Lassiter's Complex
A teary Kate is having flashbacks of Jade and Mark being odd around each other which didn't seem relevant to her at the time. She sees Mark walking towards her so she powers over and slaps him while yelling at him for sleeping with Jade. He says it was a mistake but Kate isn't having any of it. She calls him a hypocrite because he made her life hell when he found out that she lied.
KATE: I lied to protect Rebecca and you lied to save yourself.
Number 24
Kate has returned home and she tries to busy herself by picking up some bills. Jade comes out from the bedrooms with her stuff packed and tries to make conversation but Kate is ignoring her.
JADE: Kate, I just want to say that Sonya had nothing to do with this.
KATE: I don't have a problem with Sonya.
Jade wants to know if there's anything at all she can say to make it all well again, but there isn't, so she wheels her luggage out.
Number 28 - Front yard
Karl nicks a finger while gardening so Susan teases him for being cheap and not willing to invest in more than one pair of gardening gloves for the household! There's a weird camera angle coming out of the bin and there's another close up of the bin later on in the scene. Is it a special bin? Anyway, they're interrupted by Lucas walking out of the house in Karl's shirt and yelling goodbye to Libby. He assures Karl that the shirt will be washed before he returns it but Karl is still shooting daggers with his eyes. Lucas happily leaves while Karl rants about how it must be stopped but Susan would prefer that the minded their own business...
Number 28
...Although it would appear that she's keen on questioning Lib about it anyway. She doesn't know why Libby would do the 'friends with benefits' thing with Lucas given their history and upon seeing her mother so worried, Lib fesses up.
LIBBY: It's dad. He's still interfering in my love- life; it's driving me crazy!
SUSAN: Well how is being with Lucas gonna stop that?
LIBBY: I'm not with Lucas. At all.
SUSAN: Well then what's with all the kissy kissy giggly...?
Realisation dawns and Susan looks highly amused.
Harold's Store
Quick shot of Michael making his two second cameo in the episode. He walks out of Harold's with a coffee. Kyle sees Jade looking rather down in the dumps and upon hearing that she's about to hit the hotels, he offers his bed while he sleeps on the floor. She declines and shrugs when he asks if she has other people that she can stay with.
JADE: I don't do 'mates', remember? And this is why. You cross some line you didn't even know existed and everything goes to hell. I'd rather run my own race.
She's giving up because it's best that she doesn't stuff up anyone else's life.
Number 24
Kate is doing what she does when angry: she's cleaning. Kyle tries to put in a good word for Jade by saying that Jade doesn't really get the whole 'mates' thing.
KATE: Is that the line she spun? "Don't be mad at me 'cause I don't know how to be a good friend", how old is she?!
KYLE: That's a bit harsh.
She then has a go at Kyle for not telling her about her ex hooking up with her best friend since Kyle found out several hours before Kate did. Kyle doesn't think that it was his place to but Kate insists that as her friend he should have. She asks him to leave so she can finish mopping the floor.
Outside Harold's Store
Kate drops things while she tries to clean a table and a passing Mark goes over to try to help. She just wants him to leave and there's nothing he can do to fix things and make it right.
Charlie's
Sitting side by side are Lucas and Karl in their matching striped shirts. Karl is still shooting daggers at his shirt on Lucas but Lucas just smiles at him and keeps drinking his beer. Susan suggests that she and Karl go out for dinner to give Libby and Lucas some space and Karl drags Susan off for a chat. He doesn't get why Susan has done a back flip on Libby/Lucas and he looks kind of suss when Susan says that her chat with Libby put things in a different light.
Back at the table, Libby wants Lucas to join them for dinner. Karl is OK with it. In fact, he's done quite the back flip on the situation himself.
KARL: I did have some reservations before about, you know, things going too quickly. But Susan made me see it more clearly.
SUSAN (confused): Oh, well good.
KARL: Very open minded, your mother.
LIBBY: Oh I don't want to know.
Karl then tries to rope Lucas into doing a freebie check on his car and Lucas makes a hasty exit.
Lassiter's Complex
Kyle hands Jade the business card for a local budget hotel. He tells her that his talk to Kate didn't go well and he's in the dog house too. Jade doesn't think it's fair on him to be dragged into it but she's touched that he tried to stick up for her. They head off for a pizza and Kate comes out of Harold's and looks upset at seeing Kyle and Jade bantering and joking.
Number 24
Jade has come to pick up the makeup bag that she left behind and is surprised when Kate wants to talk to her.
KATE: Do you want to know the stupidest thing? The most unfair thing? Is that I've done absolutely nothing wrong but I'm the one who's lost everything.
Hmmmm. Jade apologises but Kate doesn't think that she really understands friendship. She's willing to be friends with Jade but it'll be on her terms and until Jade can prove that she's a good friend, by Kate's definition, then there's a lot to sort out.
JADE: Wait, sorry. So I have to be on my best behaviour and learn your code of friendship, and then you'll be my friend.
KATE: Well yeah, it's the only way to do it.
JADE: No. Sorry, I'm not interested.
Number 24
Things are tense as Jade walks out with her makeup bag. She tries to break the ice by elaborating on what she said before - she did something terrible but Kate can't expect her to be somebody she's not and forever hold it over her head. Kate takes it on board and understands that it's exactly what Mark did to her. They make peace and Kate tells Jade to stay at number 24 until she finds somewhere else to stay.
Number 28
Karl is phoning Lucas which worries Libby and Susan because if he pushes Lucas too hard, Lucas will bail on the plan. He prepares to Skype Ben, who has just come second in hurdles at school sports.
KARL: I was more of a long distance man. Endurance is my thing.
He makes sexy eyes at Susan but Libby is utterly disgusted. Karl suggests telling Ben about Lucas and Libby is forced to tell Karl that she's not with Lucas - but Karl already knew since Susan's one- eighty gave it away. Father and daughter then launch into a friendly domestic about his interference before Susan calls a truce.
Number 28 - Evening
Karl and Susan are doing a jigsaw puzzle when talk turns to Lib. Karl wants Libby to be happy and independent - she's still living at home with her parents and he thinks that perhaps she doesn't have the confidence to stand on her own two feet. Susan theorises that with everything she's been through, maybe parental support is what Libby needs but Karl sounds unconvinced.
Number 24
Kate offers Jade some of the dinner that she's cooking up and they smile at each other. Kyle comes over to drop off some car yard stuff for Lou and he's happy to see that the girls have made up.
KYLE: You two are great mates.
KATE: Even though she's a bit of an idiot.
JADE: Hey!
KYLE: She's an idiot, but she's fun, and you'd probably miss her if she wasn't around.
KATE: Yeah, well you would too, apparently.
KYLE: Yeah, she's almost as awesome as I am.
Jade looks all sweet at the friendly compliments coming from Kyle and grins when he asks her to duck over to his place for a bit.
Number 26
Jade thanks Kyle for making a difference and sticking up for her but he downplays it by saying he'd do it for a mate anytime. She looks hopeful when he hesitatingly wants to ask her something, but her face falls when she finds that Kyle wants her to help him out in his pursuit of Kate. He really likes her but he needs some inside knowledge and maybe Jade could talk him up a little. She agrees to help him out but looks absolutely cut.

KYLE: Does she like flowers, chocolates?
JADE: Go out there and grab her. Just grab her, and pash the life out of her.
(Kyle tries to outside Harold's)
KATE (laughingly): What are you doing?
KYLE: Everything I know about chicks is telling me that grabbing her is all wrong.
(Shot of Troy sipping coffee at Harold's)
TOADIE: Has Troy said how long he's sticking around for?
SONYA: I don't think he's in a hurry to leave.
(Number 30)
SONYA: Cal's meeting Troy today.
(Callum pats Toadie's arm)
CALLUM: It'll be OK.
HAROLD (to Toadie): Because Callum loves you and nothing will change that.
TROY (to Sonya): I don't blame him. He spent years with the kid. He's put in the work and then I show up out of the blue.
(Sonya, Toadie, Callum and Troy meet up at Harold's)
SONYA: Callum, this is Troy.
