Number 30
The phantom lawnmower starts up. Toadie confides in Sonya that Paul had suspicions about Mark and some problems at work, but Sonya just keeps insisting that he has to tell Kate. Toadie refuses - he could be disbarred. Sonya suggests they work out how she feels then take it from there.
Number 24
Lou is complaining about his aqua- aerobics course, and how he expected some young, pretty women to be there. Yuk. Lucas and Kate tease Lou about it, and Lou goes off for a shower.
Lucas asks Kate if she's heard from Mark because he still has his bike at the garage. Kate tells Lucas it's his problem.
Charlie's
Andrew and Chris are playing pool, and Andrew is mocking him and Tash for having to go to study sessions. Chris tells his friends that if he doesn't pass year 12 and go to uni his dad will kill him. They compare dad notes, and Lucas walks in. His phone rings, and it's Peter Noonan, so he rejects the call.
Lucas tells Chris he has an old 70s classic car to repair today, and Chris wants to help, but has to go to the study sessions.
The Car Lot
Kyle is unpacking gardening stuff from a truck, dancing along to music. Lou catches him, and makes fun of his moves. Lou has found a lawnmower on the side of the road, and has brought it to Kyle to look at to see if it's something he can use. He also wants Kyle to fix a leaky pipe in his kitchen - using the fact that he's invested in his business as a reason to get freebie work! Kyle tells Lou to get lost.
Harold's Store
Sonya and Toadie are having drinks and Sonya finds out that Kate's not working this morning. However, she does walk into the store, and Sonya asks her to come and help her in the community garden that morning. Sophie has taken a real interest in the garden, and Sonya thinks that Kate should take a look.
Number 24
Kyle has had to fix Lou's leaky pipe, and then Lou presents him with a lamp and asks him if he can look at it - right now. Kyle says he'll do it at the weekend, so Lou brings out the contract they signed when taking on the investment. He points out that Kyle signed up to do a 'reasonable amount of maintenance' for him. Kyle is thoroughly peed off.
Charlie's
Chris wins the pool game but says he has to go to the study session. In the meantime, Andrew gets a text from Summer who wants to see a subtitled film at the weekend. This does not make Andrew happy.
CHRIS: If she didn't, she wouldn't be Summer.
ANDREW: Well, it's not exactly my idea of a fun weekend.
CHRIS: You get to hang out with your girlfriend.
ANDREW: Yeah, and then she wants to talk about it afterwards, and I...
Andrew suggests Chris go with Summer instead - he'll even go to his study session for him. He'll take notes and everything.
CHRIS: You'd rather go to a study session than see a movie.
ANDREW: Man, this thing has subtitles.
Andrew points out it means that Chris can go hang out with Lucas and see that 70s car...
Community Garden
Sonya's trying to talk about the garden and Sophie's involvement. Kate's just quiet. Sonya tries to turn the conversation from raising Sophie alone, to being with someone, to being with Mark. Kate walks off, but starts to cry.
Cut to later and the girls are sitting down. Kate confides that she and Mark were probably going to get back together - and then Mark slept with Jade, and then he left. Kate feels like she wasted all her time and effort on something that didn't work out. She doesn't want to waste any more tears over him; after all, he's not coming back.
Charlie's
Kyle runs in and sees Toadie - he HAS to get him out of this contract with Lou. The 'reasonable maintenance' isn't reasonable. Plus, he didn't read the contract before he read it. Toadie tells him to fight fire with fire with Lou.
Supt Hayes comes in, and makes it clear that Toadie must not compromise the Mark situation by saying a word. Toadie says he won't.
Carpenter's Garage
Chris arrives to help Lucas at the garage, and tells him the uni session was cancelled, and his dad's fine with him being here. The garage phone rings and Chris answers: it's Peter Noonan. Chris takes a message, to call him back. Lucas explains that it's his dad's lawyer, and they get to work on the car.
Community Garden
Kate is burning Mark's stuff. Toadie comes over with a coffee for Sonya, and she says she hasn't told Kate anything. Kate does the typical smelling- the- shirt- of- the- man- she- loved thing before throwing it on the fire. Drama queen.
Number 30
Sonya and Toadie are snuggled up on the bed, talking about Kate and Sophie. Sonya realises that Kate needed to move on, and not say anything. Toadie says he saw Supt Hayes today who said he can't say a word to anyone, but Toad is glad he told Sonya.
Kate, meanwhile, considers deleting the 'I love you' text from Mark.
Eden University
Andrew signs up for the class as Chris, and so Tash decides to role play.
TASH: (loudly) So, did you end up hooking up with that guy last night? He was SO hot. Why are all the hot guys gay? You have to tell me all about it.
Andrew glares at her.
The car lot
Lou arrives only to be presented with an invoice. Kyle points out that the contract says he isn't allowed to do any work for free. Lou retorts that he put that clause in to stop Kyle doing free work for the pretty girls and his own mates - plus, he's a retiree, and doesn't have the cash. Kyle tells Lou not to worry - he has a whole two weeks to find the cash.
Carpenter's Garage
Chris is helping out Lucas; he seems to have a real knack for the work.
Eden University
The class has ended and the students file out. Tash talks away at Andrew about how his fashion isn't that good, even for a gay guy. Meanwhile, Chris' dad stands and waits, unable to find his son...
Carpenter's Garage
Chris has fitted something to the car, and Lucas tells them they have to take it for a test drive.
Eden University
Tash is still on at Andrew, wanting to know who the cutest guy was in their class. Okay, it's boring now. George Pappas approaches the two and says he's looking for Chris. Oh, awkward...
Carpenter's Garage
Chris and Lucas return in the car, and Chris really enjoyed himself; he goes inside to grab a couple of beers. George Pappas drives up, gets out and demands to know where his son is. Chris comes out with two beers and Lucas realises that George knew nothing about today. George demands his son get in the car, right now.
