Previously on Neighbours
Tash being offered the role of the face of Lassiters
Summer telling Natasha to drop the bimbo act.
Paul bugging Toadie's phones.
Toadie telling Steph about the new mobile phone he will use to contact Sonya on.
Andrew explaining to Declan what he did and being told he is going to destroy Paul.
Number 22
Andrew is trying to get Declan to help him sort out his Diana mess when Paul and Rebecca come downstairs, interrupting their terse chat. Rebecca hands Declan a dirty nappy for the bin and as he heads outside, he calls Diana.
Harold's Store (next day)
Tash is going on about her being the face of Lassiters (the poster campaign is almost ready to launch) but finds Andrew paying no attention to what she is saying, so she gets him to unload on her. He explains he's in a hole so deep he can't get out of but she is sure he'll get out of it; after all he is a Robinson!
They break off the pash session when they spot Summer entering the store and Andrew leaves so Tash can have a chat with Summer. She begins by thanking her for the advice last week which Sum isn't exactly over- enjoyed about getting before she heads to the counter to pay for her water.
Number 22
Paul is number- crunching when Rebecca comes over with a coffee for him (and Andrew enters the house quietly). He explains the numbers aren't looking good at all for PirateNet and he rejects her suggestion of bringing Declan on board for suggestions, replying that he's done more than enough!
Lassiters mezzanine
Declan thanks Diana for meeting him.
Number 22
Rebecca is alarmed to find out that PirateNet could fold and she wants to let the staff know. Andrew makes himself known as Rebecca heads upstairs to see to her crying granddaughter.
Lassiters mezzanine
Declan tells Diana that he knows Andrew gave her the figures and that he knows about Paul moving money around. He promises to give her more on condition that it only involves Paul, that Rebecca isn't involved.
Number 22
Paul explains to his son that things aren't good... all over. They discuss Diana and Andrew promises he'll do all that he can to help and Paul wants that to begin with Andrew attending the meeting at PirateNet.
PAUL: It's good to have you in my corner. Least I know I can rely on family.
Lassiters mezzanine
Diana isn't sympathetic to Rebecca's plight at all despite Declan telling her that she knows nothing about it at all.
DIANA: If you really wanted to help your mum, you should have talked to me when you had the chance. Choose your sides better the next time.
Number 26
Sum is surprised to see Tash on her doorstep carrying a pile of clothes. Its Tash's plan to get Summer to dress better (especially for Chris) but she isn't appreciative of the help and chucks Tash out of the house!
Charlie's
Declan tries to chat to his mum but she's in a rush to get to the PirateNet meeting. She correctly guesses that there is strife with Paul involving Andrew but he rejects her offer to talk as he wants to deal with it himself, adding that she's better off out of it.
PirateNet
Rebecca is trying to get Paul to talk to Declan but he's anxious to get the meeting started as the staff are gathering and adds that they've got it covered between the three of them.
The meeting begins with Paul thanking everyone for coming before going on to say that they've been losing listeners and to rectify it they've signed up Paddy Sullivan. The staff aren't amused and even Rebecca admits she doesn't like him but they need the listeners. Zeke, Mel and the other random people decide to quit in progress, shouting "strike" as they storm out of the building, despite Paul ordering them to get back.
(Later)
While they play pre- recorded music, Paul tries to persuade Paddy to start a bit earlier than intended... like in 15 minutes rather than the couple of days he expected and instead gets the phone put down on him! Paul is reeling that the staff have walked out and that they're running out of pre- recorded material when Andrew presents Paul with their new DJ - Donna!
And today's trip down memory lane is back to the 20th anniversary celebrations in 2005 when Toadie caught up with the returning Lance Wilkinson. (Episode 4772 in the archive if you want to read more.)
PirateNet
Paul is fretting that while Donna can talk for Australia, there is 2 days to fill before Paddy can start and she is likely to have wrecked the studio by them too (she plunged the station into silence momentarily after hitting some buttons). Andrew is one step ahead though - he's contacted ex- PirateNet DJ's and has the first day covered although there is a 4 hour gap until the first one arrives... which can be filled by Donna. Rebecca is all for it (especially as Donna is okay with covering while Zeke and co are on strike) and the trio head into the studio as the countdown timer indicates its almost time for Donna to be on air.
(Later)
Donna is having a ball... and the minor technical hic- up as she covers for Zeke (Andrew lied and told her Zeke was ill). She opens the lines to chat and the first caller is told to "get out of your bedroom but don't stalk," when he complains he's never had a girlfriend (22 years old and into computers). The second one is told to "just do something nice for your brother" after cashing in his rare coins to buy herself a pair of shoes!
Harold's Store
Tash forgoes drinks with her dad (their school holiday treat) to think of something to thank Summer with (even if she isn't wanting anything).
Charlie's
Zeke leads Mel and the striking PirateNet folk into the bar and they are stunned to hear Donna on the waves. Kate confirms it is Donna and that she sounds good. Mel is annoyed at a friend of his replacing them and he storms out of the bar.
Ramsay Street
Rebecca, Paul, Donna and Andrew return home after Donna's fill- in stint at PirateNet. Donna is hyper after having so much fun... and talking for 4½ hours! Andrew wants them to celebrate but Donna first wants to check how Zeke is after she spots him in the #22 driveway. Zeke then informs her that she filled in because they were on strike and everyone now thinks he's mates with a scab.
DONNA: No, no, no...
ZEKE: I know that these two are dodgy, Donna, but I was expecting more from you.
He walks off in a huff and Donna confronts Andrew (he told her Zeke had gastro). Rebecca isn't amused either but Paul's tuppenceworth is that she technically didn't do anything wrong.
DONNA: Are you serious? Seriously, you can all go stuff your radio station.
REBECCA: You can justify this however you want, it is still wrong.
Rebecca follows Donna into the house giving Paul and Andrew a momentary glare.
Paul however grins and then pats his son on the shoulder after Andrew confirms he got Donna to do the slot for free.
Harold's Store
Summer is doing her best to carry on reading and ignoring Tash as she prattles on about her and Chris. Tash has found a touchy point and asks if he's dumped her or if he is a player. "Chris isn't a player," Sum angrily replies back before blurting out that all they did in the hotel room was watch TV, which causes Tash begin laughing.
Ramsay Street
Tash tries to apologise to Summer as they walk home but is told not to talk to her before they separate when she cuts over to #26.
Michael spots his daughter and asks how the time with Summer was (fine) before suggesting that she invites her over for dinner one night. Tash isn't keen on that but Michael tells her that she needs to have some mates.
Number 22
Paul listens in to the latest conversations Toadie's had but is annoyed that there is nothing he can use.
Meanwhile Rebecca apologises again to Donna over what happened at the station especially as she was fantastic and Paul blurts out that she is on air again tomorrow!
REBECCA: (to Donna) You will do what you feel comfortable with (turning to Paul) and we will support you, won't we Paul!
PAUL: Isn't it time she gave back a little to this family?
Rebecca is astounded at what he's just said and orders Donna upstairs "because this is going to get ugly."
REBECCA: Don't ever let me hear you say something like that again.
The two of them start arguing and it quickly turns into an argument about Declan and Andrew and their loyalty.
REBECCA: I don't know what is going on because Declan won't tell me and neither will you, but whatever it is you are blaming him for, you blame Andrew, he's got history.
It then dawns on Paul (with the aid of a few flashbacks) how Diana knows about the embezzlement.
Andrew's bedroom
Final commercial break later and Andrew is in his room opening a birthday card he got from Harry but he quickly hides the card under his pillow when Paul knocks and then enters his room.
Paul shows him 2 pieces of paper - one showing $100k coming out of Lassiters and the same amount appearing in the PirateNet account. He then reveals that he is the one who did it and asks his son how Diana knows about that too.
ANDREW: ...
PAUL: I'm not a fool Andrew. Those transactions were well hidden.
ANDREW: ...
PAUL: What were you trying to do? Impress her with your fabulous accounting skills were you? Show her classified information and just walk her though it were you eh?
(Angrily grabbing the papers from Andrew's bed as he attempts to explain)
PAUL: (shouting) OH SHUT UP ANDREW. Just...
(Paul goes to walk out of the room)
ANDREW: Dad... please.
At that Paul turns round and gives his son a look of utter contempt before slamming the door shut.
