Previously on Neighbours

- Lucas explaining to Vanessa why he's going to bid on #24.
- Kyle accepting that Jade and he is over.
Dial a Kyle
Kyle wakes up cold in the middle of the night because his heater has failed. He tries to snuggle down as best as he can in his sleeping bag.
Jade isn't too impressed at Sheila coming over to talk to her while she waits for her coffee to be made. Sheila tells her about Kyle asking her to leave and explains why. "I'm really sorry," Sheila tells her and while Jade can't believe what has been said, she isn't really too surprised, "I wouldn't put anything past you," she adds.
SHEILA: I thought I knew best, turns out I was wrong.
She does give Jade a bit of a warning though - Kyle won't fight for her so tells her she will need to be the one to make the moves otherwise it might be too late.
Summer barges into #22 to have a go at Paul for doing that piece on Ajay. He doesn't give two hoots to Summer telling him it's a breach of her privacy and nor is he backing down about doing the article either.
Priya tries to reassure her husband that the video won't cause him that many votes although he thinks otherwise especially since Paul's been harassing him for a year now and mud eventually sticks. She tries to take a positive outlook including them buying a house because she doesn't feel an MP should live in rental accommodation.
Paul is unrepentant about what he's done and couldn't give a toss what Susan will think when she gets back either.
Number 24 (next day)
Kate is packing up her stuff and is upset at the thought of moving, even if it is next door. Vanessa tries to put a positive spin on things as she cleans up until Lucas arrives and promptly tells her to stop - they don't want the house looking good! He is really nervous about the auction and about how much it's going to cost!
Kyle comes in to see Rhys wanting a check up as he woke up feeling not great and is diagnosed with flu. Rhys suggests he heads to a relative (his Gran) while he lets his body fight it off and Kyle explains that's a no go and why. Trying to think positively, Rhys thinks this might be the clink that lets Kyle get back with Jade but he thinks otherwise and leaves the hospital.
Ajay and Priya stand and greet/thank the voters as Summer comes by to see how it's going and to apologise about the article. They are cool with her as they know it wasn't her but perhaps Priya was right, that it might not cost Ajay too many votes when some guy comes up to say he's still voting for Ajay as he knew it was a beat up article.
Paul comes by to see how things are going I.e. to rub things in but gets as good as he gives back from the Kapoor's! Sum volunteers to hand out come flyers and not surprisingly Paul rejects when they ask if he will do the same!
Rhys is putting together a care package for Kyle and it attracts Jade's attention until she finds out that it's just flu Kyle has. He tries with the psychology to get her to sort things with Kyle but she's not budging at all.
RHYS: Jade, you can be right or you can be happy, it's your choice.
Lucas is doing some last minute paperwork over the finance when Paul saunters over for a chat. He tries to wind Lucas up by saying he will put a bid in himself so he can knock the house down and put up a garage instead for some European cars!
Things seem to be going well for Ajay as they are all out of flyers, so Priya decides to leave him to it until it's time to celebrate. Perhaps she should have stayed around as seconds after she leaves, some other guy appears and Ajay is most definitely not getting his vote! Sum comes inside and reports to Ajay that she's had a few similar people outside too but at least he's getting her vote!
Jade is finding it hard to concentrate on her yoga as she keeps being distracted by Kyle's card. Eventually she gives up and goes to look again at what he wrote.
Dial a Kyle
"I heard you were sick," Jade greets Kyle with after watching him for a few seconds while he has a coughing fit. She then throws him the keys for the house - he can come home but warns him not to try anything! It's not any great conciliation but more that she doesn't want him to end up in hospital with pneumonia.
Kyle and Bossy reacquaint themselves with #26 although he gets a very luck warm welcome from Jade unlike the one from Rhys.
Ajay sarcastically thanks Paul for getting the electorate to vote for the other guy as he's heard voting is going 2:1 against him. Sum wishes that there was something she could do for Ajay but it seems that all hope is lost.
AJAY: Politics is a grubby business Summer, try not to forget that.
Sum then leaves him and he phones Priya to tell her that he's lost the election.
Lucas is freaking out at the number of people who are taking a final look at the house before the auction begins. Vanessa tries to reassure him as the auctioneer calls for everyone to head outside and get down to business.
VANESSA: Are you ready?
LUCAS: Yep. Let's win this thing.
Lucas is encouraged when he spots that Paul isn't around to bid as Kate, Vanessa and himself gather on the street ready for the auction to begin.
The auctioneer starts the bidding at $650,000 and it increases to $690,000 where he then announces that the property is officially on the market. The bidding increases and Lucas is sticking to his strategy and comes in with his opening bid of $710,000. It goes up by another $10,000 and when Vanessa enthusiastically goes to greet Rhys when he walks up the street, Lucas is having doubts about whether its right to buy the house or not.
We come back from the commercial break with the auctioneer ready to call it at $720,000 but after some words from Vanessa and Kate, Lucas puts in an offer of $725,000. The bidding then increases to Lucas' final offer of £735,000 and the auctioneer is literally about to close the auction when Ajay suddenly puts in a bid of $750,000!!!
"What are you doing?!" Priya instantly asks her husband and he explains that she was right, they can't stay in rental property forever.
A stunned Lucas is out of the bidding as the auctioneer closes the auction with Ajay putting in the winning bid.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Priya not impressed with what her husband has done!
- Lucas despondent at not winning.
- An opportunity coming up for Rhys.
