SOPHIE: Yeah right. Just like no-one could ever split us up.
Paul and Rebecca look on sadly.
Harold's Store
Libby and Steph discuss Ben staying at Steph's - he's really excited.
Number 28
Karl is looking for board games to take on holiday with them. Susan isn't sure board games are such a great idea - they always end up fighting.
KARL: Oh well, fine, I'll just take my guitar then.
SUSAN: [holding up Scrabble] Shall I pack them in my bag or yours?
Number 30
Dan want Lucas's headphones for his mp3 on his holiday.
LUCAS: Why don't you just listen to nature?
DAN: Lucas, I'm going away with the Kennedys.
LUCAS: If you're going into the Bush why block it out?
DAN: It's not the Bush I'm trying to block out.
Lucas hands them over.
Number 28
SUSAN: I did not say trapped.
KARL: You said, "Great. It's going to be raining the whole time. I'll be trapped inside with Dan."
SUSAN: Stuck! I said stuck! There is a difference.
Karl explains he just wants to wipe the slate clean - to make a new start. Susan promises to try.
Number 32
Dan and Lucas reminisce on how going away used to be like - just jumping on the bike and going.
DAN: Remind me why I got married?
LUCAS: You got the girl, remember? Half the luck.
Dan asks about Elle, and Lucas says he's had an email or two from her, but nothing else.
LUCAS: Careful what you wish for, mate. Because you might just get it.
Harold's Store
Libby wonders if it was like this before Dan went away, and Steph doesn't think it was. She was always amazed at how well they all got on. Steph reminds her that they're all on the same team, and Libby agrees.
Kate turns up for work and Lou wonders why she's there. She gets upset saying that she needs to keep things as normal as possible. Lou passes her a tissue and gives her a hug.
Outside the Holiday Home
Everyone is shocked - it's really nice! Karl was in charge, and Libby was expecting something out of Scooby Doo. They all awkwardly talk about food, and agree to a barbeque.
KARL: If that's what you want?
LIBBY: Yeah, sounds perfect.
DAN: Sure does.
Susan explains that Libby and Dan are in the front room - small but with a beautiful view.
KARL: Unless you'd rather be in the back room?
DAN: No, that's fine by us. If that's what you guys like?
Everyone nods and they go to pick up their bags and unpack. Dan and Susan head inside.
Libby steps closer to her Dad and thanks him. Karl thinks the weather might turn.
Inside the Holiday Home
They're playing Articulate and it looks like Dan and Karl vs Libby and Susan. Karl's complaining because he can't see the card, and then the timer goes, meaning him and Dan don't win anything. Dan wants to go for a walk, but Libby points out it's raining.
DAN: [looking wistfully out of the window] It won't kill me.
SUSAN: Come on, don't be a spoil sport.
Cue killer evils out of the window by Dan. Karl is laughing - Susan can't talk! What about the Scrabble Debate 1998? Turns out that the debate was about the word "oomph" in Scrabble. Susan was proved wrong. Karl begins to whistle and they all laugh - he always whistles when he's winning! Susan and Libby reminisce once more about times gone by and Dan looks pretty peeved off whilst the family enjoy a trip down memory lane. Libby and Susan have a go and they get the answer by talking about Billy.
Later
Everyone's finished eating and Dan checks his phone - it's the estate agent. Susan enquires after the house hunting. Susan offers Steph's house, and Dan gets defensive and Libby tells her not to go there now. Susan wonders if it's really what they want. Libby begins to say what Dan thinks, but Susan wants to know if it's what Libby wants.
LIBBY: I don't think we'd be talking about baby's and houses if it wasn't for you guys. We owe you everything.
DAN: Can anyone tell me when this debt ever gets paid? Is there a due date, or something...?
Karl tries to clam things, and Susan tells Dan he's under no obligations. Dan doesn't see it that way.
KARL: Dan, everyone knew this surrogacy was going to be complicated.
DAN: Yeah. And I should never have agreed to it.
Everyone looks shocked.
Next morning
Karl offers Dan pancakes for breakfast, and Dan says he's going for a run. Karl thinks they should sort things out - that's why they came here. Susan stands up and apologises for what she said, and Dan does the same. Susan wants to go out with Dan.
DAN: For a run?
SUSAN: Well, probably more like a waddle.
Dan agrees.
Charlie's Bar
Lou asks Rebecca for some sugar and then goes over to Paul. He can't believe Paul is doing nothing - he's the Ramsay's uncle! Paul says he can't do anything - not with his record. Toadie joins in the conversation and agrees with Paul - he can't be the Ramsay's guardian. Lou thinks the kids will just interrupt his love life, to which Rebecca says that's unfair.
Paul turns to Toadie asking what he can do - would buying the house back from the Salvo's help?
LOU: Yeah, that'd be right wouldn't it? Got a problem, chuck some money at it, make it go away.
Lou refuses to stand back and watch the kids get torn apart.
The Bush
Dan is walking very fast and Susan can't keep up without doing a little jog. Dan has his headphones on.
The Holiday Home
Libby hopes Dan and Susan sort things out - maybe then they won't have to move. Karl tells Libby that when the baby is born, it may change. Dan will hold is son and nothing else will matter and the love will drive all the concerns away and he'll know all that's important will be in his arms.
The Bush
Susan still isn't keeping up and is giving evils to the back of Dan.
Number 24
Harry has his bags packed. Sophie attaches herself to him and won't let go. Kate and Harry apologise to one another, and Rebecca, Paul, Lou and Toadie watch on sadly as the three of them hug. Kate says they'll get through h this - like they have with everything else. Harry leaves with Toadie (Paul, Rebecca and Lou) and the two girls hug sadly.
Harold's Store
Steph wonders what the family were like and Lou and Toadie say they seemed nice - they had five other foster kids. Lucas thinks it could be a good thing - to get away from family for a while. Lou thinks that's rubbish and gets angry. He isn't just going to stand back and let this happen. Harry has more support here than with a bunch of strangers. Toadie tells Lou the law - Harry must have a guardian. Steph wishes she could help, but she can't with Charlie and work, and Toadie agrees - he can't either. Steph looks to Lucas who rules himself out as a good role model.
LOU: I'm an idiot. Why didn't I think of it before? I know the perfect person.
Charlie's Bar
STEPH: No offence, Lou, but you? I mean, I guess, we're not exactly spoilt for choice are we?
Lou tells her to look at the positives - he's an ex mayor, businessman, long-term member of the community etc. Toadie isn't too sure, though - Lou's past is on a par with Paul's! Speak of the devil, he appears and he thinks it's a great idea. Paul agrees to give financial backing - if that's not seen as throwing money at the problem.
TOADIE: The question is, can you two work together?
Number 22
Harry is on the phone, telling his sisters he misses them but that he has to go. Sophie knew they'd be mean, but Lou, who has just walked in, tells Kate and Sophie that they were decent people. Lou has come to talk with them about his suggestion. They all sit down at the table.
LOU: I could apply to be your guardian. Now, I know you're thinking that you don't want an old man moving in here and telling us what to do, but I promise you I wouldn't act like a parent or anything...
KATE & SOPHIE: Thank you!
They hug him.
Lou explains that he might not get approved - but at least they are doing something. Harry won't get away from them that easily.
The Bush
Susan jogs to keep up with Dan. She wants to talk about what he said last night. Dan doesn't want to, but he gives in and stops and turns around to talk to her.
SUSAN: Do you regret this? [She points to the bump]
DAN: I want to hold my son.
SUSAN: But...?
DAN: But I feel like I don't matter.
SUSAN: Oh Dan, of course you matter, you're the father.
Dan wishes he was sharing the experience with Libby. Susan reminds him that isn't an option. Dan says he couldn't do a thing about Sam and Libby's miscarriages.
SUSAN: You can't control everything.
DAN: Oh, now, that's funny coming from you.
SUSAN: I'm not the enemy, Dan.
Dan looks away from her and then back at her, signalling he clearly thinks she is!
SUSAN: [scoffs] So, it's not the surrogacy that's the problem, it's me.
Dan begins to get mad - Susan thinks she knows what's best for everyone. Susan replies that she just wants them to be happy and Dan thinks it's only if it's on Susan's terms. He turns and walks off, leaving Susan looking shocked.
A tiny bit later...
Susan's chasing him again! She shouts to him that if he and Lib both wanted to move to the other side of the world she'd be fine with it, as long as that's what Libby wants.
DAN: You don't give Libby a chance to work out what she wants because you're always there in her ear!
They reach a wooden thing decking-type thing. It's getting very heated now. Dan doesn't think him and Libby stand a chance if they're living near her. Dan says he's being honest and Susan disagrees. Dan says she only disagrees because it's not what she wants to hear. Susan tells him there are bigger issues going on and Dan asks her to tell him what they are.
SUSAN: You're making everyone, except you, responsible for the problems in your marriage.
DAN: Well, thank you very much Susan Kennedy, the Patron Saint of Erinsborough.
SUSAN: And blaming me isn't going to fix them!
DAN: You treat your husband like a trained monkey and your daughter like a child! It's no wonder we want to run away.
Dan walks off. Susan stays where she is, leaning up against the post and holding her tummy. She shouts back at him.
SUSAN: [shouting angrily] You have no right to take my daughter and my grandchildren away from me. It's just SELFISH!
DAN: It's not selfish, it's self-preservation.
Dan turns and puts his headphone back on and walks off. Susan begins to run after him, yelling his name, but he's either not listening or can't hear her. She trips on a tree root and falls to the ground. Catching her breath slightly, she looks up and calls out to Dan loudly. Dan can't hear her. She feebly shouts his name before curling up in agony, clutching her stomach.
