Recap
Paul hoping the conservationists will be able to find something to stop the developers using the land.
Summer finding a picture of Tash's mum in the newspaper archives; the picture ending up on the history wall at school.
Tash wondering why she's never met her grandparents; Michael telling her they lost touch.
Harold's Store / Number 32
Summer tells Chris that she doesn't feel she can help Tash with her family issues because Michael freaked out at her for interfering. But she doesn't want Tash to go through this alone...
In her garden at home, Tash has called someone Serbian and is trying to locate her grandparents.
Back at the store Chris thinks that perhaps Michael has a really good reason for not letting Tash see her grandparents, but Summer's not so sure.
At home, Tash is still on the phone, but getting nowhere.
Getting drinks at the store, Chris tells Summer to let it go; it's the Williams' family business.
Number 22
Paul is on the phone asking Greg if the environmental impact statement about the developers' land has come through yet. Karl wanders in without knocking and says he needs to speak to Paul about Andrew - who wanted to sleep at the Kennedys' last night. He wants to make sure that Paul doesn't mind about it, and Paul really doesn't care; after all, Andrew's 18 years old.
The house is a tip - something not unnoticed by Karl - so Paul wonders if Karl would like to clean it for him. Sixty bucks? Karl walks out.
Ramsay Street
Lorraine Dowski is leaving number 26, having cleaned the house for them. Rhys is seeing her out. Paul spots her loading cleaning stuff into the boot of her car, and as she says goodbye to Rhys, it's like listening to Mishka.
Paul rushes over to Rhys and introduces himself.
RHYS: I've heard a lot about you.
PAUL: All good, I hope?
RHYS: ...
Paul asks about the cleaner, and wonders if she's good - as well as discrete. Rhys suggests that the only way to know that is by setting her a little test...
Number 30
Preparing for her birthday party, Sonya is texting Kyle, wanting to make things up with him. Jade is trying to download a song, but it appears that the number 30 household have gone over their monthly download allowance. Jade suggests that it might be down to Callum because, you know, he's a teenage boy and all...
Sonya is left horrified at the thought!
Number 28
Tash comes over to complain to Summer - she's called every Jovanovic in the phonebook and can't find her grandparents. She needs Sum to tell her what to do. Chris - standing in the kitchen - shakes his head in warning to Summer. Tash wants to know what's going on, and Summer gives in, admitting that Michael went ballistic at her.
Tash realises that there must be something going on, so Sum and Chris have to help her - after all, her dad's away surfing today... Summer agrees, and Tash is thrilled. Chris is worried what Michael might do when he finds out.
In Summer's bedroom the girls are on the net, and Summer has a possible lead with a newspaper subscriber database, so Tash gives them a call.
Number 30
Jade is putting party lights up when Sonya comes in. She's called Toadie and he hasn't been downloading anything, so it must be Cal. She convinces herself he must be downloading movies because she can't bear that it might be something worse!
Jade wants Sonya to hack into Cal's computer, but she refuses. She'll have to a mum to son talk with him instead.
SONYA: I'm his mum again. Now. This is...this is what mums do.
JADE: I don't think it is.
SONYA: No, shhhh. I'm gonna do it. I'm doing it.
Charlie's
Lorraine arrives to see Paul and - seriously - all I can is Mishka! Anyway, she wants - no, demands - to know what sort of house Paul has. She presents her references, but Paul decides to goad her into talking about Rhys.
PAUL: Did you know that he's a doctor there? He's probably not short of a bob or two. And probably got a good supply in his medicine cabinet, too, eh? You know what I mean?
LORRAINE: I'm not nosy, Mr Robinson. I don't care what's in your cupboards. So if this is test, I pass. I been in cleaning game long time.
Paul asks her when she can start, but Lorraine protests she has a life too, so he offers an extra 20% for the inconvenience.
LORRAINE: I like you, Mr Robinson.
Number 28
Karl returns home to find Chris eating a huge sandwich in his kitchen. Karl seems miffed at Chris using the bread, but no time for reprimands as Summer and Tash appear from the bedrooms with a lead on Tash's grandparents. They have an address, and want Chris to drive them there.
Chris is hesitant, and Tash pulls out - she doesn't want to give them a heart attack or anything. Perhaps Chris and Summer could go on her behalf? Summer agrees.
Number 30
Jade thinks the party house looks good, but Sonya's preoccupied with Callum's antics - and right at that moment he arrives home. Sonya demands to know if he's the reason they're over their download limit.
CALLUM: Maybe.
SONYA: Does maybe mean yes?
CALLUM: I'm sorry, okay? It's just that all the guys at school are into it, and I just kinda wanted to see for myself.
SONYA: So these guys...they told you what sites to go to?
CALLUM: There's only one site. It's so cool. Some of the stuff's kinda crazy...
SONYA: Oh CALLUM!
CALLUM: What?!
SONYA: I know! I know that you are at an age where you are starting to develop an interest in girls. But if you wanna know about it...th..those...those sites aren't particularly helpful. Y...you know, the...th...the way that the...women...and, and the men...interact, it...it...it's, it's not particularly respectful, NOR is it particularly real -
CALLUM: No! Stop! I am not downloading that stuff!! We're SO not talking about this!
Cal walks away. Sonya calls him back.
SONYA: So what have you been downloading then?
Dramatic pause.
CALLUM: Dragon prophecies. It's a game. The setup disc's, like, four gigs.
SONYA: (quiet) It's...it's a game...
CALLUM: Yeah. Once it's downloaded that's it. Hardly uses any bandwidth.
Sonya agrees that Cal can continue to play the game - but in future he should tell them what he's doing so that they don't leap to the wrong conclusions.
SONYA: Oh, and I tidied your room this morning as well.
Callum's alarmed.
CALLUM: Did you tidy under my bed?
SONYA: No. Why?
CALLUM: No reason.
Cal walks off and Sonya suddenly realises why he asked.
Number 32 / Roads
Tash waits and paces. We get lots of close- ups of her boots.
A car speeds down the freeway, then hits the 'burbs. We get close- ups of grass.
Tash's phone rings, and it's Summer. Her grandparents moved to Serbia three years ago, but the owner gave them the address of their daughter's business. Tash has an aunt she didn't know about. Summer says they'll text her the address, so she can look it up on the net - and they'll see her in an hour. Tash thanks them for doing this for her.
Getting the text, Tash looks it up on the net. Emilia Jovanovic, based in Brunswick. She calls the business landline, then changes her mind and puts the phone down again.
Charlie's
Karl is having a coffee whilst Paul is on the phone. Rhys comes in. Karl asks Paul how his latest scheme is going, but Paul declares that he's against the shopping development because it would destroy his own business. Rhys suggests that they can't stop progress, but Paul is determined, and leaves the bar.
Karl warns Rhys against Paul, but too late; Rhys thinks he's okay.
Number 22
Paul lets Lorraine in.
LORRAINE: Don't worry, I've seen worse.
Paul shows her the laundry and Lorraine wants to get on with it - she has to go at 4pm to get involved in the history wall project. Something that she thinks Paul should be involved with. She tells Paul she arrived in Erinsborough late in life with her parents.
Lorraine comments that Paul's old office is very old and very historical - what a shame it's been left to rot; they should take pride in their heritage. It used to be the old telegraph office, and now it's going to be shut down for a shopping centre.
Paul loves this idea.
Next Week
FVO: One little Aussie street is about to be hit by a mega- drama!
PETER NOONAN: I need you at the office, now. I've got a problem.
MVO: An evil plan is unfolding.
FVO: Toadie...
MVO: ...or Paul.
FVO: Whose side of the street will you be on?
TOADIE: I can't do this without you.
SONYA: Then don't do it.
TOADIE: Alright then, you tell me what to do! You tell me how to un- fix this!
SONYA: I don't know!! I don't know! But I want you to find a way, Toadie!!
FVO: Neighbours.
MVO: Six thirty, weeknights, on Eleven.
