- Paul offers Susan the Editor's job.
- Andrew tells Summer that he's changed.
- Andrew finds an discrepancy of $8000 in Kyle's accounts.
- Kate confronts Lou about his theft of $8,000. He begs her not to tell Kyle.
Kate comes round. Kyle and Jade are worried about the books. Kate decides not to tell him about Lou.
Karl sees Summer. She tells him about Jade's new dog, and they chat about her job. Andrew passes by looking like and executive and barking into his phone. Summer looks a bit sad.
Susan has called a staff meeting. She tells them that the paper is going to be more well- rounded, and won't be just about the front page. She asks them all to pitch ideas. All the staff are quiet and reluctant to speak up. One of them eventually tells her that they're not used to pitching stories anymore - Paul usually tells them what to do. They find it impossible to stand up to Paul. Susan says they'll have to try to fix things.
Paul sees journalist Fiona and invites her to join him. He asks her for details on how Susan is running the paper.
Karl comes to see Susan for a chat. He asks her how Summer is getting on, and says she's struggling with the break- up with Andrew. Susan tells Karl that she's looking forward to taking the paper forward.
Paul tells Fiona that she's going to spy on Susan for him and she agrees.
Lou is on the phone trying to get a job. He is not having any luck though. Kate observes him for a while and then picks up her phone and rings Kyle. She tells him she knows what happened to his accounts and is coming over to tell him about it.
Kate comes around and suggests that Jade gives the dog a name. Kyle is frantic about his books, but Kate explains it was just a mistake in the books. She makes out that Lou got a bit confused due to old age(!) Kyle is very relieved and wants to go and talk to Lou about it. Kate advises him to leave it, and also to let her take over the books for him - just to help him out. Kyle agrees.
Susan has called another staff meeting, and tells everyone that from now on they have to find stories that they want to write about. Susan will still make editorial decisions, but they'll have more ownership of their work. They'll have a pitch meeting tomorrow morning. Everyone goes away happily.
Summer offers to go through the Letters to the Editor to get some online debate going. Susan says that will be fine - Summer can use her password temporarily. When Summer and Susan have gone, Fiona gives an evil smile.
Susan chats to Lou and tells him she hopes he isn't overdoing things - he has to think of his health. He says he just wants to keep busy.
Summer is avidly reading the Letters to the Editor. Susan reminds her not to work too hard. Susan is a bit concerned that Summer has looked at an email in Susan's inbox and tells her to stick to the Letters email.
Fiona is updating Paul on the recent developments at the paper. Tash comes over and tells them to hurry up(!) Paul asks Fiona to find out if Susan has dropped any advertisers - she'll have to look in Susan's private folder!
Summer is reading avidly on her laptop when Fiona comes in. She offers to have a look and asks Summer what the password is. Summer says she'd better type it in herself, but as she does so, she is distracted by Andrew coming in. Fiona sees the keys she types for Susan's password.
Kate tells Lou that she's spoken to Kyle and has decided not to tell him about Lou stealing from him. But she lied so that Kyle wouldn't get hurt. She also tells Lou that he's not well enough to go back to work - she'll help him out by doing the books from now on to fix things. She hugs him and Lou thanks her.
Paul snipes at Susan and tells her she hopes she hasn't lost any advertising contracts. Susan says if anyone has lost advertisers, it's Paul! Susan is suspicious by some of the things Paul says and realises he must have a mole. When Paul has gone, Susan asks Tash if Paul has been in there much today. She says he has been in there with a woman in a "hideous orange scarf". Susan realises it was Fiona.
Susan has called Summer and Fiona in for a chat. She tells Fiona she knows she's been talking to him, and also accessing her emails. Summer is the only other person who knew the password. Summer realises that Fiona saw her type the password in a Harold's earlier. Susan tells Fiona that she has no option other than to fire her. When Fiona has gone, Susan tells Summer off severly for being careless. She's giving Summer an official warning and putting it on her file. Summer walks off, dejectedly.
