Previously on Neighbours
Toadie punching Troy.
An intervention order being placed on Toadie to stay away from Troy.
Tash running away from the maths club.
Karl is listening loudly to his latest session when Tash comes home and Karl brings up the mess of the house and that they (Tash/Summer) need to start tidying up after themselves. He asks Tash how the maths club went and she lies about being there.
Susan's flat/Number 30
Toadie calls Sonya to see how things are going and tells her that he's managed to get the intervention order revoked to appear in court to challenge it but it still means he's barred from going home. He suggests that they get a hotel room although Sonya thinks he won't get any work done if that happens but Toadie counteracts by saying he's not getting much done currently!
SONYA: We can't let him beat us.
TOADIE: We won't.
SONYA: I'm not going to let him drive us off our own street. I mean this is our street!
Toadie agrees with her just before they end the call as Jade has made the pair of them banana splits.
Kyle arrives to see how things are going and to suggest he stays over with Toadie being away. Jade is quick to say no and Sonya backs him up. Kyle then asks Jade for a favour - he needs her to help him seal a deal because the client prefers to deal with a family film. Jade comes up with the excuse that Sonya needs her, even though she said she'd be fine for an hour, and he's forced to accept it.
Dial a Kyle (next day)
Kate comes by to suggest that after what happened, perhaps its best that Sheila does his books. Their conversation is interrupted when the client he was telling Jade about (Keith Wright) and his wife (Pam) appear. Keith jumps to the wrong conclusion when he spots the books in Kate's hand and thinks she is Kyle's partner! Kyle thankfully is more on the ball than she is and indicates that yes Kate is his partner!
Toadie has a clandestine meeting with Jade just on the border of the exclusion zone to go over what will happen at the hearing. She seems a bit surprised that she will not only have to be there but will be required to give a statement too about what happened but assures him he's got nothing to worry about.
Dial a Kyle
Keith is very impressed at what Kyle has been telling him and a deal seems imminent but he pauses the negotiations to have a quick word with Kate. He goes over to her and apologises for landing her in it and pleads with her to help him get the deal. Their chat is interrupted when Pam suggests that to help seal the deal, the four of them have lunch!
Ed enters the bar to quiz Tash on why she ran off and she uses the excuse that she had to work. He taunts her that she just wasn't up to it but she responds by telling him that she just didn't want to show him up in front of his nerdy mates! "Sure," he replies then suggests that they should have a contest at the bar since she can't get away because she is working.
The contest is a bit different... it's a game of pool! Tash is getting thrashed at pool by him and when she pays him a compliment, he suddenly bails from the bar.
Karl thankfully doesn't blow their cover when he spots the quartet when he enters the store. Keith asks how they (Kate/Kyle) know each other and Kyle explains that they know each other from school and he eventually wore her down so she'd date him!
Jade goes through the papers Toadie gave her so she can prepare her statement for the court except when she tries to she barely gets started before she scrunches the paper up. She then has to quickly hide the stuff though when Sonya finally wakes up. Jade heads to get the iron, which has already raised Sonya's suspicions, and right enough, finds the scrunched up pieces of paper/the papers Toadie gave her that she was trying to hide.
Forced to come clean, Jade says that Toadie was going to tell her all tomorrow at the hearing. Sonya can see straight through the brave exterior Jade is trying to hide behind and correctly guesses she hasn't told Kyle anything.
Ed is back to collect his fancy pen that he left earlier and spots Tash coming back into the bar laden down with text books - maths text books because she's transferring courses next semester. Turns out too that they are both going to be on the same course for calculus and the pair of them taunt each other about who is going to show who up!
The quartet talk business and the more they talk, the more it shows that Kate really is part of the business.
Sonya urges Jade to tell all to Kyle but she's trying to bury her head in the sand!
Keith had obviously liked what he's heard from Kyle (and Kate) and announces he's got the contract. Kyle is over the moon at hearing the news!
Jade's reason for not telling Kyle is because she doesn't know what he will think of her once he hears the news. "You're underestimating how much he loves you," Sonya tries to tell her sister but its still not washing with Jade, so Sonya asks what might happen then if she continues to push Kyle away?
Keith takes a pic of "the perfect couple" on his mobile phone just before the ladies go to sort the bill out. Kyle thanks Peter for giving him the work.
KEITH: You're a lucky bloke.
KEITH: She's beautiful, smart and she likes you.
KEITH: Word of advice. Don't let her go whatever you do. Good ones like that don't come along all that often.
Dial a Kyle
Kate and Kyle wave Keith and Pam off relieved to have the pressure off them to act as a couple. He suggests they have a drink as a way of him saying thanks, but she turns him down. Both then dish out the compliments - him for her help in getting the contract, her for him deserving to win the contract. To "celebrate" they hug each other but as they pull apart, eyes meet and before you can say "contract" they are pashing!
