He says that Vanessa doesn't know and he's going to tell her at lunch.
Outside Harold's
Vanessa is cleaning tables and Rhys walks over and they kiss. Rhys asks if she's got time for a chat. She says she has, but that if he proposes, she's going to run! He says he wants to talk about "us" now that they've got things together. He says he thinks it's time they took things further. He asks her what she's got planned for lunch, and she says she hasn't got any plans. Rhys asks her to come round to his, because no-one will be at home. Rhys says he needs to sort out a couple of things, and Vanessa says she does too. She clearly thinks they are going to TITTNL™.

Vanessa has been shopping... and bought some lingerie. Susan walks up and asks if Vanessa is coming to Karl's gig, as Karl likes to see familiar faces and she would like the company. Vanessa jokingly suggests she asks the yoga instructor. Vanessa says she's going to Rhys's for lunch. Susan points out that it's an evening gig, but Vanessa shows Susan what she's bought and says it might be a long lunch. Susan raises her eyebrows as the penny drops.
Hospital
Karl puts up a poster for the gig. Rhys asks if ticket sales are low.
KARL: There'll always be a seat for you right down the front if you want.
RHYS: I'd definitely be there, but I've got something else on, and besides, I've heard you guys rehearse!

Garage
Lucas and Chris have almost finished the cot, but Chris thinks Lucas should put his own stamp on it since it looks plain. Vanessa arrives so they cover it with a tarpaulin. She tells him she can't make lunch, then asks about what's under the tarpaulin. Lucas shows her and she doesn't look too thrilled. Lucas and Chris then put bumpers, lights, a grille and steering wheel on. (Vanessa should be a whole lot less thrilled now.)

Vanessa arrives in a slinky dress and checks her hair and make-up at the door. Rhys lets her in and presents her with a single rose and she kisses him. She asks him if he's ready to take things further and is surprised when he pulls her towards the kitchen, as she thinks the bedroom is more appropriate. Rhys explains that he's invited her to meet his mother! Vanessa laughs awkwardly.
She tries to pull her dress to cover more of her legs as Elaine looks serious. Rhys starts serving lunch and they make awkward conversation. Then Elaine says that she's a single mum so they have that in common. She and Vanessa both smile.

Karl and Ajay are setting up for the gig, which will close with "My high flying bird" - a song written about their daughters. Susan comes over and Karl tells her they've written a new song which is "pretty special". Susan goes over to Priya at the bar and says that sitting through the sound check is exceeding their obligations. Tash says that at least they have the choice of leaving, unlike her.
Susan and Priya listen to Karl and Ajay playing the new song. Priya said she thinks Ajay wrote the music and Karl the lyrics. Susan looks concerned and Priya tells her they'll be better at the gig. Susan says it's not that - the new song was "interesting". Priya says it was sweet, singing about the women in their lives. Susan thinks Karl still has feelings for her, from the lyrics and the way he was looking at her. Priya says it's just a song and Karl probably wanted a friendly face. Even if Karl did have feelings for her, Priya says he's not going to jeapordise the good place they are in at the moment.

Susan looks uncomfortable.
Outside Charlie's
Tash complains to Chris and Lucas about her shift - four hours of Karl and Ajay. She asks if they have made up. Chris tells her about the cot. Tash says he's clucky, and Chris says he might want kids but he doesn't have a partner. Lucas says he doesn't have a partner either, even if he's having a kid. Chris says Vanessa will always be in his life.
TASH: If Lucas can do it, anyone can.

At the gig, Karl is announcing the last song. Susan is gesturing at him, trying to get him to stop. She tells Priya she can't let him go through with it. She goes over to him and unplugs the guitar from the amp. Karl leans down to speak to her. She says that she feels very awkward that they are going to sing a song about her - it's embarrassing for him. Karl tells her it's not about her. She scoffs. Karl says it's about daughters, and gets confirmation from Ajay. Karl asks if he can finish the gig, and mortified, Susan returns to her seat.
KARL: Sorry about that, ladies and gentlemen: just a bit of confusion from one of our biggest fans. So "My high flying bird". This one's for you, Susan!
