Number 22
Tomas comes to the door, wanting to know about numbers for the party. Andrew says he doesn't know yet, he's hoping for a last minute rush. Tomas quietly tells him to send the numbers ASAP so he can sort the 'stuff' for the night. Andrew agrees.
Number 24
Kyle turns up to talk to Jade, but she's not there, and Lucas is gobsmacked to hear that Kyle's been sacked. So is Kate. Kyle begs Kate to convince Jade to forgive him, but Kate points out he still has his job at the car yard - why does he need this job? Kyle explains that he's about to be evicted from his house, and feeling sorry for him, Kate invites Kyle to have dinner with her and Lucas at Charlie's.
Kyle's all coy, so Kate suggests that Lucas will pay seeing as Kyle clearly can't afford it!
Charlie's
Kyle thinks perhaps he'll only order chips, but Lucas agrees to order a steak for him, too. Kyle cheekily asks for a couch to sleep on, so Kate has to explain that she has a full house.
Mark comes in and has a go at Kyle for breaking the law. Kyle explains what happened, so Kate offers him a dessert as well as dinner! But Kyle needs cash desperately, especially to pay the fine. Kate tells him to leave it with her.
Harold's
Kate's on the phone to try and get an advance for Kyle from Lou, but Lou's having none of it. Lucas orders a toastie and coffee, but Kate says it will take time - Lyn's not in and someone else is off sick.
So - hey, why doesn't Kyle help out?! It will pay the rent at least!
LUCAS: Are you sure that's a good idea? I mean, I like the guy, but he's a walking disaster.
Kate says it'll be fine - he used to work for Charlie's, after all!
Erinsborough High School
The kids are waiting on the footie pitch for a talk from Mark on partying responsibly. On the footie pitch?! Anyway, Michael introduces Mark and he starts his boring talk.
Mark says he knows there's an all ages gig tonight, so tells them to have fun, but avoid any illegal behaviour. He reminds them about peer pressure as Andrew gets a text from Tomas, demanding to know numbers for the party again. Michael tells Andrew to put his phone away, and Mark gives out leaflets about dobbing in their mates if they see illegal behaviour.
Andrew stares at the business card that Mark's given out.
Lassiter's
Cut straight to Lassiter's where Tomas tells Andrew that no- one will call the cops because no- one's going to see anything. Andrew's worried that the kids will now be on the lookout for dodgy behaviour, but Tomas tells him he's just jumpy. Tomas tells Andrew to get rid of the rest of the tickets. Paul overhears and approaches them, wondering how his investment is going. Tomas makes polite conversation and leaves.
Paul asks his son if there's anything he should know about. Andrew tells him about the school talk on responsible partying, and says he just hopes none of the attendees bail on him. Paul looks concerned, none- the- less.
Harold's
Andrew orders a coffee and is surprised to see Kyle there, taking orders with a pen with a GIANT blue feather on the end of it. He wonders how many jobs Kyle has! Kyle tries to upsell, but Andrew's having none of it!
Paul comes in and tells Andrew that he's solved his safety problem at the party - some of his security guys are going to be there to keep a look out. Whoops, that wasn't quite what Andrew had in mind...
Erinsborough High School
Summer and Tash are chatting, but Sum's distracted watching Andrew on the phone to Tomas. Andrew ignores Tash, but Summer encourages Andrew, reminding him that he's always made the right decisions when it comes to business. Summer and Tash wonder why Andrew is so downcast about the party.
Harold's
Mark comes in and sees Kyle serving behind the counter with Kate. He orders a toastie. Michael comes in.
MICHAEL: Apron's a good look on ya.
KYLE: When you're this hot anything works.
Mike thanks Kyle for looking after Tash yesterday, especially as it means he missed a work appointment. Michael orders a coffee and Kyle manages to upsell with a red cupcake! Kate's impressed. She's also impressed that he missed his appointment because he was being a friend. Mark watches them, annoyed.
Cut to later where two customers have returned coffees, and Michael is also returning his. Kate tastes it and it's awful. Kyle apologises profusely. Kyle admits that all the coffees have been sent back so far.
KATE: Didn't you ever make coffee down at Charlie's?
KYLE: Rebecca wouldn't let me. She said they were awful.
KATE: And you didn't think to mention that before now?
KYLE: I can do everything else...
KATE: This is a coffee shop! So you've kind of gotta be good at making coffees.
Mark seems amused by their exchange, but is annoyed again when Kate is kind to Kyle.
Cut to later where Kate's in the kitchen and Mark comes in for a new fork. He didn't want to ask Kyle because he's 'an idiot'. Kate sticks up for Kyle, who interrupts their conversation. He asks Kate if she's okay before leaving again. Mark says that Kyle is as thick as a brick so Mark strops out.
Number 22
Tomas comes to the door utterly furious that Paul has put security on the door at the party. Andrew agrees to get his dad to back off. Tomas hands Andrew a bill for the security he's hired instead - it's a massive bill to pay them to look the other way. And it's coming out of Andrew's cut. Andrew's way out of his depth and he knows it.
Harold's
Kate pays Kyle for the day, and gives him a little bit extra, too, to cover the rent. As Kyle's leaving Mark makes a jibe about him sorting out the fine, and the fact that Kate's overpaid him. He points out that Kyle shouldn't take advantage.
Kyle says he won't. After all, with someone that hot, any guy would be an idiot to let her go. Ha.
Number 22
Andrew counts the cash he's made for the party, which isn't much. He thinks about calling his dad but Paul comes home at that point. He tells his dad that he's cancelled security, and organised his own. Paul accepts this and tells his son he's proud of him.
Charlie's
Andrew's putting up posters when Summer comes over to say hello to him. He wants to know what she wants - he's under pressure right now. She wants to know what's wrong, but he dismisses her and tells her to go home.
Cut to later where Andrew's handing out tickets to some punters. Michael and Tash come in, impressed that he's still at it. Andrew ignores her. Tash asks her dad if she can go to the party but he says no straight out. Summer comes over and asks to buy two tickets. Andrew's reluctant, but Summer convinces him - she just wants to support him.
Tash tells her dad she quickly needs to speak to Summer, and runs off after her friend.
Harold's
Tash catches up with Summer and thinks it's weird that Andrew was reluctant to sell tickets to her - she thinks he's acting strangely about the whole party. He should be excited, not stressed. Tash thinks there's something going on, but Summer thinks she's overreacting and tells her to stay out of it.
Charlie's
Tash returns and Michael pops to the bathroom. Tash takes this opportunity to buy a ticket from Andrew. He reminds her that she's grounded, so she questions him about why he's so jumpy and worried about the party. She wants to know what's going on, and doesn't buy his excuse. He sells her a ticket anyway and she strops off.
