Recap
- Andrew trying to start up a car business with Chris
- Noah developing a crush on Kate
- Rhys not helping Kyle out in a fight
Number 26
Rhys notices Kyle's black eye and jokes about him seeing a doctor, but Kyle's not in the mood for bantering with the guy who bailed on him last night. Rhys explains that he doesn't 'do' fights, even though Kyle was spoiling for one the whole day, but Kyle says mates are supposed to back one another up no matter what. Rhys just tells Kyle to put something on his eye before heading off to work.
Dial- A- Kyle HQ
Lucas is next in line to notice Kyle's shiner, but Lucas is on Kyle's side when he hears what Rhys did (or didn't do to be exact). Lucas tells Kyle that if a mate did what Rhys did, he'd be having a couple of words to him, "The first one would be gutless".
Erinsborough High
Kate tries to get the class interested in volunteering for the History Wall project that she'll be in charge of but not many people are enthusiastic.
KATE: Erinsborough High has been assigned the women's panel so you have to think of inspiring women who've lived here and have gone on to achieve greater things.
ANDREW: Name me one.
KATE: Well your great- grandmother for starters.
Summer looks like she'll be the only person joining the group, and she doesn't have much luck in trying to recruit Andrew or Chris either.
SUMMER: Come on, Chris, why don't you do this? It'll be fun.
CHRIS: Yeah, I think I'd rather watch paint dry. Oh wait, that's what we'd be doing.
After class ends, Kate puts the sign- up sheet, that only has Summer's name on it so far, outside on the noticeboard. Kate and Sophie strike up a bribe/deal where Sophie agrees to help (and con some friends into helping) if she gets her guitar back. Sophie's pleased, though, when she sees Noah walk up and also sign the sheet.
Outside, Andrew and Chris are confronted by Erik, the guy Andrew took the cash off in return for a car. Andrew explains to Erik that the make of car he wants is really hard to find but they'll get it to him by the end of the week. Erik buys this baloney, but Chris is worried they won't find the car in time.
Lassiter's Complex
Kyle finds Rhys and lets him know he's still peeved about the fight, but Rhys says it wasn't about being 'gutless'. He tells Kyle to show him his hands where there's bruising on the knuckles. Rhys says that he was lucky - he could have gotten a fracture or broken bones - none of which would have been helpful for Rhys in his doctor capacity. "We've both got jobs that are more important than a pack of yobbos".
Erinsborough High
Kate's not pleased when she realises Sophie could only round up two extra people for the History Wall meeting. But Sophie says they were the only people she could find who didn't have a life. Summer arrives and gets permission from Kate to shoot a behind the scenes doco about the project for her Journalism portfolio. Kate's wary when Noah walks in the room, and tries to discourage him from participating since her sister's around. But Noah says she needs his artistic skills, which Kate can't deny.
Harold's Store
Andrew notices Noah writing in his notebook and becomes intrigued when Noah immediately leaps up to show Kate some sketches he's been working on. Kate likes them and apologises for being so protective over Sophie, but Noah just says it's cool and leaves her to her lunch. Andrew makes a comment to Noah about Kate "seeing right through" him, which makes Noah defensive. But Andrew was just talking about Kate not bumping up Noah's history mark... now Noah's OTT reaction has got Andrew even more intrigued.
First Commercial Break
Garage
Andrew asks Chris if he thinks Noah has been acting weird around Kate, but Chris says Noah acts weird around everyone. The boys catch up with Lucas and ask if he's had any luck locating the BMW for them, but Lucas just says the feelers are out. Chris doesn't get why they can't just give Erik his money back, but Andrew says if they can't deliver to their very first customer they may as well not even bother with the business.
Dial- A- Kyle HQ
Rhys brings Kyle some cream to put on his black eye and make the swelling go down. Kyle gives him an uneasy thank you, and in return Rhys thanks him for having his back last night. He still doesn't approve of the fighting, but he should have made sure Kyle escaped unharmed, too. Rhys walks off, thinking things are resolved, but it's still not sitting well with Kyle. Lucas pops his head over the fence and smirks.
LUCAS: You two kissed and made up?
KYLE: Not exactly. I don't get that guy. I normally get a gut feeling about people, y'know? Who's all right and who's a major tool. But him...
LUCAS: Well did he admit that he was gutless?
KYLE: He bought me this. (Lucas raises his eyebrows) For my eye!
LUCAS: I guess it's your call then.
Erinsborough High
Kate attempts to entice Chris into participating in the History Wall project but he's still not keen on the idea. Chris then finds Andrew and says they really should give Erik his money back, but Andrew's still living in a fantasy land where they're going to find the BMW in time. He just wants to set up a business and get enough money to buy the car of his dreams so he can dump the clown mobile.
ANDREW: And we could get you whatever it is that you want. What is it? Sandwiches, or...
CHRIS: Ha, ha. Well let's just see who's laughing at the end of the week.
ANDREW: We're not giving this up.
Harold's Store
Kyle notices Lucas and Chris arrive for lunch and asks Chris for a chat while Lucas is ordering. He's still stewing over Rhys and basically wants to know how Chris accepted Lucas's apology and moved on. Chris says that Lucas apologised properly and that he's not the type of person to lie his way through something. This gives Kyle food for thought - maybe Rhys is the type of person to say what people want to hear just to get what he wants.
Second Commercial Break
Number 26
Kyle throws the cream back at Rhys and tells him he thought of another use for it, "I thought you could shove it". Rhys is confused because he thought they worked everything out, but he apologises again and tells Kyle that in his book, actions speak louder than words. To prove it, Rhys says he hired a cleaner for #26 and he also gives Kyle the number of a doctor at work that needs a pergola built.
KYLE: Thanks.
RHYS: Believe me yet?
KYLE: Getting there. Maybe.
RHYS: Because if you don't, that's it. I've got nothing else. Seriously, are we OK now?
KYLE: Yeah, we're OK.
They shake on it and Rhys suggests they go and get a drink.
Charlie's Bar
Rhys and Kyle chat about their professions, each believing they couldn't do one another's jobs because there's certain skills involved. Summer walks in to hang up some History Wall fliers and Kyle introduces her to new neighbour Rhys, but they tell him they already met at the hospital. Summer brings up the fact that her brother, Boyd, is studying to become a doctor. While they're chatting, Kyle goes to the bar for more drinks and runs into Lucas. He asks Kyle how the situation is with Rhys, but Kyle says everything's cool now and that Rhys is a good guy. Lucas nods but doesn't look as though he believes him.
Erinsborough High
Noah plays his guitar in an empty classroom while the lyrics he's written flash up on screen. He's basically written a song about Kate that goes along the lines of, 'It's because of who you are I can't tell you how I feel'. After a while Noah packs up his guitar and leaves the room, just as Andrew (who has been spying on him) sneaks in and reads Noah's forgotten notebook. When Noah returns he's angry to find Andrew snooping, but Andrew has no shame and gets up in Noah's face about not having a chance in hell with Kate. Speaking of, Kate appears just in time to break up their shoving match and demands to know what's going on.
Third Commercial Break
Erinsborough High
Kate returns and tells the boys they're going to have to explain things to her because Michael's in a meeting. She overheard Andrew calling Noah pathetic and reminds him about the school's policy on bullying. But Andrew says he's no bully and gives Noah an opportunity to divulge the truth before blurting it out for himself.
ANDREW: I was just telling Noah how crazy it is to have a crush on a teacher.
KATE: You're accusing him of having a crush? That's pretty juvenile don't you think?
ANDREW: He does have a crush - and it's on you.
NOAH: No I don't!
ANDREW: He does. There's a song about you in his book.
NOAH: There isn't.
He protests that it's not about Kate, but all Kate can do is stand there and look more and more uneasy by the second.

KATE: Who's it about then?
NOAH: A girl in my class.
