remain friends. Bailey heads off.
Ramsay Street
Imogen is collecting the post when Josh and Amber return. It's pretty clear they are still together; Amber admits she is on a mission to cheer Josh up after training. Amber heads off to grab some DVDs while the siblings head inside.
Number 22
Imogen is annoyed that Josh hasn't broken up with Amber, but he admits that he couldn't go through with it. Imogen wonders how he's planning on making it work if he's not quitting the swimming. He admits he feels happy when he's with Amber and doesn't want to lose her. His plan is to lie to his coach and tell him he's dumped her. Imogen doesn't think Amber will go along with a secret relationship, but Josh has no plan on telling Amber; he only has to keep it secret long enough that he can prove to Don he can keep a girlfriend and keep up his training. Imogen doesn't believe her brother's plan will work.
Number 30
Sonya and Susan arrive just as Toadie is pulling lunch out the oven. Toadie is surprised but happy enough to hear that Susan and Karl will be joining them for dinner. He's not so keen, however, to spot Walter at the door; Sonya invited him too. Susan introduces herself to Walter and they exchange pleasantries.
As they sit down to eat, Toadie remarks that the portions will be smaller as he wasn't expecting so many people. Susan offers Walter some salad so Toadie pops to grab a condiment from the kitchen. Sonya follows him through and wonders what all the snide remarks are about. Toadie thought it would just be the two of them for lunch. As Sonya asks Toadie to remain polite to their guests, Walter comes over and excuses himself; he has to go off and do something he forgot about. Sonya is frustrated with Toadie's attitude and blames him for Walter's exit.
Later on, after the food has been cleared, Toadie asks Sonya to stop giving him the cold shoulder. He understands that she wanted to integrate Walter as part of the family, but feels she's rushing into things just a bit too fast.
TOADIE: You just jump in with your whole heart; it's one of the eight million reasons why I love you, but I just think you should not rush here.
Sonya doesn't understand what the issue is. Toadie points out that Walter has only just appeared out of the blue and already getting involved in everything they do. Sonya doesn't see that as an issue and asks Toadie to accept that Walter is now a part of their life. He doesn't argue back but it's clear he's not too happy about it.
Number 28
Meanwhile, Walter quietly enters the empty Kennedy house and starts rummaging around. Finding a small amount of jewellery on the side table, he slips them into his pocket and makes his exit.
