Number 32
Michael is pleasantly surprised to answer the door to Emilia. She explains that she is there to keep an eye on him as Tash is going to be out all day. Lucas comes over to say hi to Emilia after seeing her car outside. Michael jokingly tries to convince Lucas to help him with all his work for school, but Lucas is off to see Chris. Lucas and Emilia agree to meet up later and she goes to do some washing. Michael seems exhausted just looking at the pile of work in front of him.
Later Emilia brings in the last load of washing and playfully tells Michael off for not doing any work. He complains that he is entitled to a break. Emilia tells him that she would never have expected him to become a school principle as he has always been passionate about teaching, not paper work.
EMILIA: It's not you, because you used to hate this part of the job and you obviously still do. So why would you become a principle when that's all you do?
MICHAEL: It's not all I do.
EMILIA: You can't even convince yourself.
Mike seems to have had enough of this conversation and insists he has to get on with his work.
Hospital
Rhys has found a lost Dr. O'Brien who is very worried about being late for his briefing. Rhys sends him to the correct room.
Lucas and Aidan are taking Chris for his first walk since the surgery. Chris seems a bit better and wants to go to the canteen. Chris is pleased to hear that the development is off, but is worried that the guy who attacked him still hasn't been found. Lucas assures him that his attacker will be found. Chris has become quite tired and is in pain so Aidan takes him back to his room. Meanwhile Lucas takes a phone call from Dan who wants him to come visit in Sydney. Lucas says he will think about it.
Later Karl and Rhys run into Robbie in the corridor and Karl congratulates him on getting in to the surgical program. Robbie is very grateful to Rhys for helping him find the right room earlier, not realising that it was Rhys who sent him to the wrong room in the first place. Robbie offers to buy Rhys lunch as a thank you. They leave while a suspicious Karl watches on.
Harold's
Lucas is very quiet during lunch with Emilia and isn't eating much. He eventually tells her about Dan wanting him to go to Sydney. He seems to want to go, admitting that it has been a while since he has seen Dan and Adam, but he is worried about the timing. He doesn't feel like he should go with Chris in hospital.
LUCAS: Chris is in there because of me.
EMILIA: That's ridiculous!
LUCAS: No it's not, if I had of sold the garage none of this would have happened.
Emilia tries to convince Lucas that what happened was not his fault and he can not blame himself.
Charlie's
Rhys and Robbie are playing pool and talking about Robbie's Dad who is also a surgeon. Robbie explains that he wants to be a Pediatric Surgeon and is talking about the skills involved. Rhys adds that it also doesn't hurt with the ladies, but Robbie doesn't seem to have thought much about that side of it.
RHYS: Robert don't tell me you haven't taken full advantage of the super powers that come with being a healer of sick children.
Rhys spots two women sitting at a table and takes Robbie off to show him how it is done.
Hospital
Aidan is trying to find out about how much pain Chris is in, but Chris is more concerned about being very hungry. Lucas arrives as Aidan goes to organise lunch for Chris. Lucas tells Chris about his call from Dan and that he wants him to visit, but he doesn't think he should. Chris urges Lucas to go and very sweetly assures him that what happened was not his fault. Chris also reminds Lucas of all that he has done to help him follow his dreams.
Number 32
Michael is packing the Sandman, getting ready to go surfing. Emilia is walking past and asks him if he has done his work. Michael says he has, before admitting he hasn't done all of it. He invites Emilia to go surfing with him, but she doesn't want to. She explains that she hasn't surfed since what happened to Helena and going to the beach at Christmas bought up a lot of stuff for her. She also doesn't want to go in the Sandman, so Michael suggests a surf lesson on the front lawn instead.
EMILIA: Are you crazy?
MICHAEL: Yeah a bit, it would be a shame to let that stop us though.
Emilia smiles and agrees to the lesson. They look like they are having lots of fun practicing surfing on the lawn.
Hospital
Rhys is urging Robbie to call a girl he met at Charlie's, but he just wants to focus on work. Rhys continues to try and distract Robbie by asking if it is all worth it, having to put up with Martin and all the hard work. Rhys suggests that if it is only making Robbie's Dad happy, then perhaps he should give it up. Robbie takes in what Rhys has said and leaves. A now highly suspicious Karl has heard all of this.
Karl tries to find out what is going on between Rhys and Robbie. Rhys says that he is just networking, but Karl doesn't buy it. Robbie comes back, having seen the ariticle about Rhys saving Chris and says he understands the passion and commitment that Rhys was talking about now. Robbie thanks Rhys for making him see that being a surgeon is what he wants to do and that he was very close to pulling out. Robbie leaves, happy that he is doing the right thing for him.
KARL: Well you made him happy.
RHYS: Apparently
KARL: Mmmm...
RHYS: What? We're mates
KARL: You don't have mates
Rhys claims that he was only trying to help Robbie and that he has accepted the fact that he has to wait until next year to do the surgery program. Karl doesn't look entirely convinced as he walks away. With Karl gone Rhys looks annoyed and goes straight to inspect the photo of the doctors in the program. He chooses Erin Salisbury as the doctor he is going to try and trick out of the program next. He adds her as a friend on Facebook.
Number 32
Michael and Emilia are still having the surfing lesson. They are doing a balancing exercise when Emilia falls off and Michael catches her. They go inside and Emilia apologises for cracking the whip earlier over Michael's job and he apologises for snapping at her. Emilia is still certain that Michael doesn't like the job and he admits she is right, it isn't him. He tells her that Tash needed the stability and security which is what the job gave them.
EMILIA: You did the right thing and that's because of who you are. You're a good guy.
MICHAEL: Yeah, you got me pegged.
EMILIA: I do actually, I always have.
A bit later Lucas arrives having been trying to get hold of Emilia. Michael tells Lucas about their surfing lesson and he is surprised to hear that she used to surf. Lucas excitedly tells Emilia that he is going to visit Dan in Sydney and asks her to go with him. Emilia is worried about leaving Michael, but he says that he will be fine with Tash. Emilia then agrees to go and Michael looks a little disappointed.
