Recap
Paul empathising with Andrew over Summer leaving.
Troy turning up.
Toadie refusing to have anything to do with Troy.
Ramsay Street
With the phantom lawnmower back in the background, Toadie and Callum prepare to set off to get the shopping in for their forthcoming camping trip. Callum confirms he does want to go camping but he'd also like to see Troy before they leave too, so Toadie agrees to set something up and promises not to drag him away like what happened on their last meeting. Callum agrees to forgive Toadie... if he adds marshmallows to the shopping list!
Lassiters Complex
Before he reaches the store, Toadie spots Sonya sitting at a table outside and asks if he can have a word. Sonya pulls a seat out for him and he confesses to overreacting to seeing Troy and Callum muck around because it reminded him so much of his relationship with Callum. Sonya agrees that it's hard but they all need to find a way to make it work, which brings him to the reason he's having this chat - he wants her to get in contact with Troy for him to set up a meeting for Callum. However, there is no need for Sonya to do that because she spots Troy conveniently appearing towards them.
Toadie mentions that he's going camping with Callum but that Cal would like to spend some time with him before they go off. With Sonya's silent approval, he agrees to Toadie's request and they agree to set something up for later that day.
Number 28
The K's debate between themselves the merit of what Toadie is doing. Both come at it from different sides (Susan against, Karl for) and eventually Toadie decides he's heard enough because he's already made his mind up to allow the meeting to take place, plus his motto for dealing with it is, "if you can't compete you can't loose," and leaves with the kero that he came to borrow.
School
Tash, Summer and Chris have decide to come into school to edit their video but really its Chris who is doing the editing with Tash moaning and Summer down in the dumps because of her forthcoming move. They try to cheer Sum up about the move and Chris mentions they are planning a going away party for her, even though she says she doesn't need one - however Tash replies that they do so its party on... that is until Summer bails after Chris mentions that everyone will miss her. She then goes very cool on the idea and walks out suggests they go get some food and get back to work.
Chris then says to Tash that parties really aren't Summer's thing and feels she'd be better off with something that reminds her of them that she can take with her, and no, not the rabbit Tash thought of!
Number 22
And Chris' idea is for everyone to record a video message for Sum but Andrew point- blankly refuses, coming up with the excuse that he's too busy with schoolwork.
Number 30
Sonya and Troy arrive so that he can go out with Callum and Toadie calls Callum out of his room. Cal asks Troy what they plan on doing and he comes up with the idea of showing Cal some of the gear that he uses when he is camping with the army. Toadie puts the brave face on when they two of them depart and Sonya invites him to go for a coffee but he turns her down as he has work to do.
Lassiters Park
Troy shows Cal some of the things he uses when camping with the army (they are his own stuff but very similar to his military ones). Cal is most impressed at how much stuff he doesn't take with him when camping (unlike them) and that he hunts nature for food. The two of them further cement their relationship as they chat away and Troy even suggests that one day the two of them could go camping.
(Later)
Commercial break later and Cal is trying out Troy's camping gear and the gadgets he has (binoculars, compass and a Swiss Army Knife) culminating in them lighting a fire with just the knife and a flint.
School
Chris and Tash have decided to go ahead with the video message for Summer. Tash touches up the war paint, sorry make- up before doing her piece, much to Chris' frustration at how long she is taking! Finally she finishes but by now Chris is in a foul mood although really it's not her, it's because Andrew isn't doing a piece. Tash takes the bull by the horns and gets Andrew down to record a piece although doesn't tell him that when she is calling him!
(Later)
Andrew arrives to re- shoot a scene for the zombie movie (Tash's excuse to get him down) however much to his annoyance, it's literally over in seconds and Tash decides its time for Chris to do his magic and get Andrew to do a piece for the farewell video while she conveniently leaves them to it.
Chris pulls out all the stops to get Andrew to do the piece and finally he relents and records his message. His first attempt is rather lame and just as Chris is about to have a go at him, Summer comes into the classroom looking for Chris and realises who else is there. She is after Chris to decide on something before she kills Tash, and he follows her out of the classroom leaving Andrew alone and this time he records the message the pair of them wanted him to record!
ANDREW: Look Summer, there's so many things I wanted to say to you and I don't know if any of it is going to be good.
Chris is just about to head back into the classroom but stops momentarily to hear what else Andrew says.
ANDREW: I'm not really into the big declaration but its more your sort of thing. What you said to me at Christmas, you were so brave, so amazing. This is something I should have told you a long time ago.
And we don't get to hear what he says because we head off for a commercial break!
Charlie's
"Pinched any nice shirts lately," Karl greets Lucas with when he goes to the bar to order some coffees and spots Lucas sitting having a beer. "None as good as yours," he banters back and the pair of them acknowledge Callum and Troy when they come into the bar before Callum does the intro's and explains what they were up to today. Lucas enquires where his next posting will be (Troy doesn't know yet) and Karl invites them (and Lucas as long as he doesn't mention shirts!) to join himself and Susan, which Troy kindly accepts.
The quartet join a stunned Susan and Karl does the intros. Susan tries to go OTT, embarrassing almost for the others, about how involved Toadie has been with Callum but inadvertently gets out- shown by Callum eating up more of Troy's tales from the front line. Karl is a bit surprised when Susan suddenly announces she'll have her coffee to go as she's going back to work and she watches on looking very uncomfortable as the four of them chat away.
Number 26
Summer continues packing up when Chris calls round, desperate for her to play the DVD so she can hear the message from Andrew. She doesn't want to do that, she'd rather hear it straight from Andrew's mouth, so he leaves the DVD before leaving her to pack.
Charlie's
The trio, Callum especially, lap up more of Troy's tales from the front line especially when he mentioned he hit a landmine.
Toadie enters the bar just as Troy has put his arm on the back of the seat/Callum's shoulder and doesn't look too happy but makes his way over to where they are sitting. Troy invites him to join them for a drink but he declines as they (he and Callum) need to leave for their trip to Colac.
Its like a case of out- doing each other as Toadie too puts his arm along Cal's shoulder as they make their way out of the bar, having witnessed Troy and Callum giving each other the same knuckles farewell he gave Cal before he went off with Troy.
KARL: It's terrific you two can be so amicable. Not everything in life has to be hard right?
TROY: (nonchalant) Yeah.
Lassiters complex
Toadie asks Cal as they make their way out of the bar, that he was glad he had fun and Cal replies that it was pretty cool.
Number 26
Curiosity is getting the better of Sum when she picks up the DVD as she is packing but despite staring at it for what seemed ages; she puts it in the box she is currently packing.
Lassiters Complex
Lucas says bye to Troy (and Sonya) when they reach the post boxes where she is posting a letter. She is pleased to hear that he's made a friend in Lucas (they were chatting about Troy beating him at pool as they walked to where she is) before they begin chatting about his outing with Callum. Troy reports that it went well and thinks that they will be mates. She is pleased to hear that, then asks how Toadie was and looks relived to hear that Toadie didn't pull Cal out early like their last meeting and remarks at how close they are. "Callum is his priority," she tells him, then albeit reluctantly, takes him up on his suggestion of going for a walk before getting something to eat.
Lassiters Lake
Troy and Sonya chat about Callum, and his pursuit to be a comedian, as they make their way along the wooden walkway. They then turn to look at each other and Troy senses that they've re- connected, and reaches down for her hand to hold before they resume their walk along the walkway.
