Recap
- Lucas picking up the betting pages of the paper.
- Dan finding Lucas squatting in number 32.
- Donna and Kate finding out that Kyle blackmailed Sunny into doing his assignments.
- Sunny shouting at Kyle.
- Zeke confronting Kyle.
- Sunny confessing to the Kennedys that she wrote Kyle's assignment.
Number 28
The Kennedys are all disappointed with Sunny and Karl can't see what she did as anything other than cheating. Susan is also surprised that Sunny lied to them too. Zeke thinks Kyle should be the one to cop it. Sunny apologises again but begs them not to tell her parents. Libby says that once the exchange people find out about the cheating then they'll have to send her home. Zeke vows not to lose his girl.
A cup of tea later Susan wonders if Libby has to tell the exchange programme. Karl thinks they have a responsibility to Sunny's parents to play things by the book. Susan suggests keeping the punishment within the school but Libby is unsure, she needs to speak to Dan about it, he's the principle.
Number 32
Lucas is surrounded by bits of car and tools including one really big...oh no, that's Dan, who rejects Libby's incoming call. As they clean up the mess Dan comes across the betting page of the paper hidden under Lucas' sleeping bag. He's not going anywhere, wherever Lucas goes he goes. He's going to "support" him whether he likes it or not it seems. Some people might see it as running away from his own problems, but that's not the sort of thing Super School Councillor Dan would do is it?
Number 28
Libby leaves Dan a message for him to call her back asap and then tells Sunny and Zeke they'll just have to wait. Zeke wants Libby to at least tell Sunny it'll be ok, but Libby can't. Susan is sure Dan will ok it.
KARL: Probably but it's his decision.
ZEKE: Meanwhile Sunny's worried sick!
Karl reminds Zeke that Sunny got herself into this mess and that they've already made pretty big concessions for her. Susan thinks Dan will do whatever is in the best interests of the student, which isn't putting her through all of this. Libby begins to be convinced by her mother's argument.
LIBBY: Mum is right. Sunny should be punished, but Dan will agree the school punishment should be enough.
ZEKE: So, can I tell her that?
Libby nods her agreement. Karl thinks she's making a big mistake and I think Libby secretly thinks that too.
Harold's
Kate and Harry are off to the Op Shop to find Harry something smart and sensible to wear for the DHS meeting next week. Meanwhile Dan watches Lucas eat, much to Lyn's displeasure. She gives them loyalty cards in the hope of enticing Dan into ordering something. Lucas tells her that Dan prefers to watch.
LUCAS: I think we might have freaked her out.
DAN: She's seen worse. She married Paul.
LUCAS: And you think I'm messed up.
Dan tells him to suck it up until he can live life without a form guide.
LUCAS: Here's the thing Daniel, if I want to read the form guide. I will. If I decide to place a bet, I will. You can suck that up.

Number 28
Karl and Susan are outside feeding the animals which is apparently code for talking about the teens. Sunny apologises to Zeke for all the lying and stuff. He says he understands why she did it. She thanks him for sticking up for her and making her feel protected.
ZEKE: Well, no one messes with my girl.
SUNNY: I love you.
Yes. She did it she said the "L" word in a far more reasonable time frame than Zeke did, but then, he has spent several of his formative years growing up on Ramsay Street where "I love you" on the second date is a bit late.
ZEKE: What?
SUNNY: You heard.
Zeke feigns deafness so she mouths "I love you" again and some really rather nice music kicks in. Sunny says that she learned today that love isn't about thinking but about feeling. They all the warm fuzzies with a kiss. Nawwww. Bless.
Number 30
Libby arrives home with three lively pre-teens and shopping and still hasn't been able to contact Dan. She's forgotten the milk though and Lou neeeeeds milk. She manages to palm the kids off on Lou but only as long as she remembers the milk. That's right. Milk. Don't forget.
Dan is still not answering his phone. Why might that be?
Charlie's
...Possibly because Principle Dan is knocking back beers with his bro, though his bro is looking rather morose. Toadie and Dan cluck around worrying about Lucas falling back into old habits. Dan is determined that it won't happen on his watch. Speaking of watch, if Dan looked at his he'd probably see that it is time to sort out his marriage. Toadie wishes him happy babysitting.
Dan puts the betting pages down in front of Lucas and suggests he goes for it.
LUCAS: Reverse psychology. What am I, ten?
DAN: Emotionally, yeah.
LUCAS: Is that Libby?
DAN: Probably.
LUCAS: Why don't you give her a call? Sort out your own problems for once.
Dan passes him his phone and tells him to place a phone bet. He tells him that Elle is gone and he needs to start making choices about how to deal with it. He seemed to be dealing pretty well though considering she's barely been gone twenty-four hours. Someone tell Dan to butt out.
Another beer later and Lucas hasn't placed a bet. They talk about how if he could have one wild night and move on that would be great, but he can't just have the one bet. Dan says that if the bug ever bites, he has to know that he can come to his big brother.
LUCAS: Is this the part where we hug?
DAN: Don't bet on it.
Lucas goes to grab some darts and Dan calls Libby to tell her that he's with a rather shaky Lucas and needs to stay with him a bit longer.
Number 28
Karl and Susan want to discuss how they're going to tell Sunny's parents about what's going on. Susan assures Sunny and Zeke that they're on their side and will tell the Lees that they've been very responsible. Sunny agrees to call them and that the news should come from her.
Next thing Sunny is on the phone in tears, clearly things aren't going well. The Kennedys watch concerned. With the call ended, Sunny announces that her parents are coming to take her home.
KARL: We did the right thing.
SUSAN: I really thought they'd let her stay.
KARL: Yes, well, it's their decision.
SUSAN: Well it doesn't mean we have to agree with it.
Karl doesn't see that they have any other choice but to accept it, but Susan has other ideas. When the Lees arrive they do everything in their power to convince them to let Sunny stay.
KARL: No we can't get involved. They're her parents.
SUSAN: And we're Zeke's parents. You know how they feel about each other Karl, they'd be heart broken! They don't deserve that.
Number 30
The terrible trio are running riot while Lou tries to calm them down. Toadie and Libby both pop home but neither can stay. Libby is still looking for Dan and still hasn't got milk. Toadie tells her that Dan was last seen in Charlie's with Lucas and suggests to Lou that he occupy the kidlets by thinking of something he needs to do and turning it into a game for them to do. (Nice shout out to Big Kev there.) Lou is starting to think he'd rather have a bottle of booze than one of milk when he has a brainwave.
Charlie's
The boys mess around playing darts much to the incredulity of Libby. Lucas heads to the bar and Dan turns his attention to his wife for the first time today. He tells her that Lucas is getting there and she tells him that she's been trying to contact her all day.
DAN: Yeah, Lib. I left you a message.
LIBBY: Yes, but your phone was off most of the time.
Dan asks what's so urgent and she explains that Sunny has been doing essays for Kyle. She also tells him that she told Sunny they'd keep it a school matter and not tell the exchange programme. Dan is not impressed and says that he'll have to reverse the decision.
LIBBY: Come on. Don't punish Sunny because you want to teach me a lesson.
DAN: If I wanted to teach you a lesson....
LIBBY: What?
DAN: I'd have you suspended.
LIBBY: Don't be ridiculous.
DAN: Seriously, I would if it was any other teacher.
LIBBY: Well don't do me any favours, you just go right ahead and suspend me. After you've finished knocking back beers with your brother of course.
DAN: Right.
He walks off. Git.
After the break Dan and Lucas are playing darts again and Lucas is trying to put his brother off by naming as many of Dan's teen crushes that he can remember. Dan ran into one of them a while back. Lucas asks if she's still got it.
DAN: I wouldn't know Lucas, I'm a happily married man.
Could have fooled me, love. Lucas suggests Dan head home if he wants to keep things that way, he's not a little kid, he doesn't need babysitting. Dan is adamant that tonight he's having a break so they head to the Houndstooth to relive all those uni experiences.
Harold's
Harry is all togged out in DHS meeting style clothes. Lyn thinks he looks lovely but his friends think he looks like a dork. Kate likes dorky, dorky is responsible. Harry told Sophie that the DHS wouldn't split them up. Kate would rather he didn't get her hopes up like that.
SUNNY: Hey, at least you've got some hope.
ZEKE: We do too.
SUNNY: You don't know my parents.
Karl and Susan come in and ask for a word with Zeke and Sunny so Kate and Harry leave. Karl explains that although what Sunny did was wrong, he knows what they mean to each other and what's at stake so when Sunny's parents arrive, he will do everything he can to talk them around.
KARL: I don't want you going home. Not like this.
Susan looks very proud and loved up. Probably because she's once again managed to wrap her husband around her little finger.
Number 30
SOPHIE: Lamest. Treasurehunt. Ever.
Callum, Ben and Sophie have succeeded in retrieving Lou's stash of vintage wines from goodness knows where. Lou is on seventh heaven, the kids are disappointed and Libby has got milk. Toadie has also got milk. And pizza. I'm just enjoying typing "got milk". Libby notices the mess the boys and Sophie are in and asks what they've been up to.
CALLUM: Nothing.
LIBBY: I'm talking to Ben.
BEN: Nothing.
LIBBY: Sophie?
SOPHIE: Nothing.
LIBBY: Alright, tell me or no pizza.
With the threat of no pizza Ben caves in and tells her that Lou made them go under the house to get his wine. Lou explains that he buried them when he last lived at number 30. Libby can't believe he let them crawl around with all the bugs and spiders. EEEEW Spiders.
TOADIE: Lib, Ben's ok.
LIBBY: But why would you be so irresponsible? What is it with you men? Why is it all about you?
BEN: Mum. It wasn't dangerous.
Libby lets it drop and leaves the room followed by Toadie to see if she's ok. She says it's nothing and tells him not to let his pizza get cold, which is obviously girl talk for "everything and I really need to talk to someone about it." But Toadie is not Steph so he takes her at word.
Ramsay Street
Lucas and Dan arrive back on the street in a taxi all merry from their boys night, except when I say "merry" it is in the Ramsay Street sense. Given that they've been knocking back beers since the middle of the afternoon they should probably be falling over themselves, putting traffic cones on their heads and talking to possums. Anyway, they've had a great night.
LUCAS: I love you mate!
Hmmm..maybe they are a bit tipsy. Dan wonders if they should have something to eat. They head towards number 32 but Dan catches sight of the lights still on at number 30 and gets sent home by his brother.
DAN: What happened to party time?
LUCAS: Your marriage.
DAN: My marriage is fine.
LUCAS: I had to face the music, now it's your turn. At least she's still here for you.
DAN: Is she?
LUCAS: Come on, you love her she loves you. Go sort it out.
Number 30
There is TENSION in the air when Dan comes back in. He and Libby make small talk before Libby suggests that next time he call before he has a boys night out. Dan says she knows he had to be with Lucas tonight, but given they had an argument, Libby thought he'd want to sort it out.
DAN: Ok, you want to wake Sunny and tell her you made a mistake.
Libby reminds him that there are other issues aside from that. Dan doesn't want to do this now.
LIBBY: Do what? Act like a married couple? Because this is what they do. They work out their problems.
DAN: Well some of them go running to their parents.
Dan tells her that Lucas needs him and he should be with him instead of standing arguing about it.
LIBBY: And what about us?
DAN: We'll deal with it later. I'll talk to you tomorrow ok.
And he's gone again.
