Recap
Someone sabotaging the bike system.
Lassiters Park
Kate announces to the gathered that the bike system is back in order again but to make enough energy they need to be continuously used for 24 hours and with a bit of promoting from Declan, everyone starts to pitch in.
Donna catches up with Kate to find out what she's missed and is filled in about the bike system being sabotaged. Kate then tells Donna to get on her bike and asks Declan and Ringo if they'll help make a rota, excited that they are in sight of their goal.
Harry approaches his sister to find out what she is doing about his date but is told to get on a bike!
Charlie's
Declan is going the rota although Ringo thinks it would be easier to arrange 1 hour stints instead of the 4 hours Declan is currently assigning. Ringo also enquires why his name isn't on the list and Declan replies that he's going to be the one to oversee that it works.
Lyn remarks that it's nice to see Lou behind the bar again when she comes in even though she still thinks he was in cahoots with Paul. Lou puts her straight by telling her that Paul was suggesting he bought the store from under her then starts laughing when he realises that they've both been had by Paul!
Rebecca approaches them and asks what Lyn is there for and she asks to borrow some sugar as she has run out, so Rebecca places 1 sachet on the bar for her! "I was hoping for a bit more" is Lyn's response, so Rebecca reaches round and hands her a bowl of them, which Lyn graciously accepts before leaving.
"Technically I should be enjoying this" Rebecca remarks afterwards and Lou suggests that they help out given its "Jelly belly's legacy" too. When she puts on a face, he explains that Charlie's isn't likely to succeed when the store is sold to a coffee chain and suggests they given Lyn some of their excess stock to tide her over until the buyer boycott can be sorted out.
REBECCA: You want to give her our stock?!
LOU: Well it's only going to rot on the shelves if Apollo takes over. What are you saying?
REBECCA: ...
Harold's Store
Lyn thinks it's a trick when Lou and Rebecca tell her of their plan but Rebecca reaffirms that they both need to work together to save the store.
LYN: What's in it for you apart from brownie points with the locals?
REBECCA: If Apollo's moves in, Charlie's could be in trouble too alright. We could both go under.
LOU: And Harold would be devastated.
STEPH: Does Paul know about this?
REBECCA AND LOU: ...
Lyn is happy surprised to hear they'd be going behind Paul's back. "He's rubbing off on you" she tells Rebecca which earns her a scowl from Steph. Lyn then tries to start the agro back up but again, Steph pulls in her mum's reins telling her that she should be thanking Rebecca and Lou, not having a go at them.
LOU: Rebecca is going out on a limb Lynnie.
LYN: (meekly) Thank you... I think.
Rebecca sighs at that after comment and Lou reminds her - not a word to Paul!
Harry enters the store and goes all gooey-eyed at some lassie before getting all tongue-tied when he attempted to speak to her before she exited the store.
Lassiters Complex
Harry follows the lassie outside and Macca and the other random guys tell him he hasn't got a chance when he stands and gazes at her.
Kate approaches him to ask why he isn't on a bike but he has another task for her - he wants the lassie (Sarah) to be his date for the ball but thankfully for her, she's able to postpone that task when Ringo and Declan return with the rota.
Lassiters Park
Donna shouts at Ringo to come and rescue her (her hair's frizzing!) and Kate tries to recruit Karl to the cause when he and Susan come by to see how things are going. "He's gone in the knees. Getting on a bit" Susan pipes up to get him out of it when he was stalling coming up with an excuse but is roped into it anyway when he tries to veto Susan taking part.
(Later)
Susan encourages Karl to pedal faster when he shows signs of floundering. Harry and Kate have an argument when she didn't ask Sarah to be his date for the ball (he spotted the two of them talking). This causes Macca and the teen guys to wind him up, saying Kate has got him under her thumb.
Harold's Store
Lou has roped Dan into helping move some stock into the store and when he protests, Steph gives him choice - helping them or going on the bikes! Steph remarks to Lou that she'd never thought she'd see Lyn and Rebecca working together! "All for a good cause" he reminds her.
LOU: Jelly Belly loved this place. We can't let it go to pot can we?!
Paul enters the store and wants to know why Lou is there, so he quickly replies that he is buying up the last of Lyn's stock. "I hope you got it at a discount" he replies to that. Steph asks if he is enjoying what he's doing to her mum and Lou has to stop her from almost giving the game away when she was ready to throw him some verbals!
Lyn exits the kitchen and Lou quickly tells her (for Paul's benefit) that he's there buying the last of her stock. She plays along with it but it's thrown into the air when Paul asks for a coffee so he can watch.
Lassiters Park
Kate is unimpressed with her brother when she comes out to find nobody cycling - he lied and said the equipment wasn't registering the energy they were creating so everyone stopped cycling.
Charlie's
Donna has a go at Harry for what he did but he's unrepentant and isn't going to help.
Commercial break later and the trio have come up with a new plan to get past Paul - smuggling the goods out under a jacket (Lyn has literally been wrapped in snacks!) Rebecca quickly does up the buttons on Lyn's jacket after Lou warns them that Paul is approaching. He then comments about Lyn putting on weight when she leaves, then asks the pair of them to stop buying Lyn's stock unless they are getting it for free.
REBECCA: Paul you're not my boss.
PAUL: No, but we both are on the same page when it comes to Lyn Scully. I want her and that little shop of hers run into the ground.
REBECCA: Look Paul I understand
PAUL: (interrupting) No listen; we are this close (holding his finger and thumb almost together) so I don't want you or anybody else supporting her in any other way. Is that clear!
Rebecca is not amused by that last statement, so he tries to get her to imagine having a "Lyn free Erinsborough."
Lassiters Park
Everyone is back cycling again and Sophie tries to get Dan and Lucas to volunteer. She eventually does after remarking when they were coming up with excuses by saying "that we probably need fitter guys anyway".
Dan swap places with Karl (who looks ready to collapse) and Lucas tells him that he'll need to do a lot of riding to get into Susan's good books again.
Charlie's (night time)
Wound up by Macca as they play pool and getting a smile from Sarah, Harry approaches her to ask for a date to the ball. She turns him down but gives him permission to use an excuse of his choice to tell the guys. "She said yes" is his excuse when he does return!
Paul apologises for what he said earlier but reminds Rebecca how close they are to getting Lyn out of town. He can sense she isn't buying into it and she puts it down to her being busy in the bar; however he thinks something is up.
Harold's Store
Lou and Steph help remove another load of transferred stock from Lyn. She still isn't grateful to Rebecca and thinks it's a set up, which causes Steph to have another go at her mum.
Rebecca enters the kitchen and suggests they stop for now as its getting too risky because Paul is suss and this compounds Lyn's theory that it's a set up.
REBECCA: Lyn, for goodness sake listen to me. If I don't find a way to break this to Paul gently then we are... He's standing right behind me isn't he?
PAUL: (entering the kitchen) Break what to me gently?
Commercial break later and Rebecca is trying to justify her actions to Paul but he isn't listening.
"I'm guessing that didn't go too well" Lou remarks to Rebecca when she joins them at the counter following Paul storming out. "No" is the answer and that she'll need to leave to do some damage control too but confirms to them that they can keep the stock to get the store back on track... "Let me worry about Paul".
Kate does her best to ignore Harry as he follows her into the store. However he persists and begins getting back into the good books by buying the drink she came in for and volunteering to cycle on the bikes. Harry then pushes his luck by trying again to get Kate to ask Sarah to be his partner which causes him to return back into her bad books.
Number 22
Rebecca tries to explain to Paul her reasons for helping Lyn - the store is part of their community, which is part of the reason that she fell in love with the place and where she fell in love with him. This mellows him and after a few seductive kisses he melts.
PAUL: How long have you been rehearsing that?
REBECCA: Umm, all the way over here. How did I go?
PAUL: Not bad.
She asks if they can end the feud with Lyn because what they have is "so much stronger than Lyn Scully." Paul doesn't want to as it means Lyn will have won but Rebecca doesn't think so "because you're the bigger person".
REBECCA: What do you say?
PAUL: (realising he's beat) I say you're pretty convincing. Alright, alright, I'll call off the hounds; I'll get the store re-supplied.
REBECCA: You're a wonderful man Paul Robinson.
PAUL: No I'm not; I'm just a sucker for the most beautiful woman in the world.
Lassiters Park (next day)
Dan counts down how long they need to go to achieve their energy requirements and when he checks the system, it says the target has indeed been met although agrees to Sophie's plan to wind Kate up by saying it hasn't...
SOPHIE: (announcing to the gathered) We're really sorry to tell you guys that (dramatic pause)... we did it!
Cue celebrating from the gathered and Lucas offering three cheers to Kate as Amanda walks away in disgust.
Harold's Store
Rebecca gives Lyn the good news that Paul has called off the hounds - deliveries will re-commence tomorrow.
Donna quickly enters to congratulate the teens before saying she's off to see Saffron (she took a call just at the end of the cycling).
Harry offers Kate his congratulations and Macca butts in to say that's a good thing because Harry's scored himself a date to the ball. It looks like Harry's world is about to collapse after Kate replies that isn't correct because Sarah's date is Kyle! Macca calls him a "loser" and the silent ones laugh as Harry decides its time to leave the store.
Number 24
Kate apologises for embarrassing Harry, it just came out but he thinks she did it deliberately. She asks him why he's hung up on Sarah.
HARRY: You don't get it okay. Its not about Sarah, it's about getting some respect from other guys.
KATE: Right.
HARRY: You've ruined it, turned me back into the Year 10 joke just to get back at me.
Kate points out that he tried to ruin the deb, which he knows was stupid, and tries to draw a line underneath it.
KATE: We're family.
HARRY: No we're not. We just stick together because we have to.
KATE: That's not true.
HARRY: Yes it is and maybe I want out.
KATE: You don't mean that?
Harry doesn't reply, just walks out of the house.
