Recap
Callum having dreams about his mum.
Sonya comforting Callum.
The men and women competing to sell the best calendar.
Chris being nice to Tash; Summer's not happy about it.
Erinsborough High School
Chris offers to walk home with Tash. Delighting in her new- found friendship, she starts bagging Summer, so Chris calls her on it. Tash waves her hands in the air and stops.
Number 30
Callum gets home from school and announces to Sonya and his dad that he hates history. He hands a note to Toadie for a detention slip - he has to stay late all next week for falling asleep in class. He says it's because he's bored in class, but Toadie wonders if perhaps his dreams are still worrying him. What if he was dreaming about his mum?
Toadie's mobile beeps - it's from Karl, who says that they're counting the calendar receipts down at Harold's. Toadie wants to stay at home and talk about Callum's school detention, but Cal points out that Lyn is doing the counting. They need to be there.
Harold's
Callum and Kate are counting receipts as Karl, Toadie and Jade watch on. Lyn's hiding in the kitchen, too scared to hear the results. Jade banters about winning with Toadie, and she reminds them that if the men lose they have to give up the shed. Toadie is annoyed that the women don't have to give anything up if they lose, so suggest they have to keep quiet for 24 hours.
JADE: Sorry, no!
KARL: I like it!
Jade shakes on it. And whilst they're bantering, Callum hides some receipts in his pockets, and announces that the men have won. Kate agrees - by sixteen calendars. Toad and Karl rejoice.
Lassiter's
Chris invites Tash for a game of pool, so she begs her dad to let her. Michael, as ever, gives in, and Tash gets her own bratty way. She promises to be home by seven, as Michael gets a text to say they've won the calendar comp, and are keeping the shed.
Tash is annoyed to learn from Chris that Summer just called and will be joining them.
Charlie's
Tash and Chris have set up a game of pool, and Tash is bragging about how good she is at pool, because it's all about maths.
Summer arrives and apologises to Chris for her behaviour earlier in the week. She admits she lost it.
TASH: You sure did.
Summer asks if she can hang out with Chris, and he readily agrees, which annoys Tash no end. Because, obviously, if she's friends with someone, no- one else can be.
Ramsay Street
Outside number 30, Callum and Toadie are putting stuff in the car for the men's shed in celebration that it's still theirs. Sonya arrives.
SONYA: Hello!
TOADIE: Someone didn't get the memo...
She's frustrated that the men got the shed, and is horrified to learn that she can't speak for 24 hours. Toadie tells her to use the powerful art of mime. She gives in and walks away. Toadie's going to take the stuff to the shed, and Callum doesn't want to go.
He says he needs to stick around. To do some homework with Sophie. Toadie doesn't believe it, but Cal covers and says since he got a detention he obviously does need to catch up. Toadie concedes and Callum walks back into the house...
Number 30
...where he gets out that toy gorilla thing and closes his eyes, willing memories to come. They don't, so he sticks the TV on.
Cut to later where Callum has fallen asleep on the couch, and is dreaming again about his mum. His dad walks in and he wakes up, claiming he was just off to Sophie's. Toadie finds the gorilla toy on the floor and realises that it's still bothering Cal.
Harold's
Karl and Lucas are gathering snacks for the men's shed celebration. They try to leave without paying, and deliberately wind Kate up when she mimes that she wants their cash before they leave. Karl asks Lyn lots of questions that she can't answer, so has to act out. Her rendition of a crab in 'crab soup' is rather nifty.
As Karl and Lucas leave, Callum asks to speak to Karl in private. He says that he's doing a school project on memories, referencing his dreams about his mum. Callum says that he's seen research on the net that says dreams can get blocked, if the mind finds them too upsetting. He wonders how someone can access those memories.
Karl tells him there's a few things that can be done - hypnosis, revisiting people or places, role play - and they can explore them in one of their sessions together. But no need. Callum stopped listening at 'revisiting places' and already has his idea. Cal leaves.
Out on Karl, worried.
Number 30
Callum looks up an address on the 'Erinsways'(!) website. (Think Melways meets Google Earth.) Toadie comes in and asks about Callum's homework, and tells him he's organised a few more sessions with Karl. Cal readily agrees and goes back to his room, sad.
Charlie's
Chris wins the game of pool and Tash suggests she let him win. Chris goes to get drinks, whilst Tash goad Summer about how lovely Chris is, and how wonderful it is that he's the only person who understands what she's going through. Someone she can really connect with. Summer tells Tash she knows exactly what she's doing, and the only reason she's hanging out with them is so she can watch when Tash stuffs up her act.
Tash claims ignorance. Summer has a go at her and Chris interrupts - what's going on here?
Cut to moments later where the drinks are on the table and Chris demands to know what's going on. Tash says that she's not trying to steal Chris, she's just lonely with no- one to talk to. She admits that she can't blame Summer for being suspicious. She really does want to be friends, she's not being shady.
Chris tells Summer to let him choose his own friends. Tash smirks. Chris tells Tash to stop winding Summer up. Chris sets up the pool table again whilst Tash tells Summer that she'll be a better friends that Sum ever was. *Yawn*
Harold's
Cal leaves a message on Sophie's phone for her to call him. He takes his milkshake, and pulls out the contents of his pocket to find money to pay for it. After handing the cash over, he repacks his pockets, but forgets the receipts which have the actual numbers on for the calendar count. Lyn picks it up...
She comes over to the table where Toadie, Callum and Karl are sitting and calls them a pack of cheats. Lyn demands to know if there are any more receipts. Callum takes the receipts out and puts them on the table. Toadie's obviously disappointed, and Cal explains that he didn't want them to lose the shed.
Lyn declares victory for the women, and wants to claim their prize. She's going to let the girls know. Plus, she's going to be extra chatty, now.
Karl and Toadie are devastated.
Number 30
TOAD: You can't decorate a men's shed.
KARL: Paint.
TOAD: Curtains.
KARL: Furniture.
TOAD: They can't throw out our furniture!
KARL: Much loved! Steeped in history!
TOAD: Oh! Our beer!
KARL: You didn't...
TOAD: I left it in there...
Callum comes in after his punishment of cleaning the kitchen and oven. Karl wonders if perhaps they could call Lyn and recover some of it before the girls take over.
Sonya returns home and tells them all about her great night; they have such good plans for the women's shed. So she'd better get an early night.
KARL: We're never gonna get our beer back.
TOAD: There's a spare key at Lucas' place.
KARL: They'll never know...
They leave Callum behind, and he tries to call Sophie again. He gets through, and tells her that he needs her help at 0700 tomorrow. Please? She's his best friend and he needs someone he can trust.
An extra scene was inserted into episode broadcast in UK, to commerate the Royal Wedding on 29th April 2011:
Charlie's
Kate is sitting at a table, watching television - the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Lucas joins her and tries to turn over to the footy, but Kate points out that other people are watching as well: majority rules. Lucas says he'll go to the men's shed, then, but Kate reminds him that it's now the women's shed. Lucas gives in and orders a beer. He then sits down at the table and mutters:
LUCAS: This is what it's going to be like from now on, isn't it: Royal Weddings and frilly cushions.
KATE: Shh!
Kate stares at the TV as crowds of people roar in delight. Lucas watches as well and comments suddenly:
LUCAS: That dress is gorgeous.
KATE: Mmm. 'Princess Kate.' It's got a nice ring to it, huh!
Lucas grins at her!
(End of extra scene)
Number 30
Cut to next morning where Callum is creeping around with a rucksack, getting ready to leave. Toadie walks in and says he heard his son up, wondering what he's up to. He says that he and Sophie are spending the day doing a movie marathon, and promises to stay away from MA movies. Toadie goes back to bed.
Callum leaves a note on the sofa to his dad and Sonya and leaves.
