Recap
- Andrew trashing the street.
- Summer trying to help Lyn out with her romantic life.
- Lyn finding the ultrasound DVD in the poetry book.
- Dr Harris promising not to breach medical ethics and disclose anything about the pregnancy.
- Lyn watching the DVD and seeing that the dates don't match up.
Number 26
Steph blusters about making tea but Lyn wants an explanation, not a herbal infusion. She demands to know how Steph was twelve weeks pregnant in March. Steph tells her to leave it. Obviously Lyn won't leave it so Steph admits that she's obviously sixteen weeks pregnant. She tells her mother it's complicated (an understatement). Lyn can't see how, she and Toad got together four weeks before she went away and....Oh! Lyn realises Sonya was on the scene back then.
STEPH: I don't want to talk about it.
LYN: I knew this didn't make sense. You going away. Rejecting Lucas. Oh! I knew it!
STEPH: (hestitantly) Ok, so er, now you know the truth.
LYN: So you and Toadie lied because you were ashamed. Uh! You should be.
Number 30
A very flustered Steph relays the news that the book hiding the DVD found its way across to Number 26 and now Lyn knows! Well, she knows the dates, just not the daddy. Toadie says they've got to stop Lyn from saying anything.
STEPH: Yeah, because she's so good at keeping secrets!
They get Lyn over and thankfully she's calmed down a fair bit. She asks Steph if she loves Toadie and Steph tells her "of course"
LYN: You're getting better at hiding it but I can still read you like a book. I do understand love, you're together because of the baby, otherwise you'd be with Lucas, wouldn't you?
Steph denies still being in love with Lucas. Lyn tells her it's not too late to get it all out in the open - Lucas would understand and Sonya is out of the picture. Toadie comes in and tells her they've made up their minds. Lyn thinks it is crazy and unnecessary but Steph and Toad have made up their minds and need Lyn to keep it to herself.
LYN: (panicked) This doesn't make sense, kids. There is something else going on...
STEPH: Just promise me.
LYN: What you've told me...the whole truth?
STEPH: Yes!
LYN: Alright I promise.
Number 22
Paul is back from New York - nice place to visit, wouldn't want to work there - with news that Elle is doing well, but is never in one place long enough to sit down. Andrew wonders if they can talk about him staying in Erinsborough. They can, but Paul is going to make him stew a little bit until tomorrow. Rebecca tries to fight his corner, but Paul is too jet lagged to deal with it.
Andrew calls in reinforcements.
Charlie's
Rebecca wants to know what Paul is going to do about Andrew. Paul is too preoccupied with paperwork and cash injections and referbs to have thought much about it. Susan passes by and informs Paul that she's studying ethics in the media at uni so she'll be keeping a very close eye on the paper.
PAUL: What else is new?
Andrew, Summer, Harry, Sophie and Ben all come in for OJs before soccer practise and Susan informs Paul that Andrew started up a team for the kids. Paul can see right through Andrew's plan, but seems pleased nevertheless.
Harold's
Callum didn't think that lending the poetry book to Summer would be such a big deal. Toadie explains that sharing is good, but you need to ask the owner's permission first! He says there's no harm done, but that's like the understatement of the millennium. Callum goes off to soccer practise leaving Steph and Toadie in a state of anxiety. Lucas comes in having received an urgent message from Lyn. Lyn takes him into the kitchen and Steph and Toadie pull "uh- oh" faces. Steph hurriedly follows them but Lucas is only mending a tap so there's a heap of awkward.
Lyn follows Steph out of the kitchen and thanks her for the vote of confidence. She believes her daughter is lying to her. She's in love with Lucas.

Lassiters Complex
Susan comments to Lyn that Lucas is a nice bloke, but Lyn is a bit distracted. Steph is also still freaking out and needs some space.
Number 22
Meal time is silent and uncomfortable in the Robinson household, especially when Andrew forgets his manners. They talk about soccer training and Paul thinks it's nice that Andrew is making an effort with the neighbours considering he vandalised their properties. Paul explains that Rebecca has told him everything about his behaviour, the parties, the bins etc. He thinks Andrew has made it very difficult for everyone in the street. Andrew chimes in that his mother doesn't want him back. Paul tells him not to use emotional blackmail on him.
ANDREW: I know I've made mistakes, I know I've messed up but I'm trying to change.
REBECCA: Well maybe there's another way. Have you thought about boarding school?
ANDREW: Boarding school?!
Rebecca thinks it might give him some discipline and structure, but what Andrew thinks he needs is a dad. He came to get to know Paul and he wants him to be proud of him.
ANDREW: Please dad, don't give up on me.
Charlie's
It looks like Andrew is staying and Summer and Harry are pleased. Rebecca hopes Paul made the right decision. Paul points out that he's cut Declan some slack when he needed it. Rebecca thinks Andrew's problems are bigger than teenage rebellion. Paul feels that out of his sons Andrew is his last chance. He gets a call from the builders and he tells them that there's been a bit of a mix up but they'll be paid tomorrow. Rebecca tells Andrew not to let Paul down.
Number 30
Steph is having a lie down when Lyn comes bustling in. She realises the baby is being rather demanding and says it's karma from when Steph zapped all her energy when she was pregnant with her. Lyn wants a talk but Steph thinks they've said everything they need to say. Lyn says it's not the 1950s so Steph isn't obliged to stay with Toadie for the baby and the baby would be a lot better off if she was happy and she's not.
LYN: When you were with Lucas, Stephie you were so alive. You had this light in your eyes, you don't have it any more. All that's there now is sadness and worry and something. Something you're hiding from me. You can tell me anything.
Steph is really struggling to bit her tongue but Lyn carries on. She doesn't think that Steph can be doing this for Lucas because they weren't together at the time, and Sonya is out of the picture now so why? Steph tells her it's for the baby but Lyn can't see how trapping herself in an unhealthy relationship will help the baby.
LYN: All the lies!
STEPH: Oh mum please just stop...
LYN: Hey, it's ok to feel guilty you know that's one thing but to punish yourselves and your child...
Frustrated Steph gets to her feet and shouts at her mother that she doesn't know what she's talking about. Lyn shouts back at her that it's because she won't tell her anything and then Steph screams,
STEPH: IT'S NOT TOADIE'S BABY IT'S DAN'S! DAN. DAN FITZGERALD. I AM HAVING DAN FITZGERALD'S BABY!!
Lyn can hardly breathe with shock.
After the break, unburdened, Steph tries to explain that it was a mistake, the biggest mistake she's ever made. Lyn can't believe that she betrayed her best friend.
STEPH: You said I could tell you anything, mum.
LYN: How can you look Libby in the face?
STEPH: Oh mum, please. Please, Libby is like my sister, if this gets out I'll lose her friendship forever.
LYN: (snapping)Oh you reckon? You should have thought of that before you...
STEPH: (tearfully) What do you want me to do? Do you want me to leave the street? Because I will, that's the only other option I have.
LYN: (practically in tears herself)STEPHIE!! Stephie, Stephie, Stephie!
STEPH: If this gets out everyone will...
LYN: Stephieee!
Toadie walks in as the pair continue to shout at one another. Lyn turns on Toadie and asks if the lie was all his idea. He admits that it was, but is confused as he thought they'd sorted everything out.
STEPH: Mum knows everything Toad. Everything.
Lyn thinks it all makes sense now. Toadie tells her she has to keep it all to herself, but Lyn snarls at him not to tell her want to do and leaves the house.
Rotunda
Lyn is sitting trying to process everything when Susan comes along. She sees that Lyn is upset and sits down with her and asks what's wrong. Lyn looks at Susan and struggles to find an answer for her, caught between protecting her daughter and her truthful conscience. Eventually she manages to tell Susan that she's just having a bad day, but Susan thinks it looks like more than that.
SUSAN: It's all right. You don't have to say anything. I'm happy just to sit here with you.
They hold hands and Susan tells Lyn that Steph will be fine. She's been through a turbulent time but she's smart and Toadie is a good man. Lyn isn't so sure.
SUSAN: Doesn't matter how old they get, they're still our kids aren't they?
Number 30
Steph apologises to Toadie for telling Lyn, but it just came out. Toadie wonders if she thinks that Lyn will really keep it a secret. Steph needs to let Lyn calm down before she tries to speak to her again. Toad asks if she feels better for getting it off her chest. She doesn't really, maybe she would if her mother didn't hate her. He starts to tell her that Lyn doesn't hate her when Lyn comes through the door.
LYN: You both need to hear this. I don't condone what you've done not for a second. But you are still my daughter and I love you. (She pulls a teddy bear out of a bag.) You gave him back to me when you were nine and I thought my grandchild might like him. I'm not proud of myself, but I would rather keep the secret than have you leave, so I promise I'll keep it between the three of us.
Steph hugs her mum very tightly.
General Store
Andrew joins Summer and Harry, but Rebecca catches up with Andrew before he can get too comfy. She just had a call from Kyle Canning and wants to know whether Andrew told him he could have his job back.
ANDREW: Only in passing.
REBECCA: Who died and made you the boss of my business?
ANDREW: I thought I was doing you a favour. This morning at lunch you said you needed some help.
Surely you have lunch in the afternoon. Andrew offers to call Kyle back and tell him it's off. Rebecca tells him not to bother but to keep his nose out of her business in the future.
Number 22
Paul hides whatever he's working on on his laptop from Rebecca as she kisses him goodnight although she doesn't notice. With Rebecca upstairs Paul calls "Diana" in response to her email. He's working on a revised plan but there's been some teething problems at his end. He tells her he'll get onto it and get back to her. Very mysterious. Andrew comes in and asks if Paul is having business problems. Paul says there's nothing he needs to concern himself with. Just big corporations with big egos. He takes a memory stick out of the computer , shuts the laptop down and locks them away in his briefcase. He goes up to bed. An intrigued - and some would say downright nosey - Andrew opens the briefcase and takes a look at the contents of the memory stick.
