- Elle pleading her case not to be sacked.
- Elle telling Lucas that she can't protect him anymore, the story about the garage is going to run.
- Elle stealing the certificate that Steph gave after servicing the Parkers' car.
Harold's Store
Elle nervously awaits the morning newspapers and the article blaming Steph for the car accident - Shonky mechanic linked to teen tragedy - is the front page story.
Ramsay Street
Susan takes Audrey out for a walk and finds the lawns covered in photocopies of the Star's article. Dan and Toadie are hurriedly trying to pick them all up (so Steph doesn't see them) and Susan goes over to ask if they know who did it. Toadie has his suspicions on Declan even if Susan and Dan don't think it's him. Libby joins them and just as Dan has said "I've got the bulk of them, Steph shouldn't see a thing," guess who walks out the side door - yes Steph.
Lib tells Steph to ignore it, Elle shouldn't have written it in the first place. Steph is very downbeat and replies back that what's written is the truth. Libby wants to know if they can take legal action for naming Steph and while Toadie agrees they could take out an injunction, it's really too late now. Steph spots Lucas outside #22 and they both look at each other sympathetically.
Number 22
Lucas is furious when he enters the house and isn't amused at Elle's actions especially naming Steph. She tries to vindicate herself in that it will give the garage/his career a fighting chance of survival.
LUCAS: I don't care about my career. It's not important. I care about people. But that's the difference between you and me isn't it?
Elle replies in a very girly voice "Lucas" but he ignores her and walks out of the house instead.
Number 30
Ben sits reading a copy of the article (he picked one up earlier but got sent inside by his mum) as Toadie, Dan and Libby talk about it. Toadie leaves to go and check on Steph and Ben goes into the kitchen to ask his parents about them being all over the street but they fob him off saying sometimes people do stupid things.
Lib checks how Ben's tummy ache is, he's still crook, and Ben isn't amused at being packed off to Susan's, stating that he is old enough to stay home by himself. She tries to cheer him up by saying that Susan is looking after Charlie too but Ben doesn't want to hang out with him although he reluctantly agrees to head there when Libby threatens to send him back to school!
Lib catches Dan as he is about to leave without his lunch again and asks if he is okay. Dan replies that he is (even if the counselling sessions are taking a toll on him) so Libby suggests that he goes to see the counsellor too. "I would if I needed to" is his reply.
DAN: Are you going to nag me?
LIBBY: Yes.
"How about this then" he replies before kissing her passionately and Libby suggests that she nags him more often however Ben calling for his mum puts and end to the morning romance.
Number 24
Kate is unamused at the mess the house is in and that Harry is playing console games in the morning too when she exits her bedroom. Harry objects to her ending his morning fun (she switched the TV off) and Kate asks why she has to be the bad guy all the time. "Because you are" is his reply then has to suffer Kate ranting at him because he didn't bring home milk or bread so they could have breakfast.
KATE: D'you know what. One morning I would love to get up and not have to deal with you two.
Harry replies that she doesn't have to look after them but she points out that someone has to.
HARRY: You're not mum Kate.
Kate is most unimpressed at him throwing that one in her face and even Sophie has a dig at him too.
Garage
Lucas is sorting out the paperwork when Steph arrives to hand in her resignation but Lucas refuses to accept it. She slides it in amongst the paperwork when he goes to take a call but he again refuses to accept it and Elle catches the two of them bantering with each other when she turns up unexpectedly at the garage.
Steph decides it's in her best interests to leave and Elle enters the garage. She apologises to Lucas for everything but Lucas replies that he isn't the only one she should apologise to.
ELLE: I can explain.
LUCAS: I think you've said and done enough.
ELLE: I was just trying to protect
LUCAS: (interrupting) You know when people ask me how I can go out with Paul Robinson's daughter, how I could love Paul Robinson's daughter, I told them its because she was nothing like her father. (Shaking his head) That's not true at all is it? You're exactly the same.
Harold's Store
Lucas returns Steph's resignation letter to her... in pieces. Steph replies she'll just print another one and Lucas promises to give it the same treatment too telling her that she is just as much part of the garage as he is. Steph then gets emotional when the Ramsay kids stare at her (they're there for brekkie since there is nothing at home) and she is beginning to regret going out in public but Lucas reassures her and tells her to tough it out.
"Are you following me" is Steph's question to Toadie when he finally finds her but she rejects his offer of a coffee as she is about to leave.
LUCAS: Back to the garage?
STEPH: What to work on all the invisible cars?
Toadie and Steph depart and we cut over to the Ramsay kids where Kate tells her siblings to stop staring. Shouldn't she be in prison like where the man who took their mum away should be is Sophie's question. Neither Kate nor Harry answer that, instead Harry apologises to Kate for what he said and promises to clean the house up.
HARRY: This hasn't been easy on any of us.
KATE: Yes, tell me about it.
Number 28
Susan ticks Steph off for not reporting what has happened to her to the police when she is round for a cuppa but Steph is reluctant to because she fears life is never going to get back to normal.
Up at the breakfast bar, Ben whispers something into Charlie's ear and whatever it was, it caused the little lad to throw the game they were playing onto the floor. Susan and Steph question both boys and Charlie tells his mum that Ben said bad things and conveniently Ben decides that he is feeling crook again. Wise old Susan is onto him though especially after she finds his photocopy of the article about Steph in his back pocket.
School
Kate delivers her late slip to Dan and he asks if she needs counselling after their brief chat about why she was late but she replies back that a holiday from Sophie and Harry is what she needs. "That's tough being responsible for everyone" he remarks and suggests she takes time for herself to do something fun but she their conversation is curtailed when Susan calls. She's after Libby but he replies "what's up" after telling her that Libby is in a meeting.
Number 30
Susan and Libby are trying to have a conversation with Ben over the article about Steph. Dan finally makes it home (he got caught up in a meeting at school) and even though Libby told him she could handle it, he manages to get through to Ben and the lad agrees to say sorry too.
Libby has to be quick to catch her hubby as he is about to leave as quickly as he arrived to suggest he heads to Charlie's to relax for a bit. Dan rejects her suggestion but she is insistent that he takes a break.
Charlie's
Libby forces Dan to take the said break by escorting him not just to the bar but to the table where his brother is sitting! "Look after him" is her parting words to Lucas before she leaves. However instead of engaging in conversation with his brother, he zones out instead and knocks his glass onto the floor and decides to leave.
Number 32
Lucas explains to Libby about Dan zoning out as Steph returns from checking on the boys (they're fine and playing snakes and ladders).
Elle arrives to apologise to Steph for stealing the report and giving it to the paper. "So it's thanks to you that Steph's been hassled" Libby pipes up. Elle explains that she was just trying to protect Lucas and Libby orders her out of the house.
ELLE: I don't expect you to understand.
STEPH: Oh, I understand.
ELLE: Well I am sorry.
"You were way too nice to her" remarks Libby after Elle leaves although Steph admits that she can see why Elle did what she did adding she'd probably have done the same thing too. "No you wouldn't" Libby replies before Steph tells Lucas that Elle has a really weird way of telling him that she loves him.
Number 24
Harry and Sophie are surprised to see Kate playing on the games console when they come home from school and Harry thinks its role reversal to teach them a lesson... but its not going to work he adds! She denies that it is and that she is just having fun but Sophie complains when she finds the fridge empty because Kate said she'd go shopping.
KATE: You see I just didn't feel like going shopping, just like I don't feel like tidying up. You know I'm sick of being the one who has to do everything around here, the one who ways no, the one who makes all the rules. Let's go and have some fun.
HARRY: Bring it on.
Number 30
Libby tries to get Dan to talk to Dr Levi but he is insistent that there is no problem, so she accuse him of being hypocritical given he's organising counselling sessions for everyone else.
LIBBY: Look being tough is one thing but if you don't look after you, you won't be able to help anyone.
She then gives him Dr Levi's card before going to see what Ben is calling her for.
Charlie's
Lucas debates whether to call Elle or not but decides against it.
Number 30
Dan gives Dr Levi a call.
Charlie's
Lucas gives up trying to play darts and goes back to his mobile phone.
Number 22
Elle invites Lucas into the house when he calls round. He explains that he didn't want to leave things as they were before adding that he doesn't know if they can come back from what she did, even if he does admit that he knows why she did it.
ELLE: Can we try?
LUCAS: I saw a side of you I've never seen before.
ELLE: Yes and you won't see it again. I know you were protecting Steph, she's your friend, I should have seen that. Please stay.
Number 24
The Ramsay kids are having fun even if Sophie has stuffed herself full of sweeties! Kate warns her that she's cleaning up the mess if she spews though!
Kate opens up a pizza box to find one of the photocopies that was plastered all over Ramsay Street and Sophie explains that she found it in the front yard. "That's terrible" Kate says and she isn't amused when Harry says that Steph got off lightly.
Sophie announces that she feels sick so Kate takes her off to her bedroom and Harry takes another look at the article.
Ramsay Street
Someone is graffiting Steph's driveway again with GUILTY in BIG red letters. The camera then pans to reveal who did it and it's Harry!
