Previously on Neighbours
- Feeling guilty about her night with Kyle, Kate flees Ramsay Street for a break in Sydney
- Amber offers to do Josh's assignment on the Chinese Revolution for him
- A word from Sheila leads Brad to conclude Paul is pursuing Terese, and he confronts them
Lassiters Complex
Terese storms out of the hotel, followed by Brad she's furious that he embarrassed her in front of the staff and the hotel ratings inspector. Brad says he knows Terese wouldnt act on it if Paul made a move on her, but Terese can only conclude that he doesn't trust her. Brad says he's an idiot.
Paul comes out to pile his own wrath on Brad, for mentioning the sexual harassment charges; god forbid anyone should accuse Paul of pursuing a married woman. He also says that, due to the inspectors presence during Brads outburst, it looks like Lassiters wont be getting back its five- star rating which will cost the community in terms of new jobs and opportunities.
Notwithstanding this nauseating guilt- trip from a man who ought to know a thing or two about guilt, Brad offers to talk to the inspector and make things right. But Terese tells him its too late, and to go home. Brad obeys.
No 26 (Kyles bedroom)
Georgia and Kyle are lying on the bed. She moans about having to go to work, and Kyle tries to persuade her to bunk off with him he's still signed off on the sick until his eyesight's fully recovered. Georgia knows something that might make him feel better, and kisses him, before straddling him and preparing to remove her top! Kyle realises the blinds are open and rushes over to close them so the neighbours can't see; but at the window, he sees Kate getting out of a taxi outside. This suddenly dampens his ardour, and he says he has to go and walk Bossy!
Ramsay Street
Outside, Kyle rushes to talk to Kate, telling her they need to get their story straight; in order to explain her sudden disappearance, he told Georgia that Kate had gone to see her sister Sophie perform a recital. Kyle asks Kate why she left; she says she couldn't deal with everything, but having had a few days away, she's in a really good place, and suggests they put their one- night stand behind them. Kate promises to stick to Kyles story as far as Georgia's concerned, but when Kyle asks about Mason, she says it's over between them, so she will never have to tell him.
Meanwhile, Amber sees Josh in the street and goes over to give him the history assignment she's written for him. He feels bad for letting her do his homework, but Amber reminds him that she was the one who offered. He promises to make it up to her.
AMBER: Buy me a coffee sometime?
JOSH: Is that all you want?
AMBER: Oh, do you have something else in mind?
JOSH: Why don't we talk about it on the way to school?
Lassiters Complex
Brad has bought flowers from Harold's, as a peace offering for Terese but Paul comes over, and tells him not to make things worse by grovelling in front of the staff. He explains Terese is talking to the hotel inspector, trying to undo the damage of Brads outburst and convince him they'll do better at the next inspection. Brad tries to apologise to Paul, saying he made a mistake and that Terese has never led him to believe Paul would make a move on her. Paul rightly surmises from this that Brads heard otherwise from somebody else, and tells him his willingness to believe gossip suggests there can't be much trust in the Willises marriage.
BRAD: You don't know the first thing about our marriage.
PAUL: No, but I can guess.
BRAD: Well, just so you're clear, I trust Terese.
Paul sarcastically implies that Brads recent actions strongly suggest otherwise.
Erinsborough High School
Josh gets a message from Don Cotter, telling him not to be late for their 5pm training session. Kate accosts him on the stairway; she wants a word about his assignment, which she says wasn't up to his usual standards! She adds that some of it looked like it had been copied straight from the Internet, but Josh insists he wouldn't have done that intentionally making the excuse that his heads been all over the place due to his swimming schedule.
Kate suggests they should talk to his parents, to work out a better sport/school balance, but Josh begs her not to involve them, saying he'll try harder next time. Kate says he'll get a written warning, and advises him to see the counsellor to figure out a study programme.
No 22
Brad arrives home to find that Terese is still angry with him; and learning that he acted the way he did because of what Sheila said about Pauls fling with Priya does nothing to improve her mood.
TERESE: How long do I have to keep paying?
BRAD: That's not how I want you to feel.
TERESE: But if you can't let this go after all this time, Brad Look, I regret that I didn't report my old boss for sexual harassment. I regret that I let his interest in me further my career. But nothing ever happened!
Terese says the whole thing was a nightmare; that's why she took Caroline's allegations that Paul sexually harassed her so seriously. Brad claims he didn't realise he still felt insecure until now.
TERESE: Its been seven years! After all that time, have I ever given you any reason to doubt me?
BRAD: No.
TERESE: No.
Terese decides she wont be able to sleep now, so heads back to work.
Harolds Store
Terese calls in for a coffee, and chats to Lauren about the situation, explaining the history with her former boss trying it on with her and how she thought she and Brad had got through it. Terese asks if Lauren has ever been tempted to stray from Matt over the years. Lauren insists not, but says she's not about to judge anyone else for it. Terese wonders if Brad will ever get over it, but Lauren says she's sure Brad wants to sort it out as much as Terese.
No 32
Josh comes round to see Amber, explaining Kate thought it was lifted off a website. Amber feels guilty, saying she had logged on to take some notes, but thought shed put them into her own words she would never cheat on purpose.
JOSH: No worries. I just wanted to know what happened.
AMBER: Me that's what happened. I don't know anything about the Chinese Revolution. I just made it up to make you feel less guilty. I am so sorry I'm not Imogen she would never mess up like this.
Josh tells her not to apologise; it was really cool of her to offer to help.
AMBER: It wasn't cool; It was so not cool; I am like the least cool person in the history of the universe, which I'm not normally; its just that OK, I admit it I really like you; and when you talk to me, this weird stuff seems to come out of my mouth; and you're probably going to take that the wrong way too, aren't you? Why am I still talking like an idiot? And why are you looking at me like that? You think I'm crazy, don't you?
Amber's monologue gets Josh laughing, and eventually he takes it upon himself to shut her up by kissing her on the lips!
JOSH: I think you're amazing!
They kiss some more, before his phone rings its Don. Josh hurriedly tells Amber that he'll buy her a coffee after school, before answering his phone and leaving. Amber looks spellbound.
Harold's Store (kitchen)
Matt and Lauren discuss Masons love- life. Lauren remarks that love is hard work, before joking that Matt's not that bad, when he's not driving her crazy. They kiss. Lauren suggests they have a romantic dinner later, after their last one got derailed when Matt unwittingly invited the kids to join them! Matt seems keen.
Erinsborough High School
Mason shows up to pester Kate. Telling her he loves her, he says he'll accept they're over if that's what she really wants, but that he needs to know why. Kate admits there's a reason: she slept with somebody else after they broke up. She apologises, saying it was a one- time thing and that she doesn't want to see him again. Mason says they can move past this, and asks who the other man was.
KATE: It doesn't matter who I was with. We can't change what happened. Were over; I really am sorry.
Kate leaves, and Mason looks heartbroken.
No 22
Terese arrives home, and accepts a glass of wine from Brad. He tries to explain that seeing Josh, Terese and Imogen all making successes of their lives has left him feeling a bit insecure he doesn't know what he wants from his own life, and that scares him. Terese says they can work through all that, but that he needs to trust her. For her part, she says she still feels guilt for what happened seven years ago, saying she caused Brad to doubt her. They agree to find a way forward. Terese says it wont take as long as Paul thinks for Lassiters to regain its fifth star. She tells Brad just to talk to her if he ever has concerns, and he says he will, adding that he trusts and loves her. They kiss, and she goes upstairs to do some more work.
No 32
Amber's still looking pleased with herself, and sulky Mason wants to know why. She admits Josh kissed her earlier.
MASON: Why do you always go out with jerks?
AMBER: I know you're threatened by him, but its really none of your business.
MASON: I'm not threatened. Josh is the kind of loser who always puts himself first. He doesn't even know he's doing it.
Mason doesn't want Amber to get hurt, but she says she can take care of herself. Twigging that Mason is miserable about Kate, Amber insists that doesn't mean she can't be happy and says she's going to give things a try with Josh, as she really likes him. Mason is determined to be pessimistic, however, and goes for a walk, telling a worried Amber he'll be okay. Amber is then thrilled to receive a text from Josh, saying he'll see her in ten minutes.
Charlies
Mason wastes no time in telling Georgia about Kate sleeping with another guy, and that he doesn't know who. Georgia's perplexed that Kate hasn't told her about this. Masons clearly feeling sorry for himself, so Georgia gives him a hug. He says Kate was always out of his league; he just didn't want to see it. He wanders off despondently.
Lassiters Lake
Georgia tracks down Kate, asking how her Sydney trip went but really she's trying to get more details about Kate's one- night stand. Georgia explains that Mason has told her all about it, and asks Kate who the mystery man is.
KATE: Trust me, you don't want to know.
GEORGIA: But were friends. And friends tell each other that kind of stuff.
KATE: ...
GEORGIA: Kate, I know you haven't been happy. But I don't understand why you feel like you have to avoid me.
Kate tells Georgia she just wants to put it behind her, which is why she hasn't come to her about it.
GEORGIA: I can't believe that I didn't realise. Of course!
KATE: Realise what?
GEORGIA: Who the guy us. There's only one person that it could be.
KATE: ...
GEORGIA: It was Brennan, wasn't it?
Kate smiles coyly at Georgia's epic fail.
