Care Home
Rhys arrives to visit his mother, bringing her some cupcakes. He tells Elaine about his attempts to get Vanessa back. Elaine is not surprised that neither of them worked.
RHYS: I was trying to be romantic.
ELAINE: You were offering empty gestures Rhys
RHYS: Well I don't know what else to do
ELAINE: She's about to become a mother. When you have a baby on the way, you need support, reassurance, security, not cupcakes! Did she speak to you? What did you say?
RHYS: We should try again, we should be together
ELAINE: Did you tell her that you love her? Oh Rhys!
RHYS: Well it's obvious. Words are easy, it's what you do that counts.
ELAINE: Like booking fancy suites and baking? This girl has another man who is prepared to marry her, to look after her and the baby. What are you offering?
RHYS: What am I supposed to do, propose?
ELAINE: You need to commit. You need to tell her that you love her and that you will always be there. Or you'll risk losing her. It's up to you.

Toadie is annoyed that he can't do anything with these giant gloves on, while Lucas and Connor laugh. Toadie's phone goes off, so Lucas answers it for him. It's Toadie's work and they want him to do a video call in 5 minutes. Toadie panics and yells at Connor and Lucas to pull off his gloves. They all pull on them and struggle to take them off.
(Later)
Toadie sits at the table wearing a pink shirt and tie over his shoulders, while Lucas and Connor sit behind him with pink shirts, pretending to be his two hands. They gesticulate ridiculously, scratching Toadie's beard, putting thumbs up and flailing their hands around in front of the camera. The lawyer speaking to Toadie asks him to check a file, so they struggle to open the file and wave it around in front of Toadie's face. They end the call, pleased that the lawyer seemed to buy it.
LUCAS: I was really good. My arm was really natural. Yours was a bit over the top.
CONNOR: Come on, my arm was brilliant. It was pure method.
Sonya arrives and sees the gloves. She won't ask what's going on, but Toadie's gloves better be off before dinner. Toadie says he needs to go to the toilet so Lucas runs off. As Toadie tries to get Connor to help, Connor grabs his backpack and says he's off, he'll call Toadie from Lorne. He shouts bye to Sonya and wishes Toadie good luck before he leaves. Toadie then turns to Sonya for help.
Ramsay Street
Chris gives Aidan a pep talk for his fight with Callum.
AIDAN: He's a child, I can take him.
CHRIS: You don't know what you're dealing with.
CALLUM: Get in here, so I can put you on the ground!
AIDAN: Okay, bit scared now.
CHRIS: No, you'll be alright. Now go, love you!
Aidan gets into the ring and immediately Callum starts clobbering him. While they watch, Chris asks Kyle if everything is okay with the housing situation, and that when Aidan comes over they're not being too couply (fat chance of that Chris). Kyle says it's alright, and they're a good couple. Chris tells Kyle that Aidan's meeting with the union went well and they think he'll be reinstated. They all laugh while watching Callum hitting Aidan
AIDAN: Oh my god! He's so angry!

(Later)
Toadie tells Aidan that he stashed a parcel of prawns in Connor's backpack as revenge. Aidan approaches Chris who is sitting by himself. He tells Aidan he's confused and asks why Aidan lied to him. Aidan apologises but he wanted to sort it out himself. Chris suggests they see Karl now about reorganising the meeting.
AIDAN: Chris, just stop. Seriously, first you freak because I go out and then you want to talk and now you want me to see someone. It's doing my head in.
CHRIS: I'm just trying to help
AIDAN: Well you're smothering me. I don't need you or anyone to sort this out. I can deal with it myself.
CHRIS: Hey, I'm your partner. We're in this together
AIDAN: No, no we're not. This is my problem and I can deal with it. I hate relying on other people.
CHRIS: I'm not other people
AIDAN: Chris, it doesn't matter! I'm going to handle this myself and if you've got a problem with that then too bad!
Aidan walks out.
