Hospital
Sonya is rushed into the hospital and taken straight through for treatment. Toadie tells Karl that Callum is on his way and literally seconds later he arrives and Karl has to restrain him from following his parent's path. Karl reassures Callum that it will be okay and mentions that its likely Sonya will be having a caesarean section too.

Meanwhile, Lucas enters Vanessa's room and spots his son lying in the crib, and after begrudgingly thanking Rhys for standing in, is encouraged to go and meet his son. "Wow," Lucas mutters as he stares lovingly at his son.

Erinsborough News
Carmel and Susan are chatting nonchalantly when Karl calls to let Susan know about Sonya, however from what Carmel is hearing, she thinks it's about the night she spent with Karl! Thankfully, Susan interrupts her trying to clear her conscience, to say what the call is about, and to ask Carmel to accompany her to the hospital.

Hospital exterior
Susan (and Carmel) spot Callum loitering outside the hospital as they arrive and immediately start asking questions but they then spot Toadie exiting the hospital and they all rush to him for the updated news.

Toadie explains them that Nell was delivered by c-section but on delivery she was grey and not breathing, so she's been taken away to be given oxygen... and then she started crying. Everyone is mightily relieved to hear the good news but it appears Nell isn't quite out of the woods as they've had to give her some antibiotics in case she swallowed any of the Meconium.

(Later)

Susan and Carmel wait in line for some coffees and just as Susan is debating whether or not to rush inside Karl comes out and can barely look at Carmel as he gives Susan an update on what is happening. Carmel sleeks off to get the coffees leaving Susan to chat to Karl (about Priya/Ajay) and he seems very relieved when his pager goes off and he goes inside.

Hospital interior
After lots of pacing, Toadie (and Callum) spot Karl and get an update from him about Sonya - she's out of recover and is being transferred to a room. Karl also reassures him that what happened with Nell wasn't due to how he handled the situation and that she's a tough little girl. He also says Nell is doing well and is now off oxygen and takes them off to see her.

Karl wheels Nell into Sonya's room and leaves to allow the family to introduce themselves to the new arrival.

Commercial break later and the first visitor arrives - Susan laden down with gifts. Sonya hands bubs over to Susan for a cuddle because she's feeling tired.

Susan's flat
Susan is telling Carmel about Nell as they enter the flat. Suddenly, Carmel announces she's leaving and Susan seems disappointed that her sister is going and that she refuses to be talked out of it too.

Lassiters complex
Summer runs into Susan as she exits the store and they chat about her forthcoming trip and the new arrivals. Susan seems perplexed when Sum remarks that her packing is going well (the total opposite of the impression both Karl and Carmel have given) but does say that there was a tension between Karl/Carmel the previous night however adds that she doesn't know details. "You should really talk to Carmel about this," is her parting comment before walking away.

Hospital
Vanessa quizzes Lucas as to where he was that she couldn't get hold of him but he's very evasive in his replies. She then plucks up the courage to tell him about Rhys proposing and that she said yes. Lucas doesn't reply and his expressions seem to go from being upset to happy for her!

(Later)

Commercial break later and Vanessa gingerly takes a walk out of her room when she spots her mum at the reception desk.

Meanwhile inside the room, Lucas does some bonding with his son and finally picks him up for a cuddle. Rhys comes in and gives him some (medical) advice on bubs before offering his congratulations. Lucas dittos the congratulations too before Rhys leaves to allow them to continue bonding.

Out in the corridor, Vanessa wants to know how her mum knew about being in labour and she reveals it was Lucas and that he came down to talk sense into her. Vanessa is stunned at what Lucas gave up (to be at the birth of his son) as she turns around to watch him inside her room.

FRANCESCA: He's a good man.

Susan's flat
Carmel has gone all out to with dinner for her final night in Erinsborough but Susan is highly suspicious as to her motives and comes straight out with it - asking if something happened between her/Karl?

CARMEL: Don't be stupid!

Susan explains her reasoning for her suspicions but Carmel brushes them off and thinks she's reading into things too much! "I want to know what's going on!" Susan demands.

CARMEL: Alright. We had a moment.
SUSAN: What kind of moment?

Carmel tries to play down what the moment was but Susan wants details, so she blames it all on Karl, that he made a move on her!

Hospital
Toadie warns Callum that he's got lots of baby duties to look forward to as they sit watching Nell/the TV while Sonya rests. He thinks it's time for Nell to be fed but when he tries to rouse the sleeping Sonya, she's out cold and tells Cal to go get a doctor.

Karl just so happens to be passing and rushes into the room to find out what is wrong and Toad explains that he can't wake Sonya. He then does some medical checks and tells a nurse to page Jessica as Sonya will need to be taken back to theatre. Moments later she's transferred onto a trolley before being whisked away and Karl promises to update Toadie when he can.

Final commercial break later and Toadie paces around having flashbacks to his relationship with Sonya, while in the operating room she is prepped for surgery.

Callum joins his dad and consoles him as it begins to get too much for Toadie as the promo begins.
