Miranda telling Steve the kids wanted to decorate the funeral parlour.
Steve wondering why he didn't turn off, why he swerved the car. He wants a police report into it.
Elle tells Lucas she has to cover the Parker story at the Waratah Star.
Steph and Lucas being friends again after the whole being in love with him, thing.
Elle asking about Steph taking responsibility for the Parkers' car - Steph thinking she was talking about her relationship with Lucas.
Elle is sulking at home wearing dungarees, like Steph. Lucas comes home, wondering what's going on - is this a new look? He likes it, and kisses her. Elle confronts Lucas about Steph liking him, and Lucas responds that he knew Elle would overreact to it which is why he didn't tell her. Elle throws an absolute hissy fit.
Donna comes home with a nice dress which she wants to iron for the funeral. She mistakes Elle's outfit for a 'dress ups' session between her and Lucas. Elle takes Donna upstairs to help her with the dress.
The next morning Elle comes down in her black funeral dress to see Lucas, who was waiting for her. She suggests that she doesn't know why he'd bother to wait for her. Lucas apologises for not telling his girlfriend about Steph, and for putting it all back on to her last night. Elle starts to cry (unwillingly), and Lucas assures her that he doesn't want anyone else, certainly not Steph. He only wants her.
Elle admits that she feels so stupid and hates herself because it's Didge's funeral and she's just crying about herself. Lucas pulls her into a big hug.
Declan is dressing India in a white babysuit when Rebecca comes out and tells them they both look beautiful.
In the kitchen Miranda is preparing food when Steve comes in, asking if she needs a hand. Seeing his wife crying, he puts his arms around her and tells her she doesn't need to do the catering, but Miranda wants to. Rebecca chips in and helps, too.
Steph is signing the funeral book, and Libby is commenting on the decoration that the kids have done - it's really good. She likes the fact that people were asked to make donations rather than bring flowers. Steph tells Libby that she can't believe she dropped Lucas in it about their relationship. The girls talk about focusing on the important things today - this is about Bridget.
Kate, Harry and Sophie arrive early for the funeral, saying that Bridget seemed pretty cool. Dan, Toadie and Callum welcome them, and ask them if they'd like to go through to see the memorial to Didge. Sophie doesn't want to, so Harry and Kate go alone. Callum and Sophie agree that this is freaky - it was different when they were just talking about it. Cal and Sophie hold hands and go and sit together.
The teen gang sit at the front, just as Miranda and Steve arrive with Rebecca, Declan and India. They're greeted by the teens who show them their memorial to Bridget. Her white casket is surrounded by photos and decorations, and a big photo of her on her wedding day on a TV screen. Miranda sobs on Steve's shoulder, whilst he nods at the teens in appreciation.
ZEKE: We hope it's okay.
STEVE: It's more than okay.
MIRANDA: (crying) It's beautiful. Thank you.
They take their seats. Declan hands India to Rebecca whilst he shares a big group hug with his friends. Dan gets up and asks Dec if he's ready.
First up is Steve. Miranda sits next to Susan, crying.
STEVE: I shouldn't be here. No parent should have to bury...their own children. Bridget was my daughter...was our daughter...she was Riley's little sister, and everything about her was just...
He breaks down.
STEVE: I'm sorry. Everything about her was just a gift. We shouldn't be here. Didge, we're all here because we love you. Go well, sweetheart.
Zeke is next.
ZEKE: If I had to sum up Didge in one way, I would have to say that she'd never shut up. Yeah, I mean, not in a bad way, it's just...when she believed in something, she backed it the whole way. You know, even if that meant taking on the whole footie team. Which she did. You're awesome, Didge. Just...amazing. And now there's this massive hole where you used to be, and, um, I miss you.
Steph, Bec, the Parkers and the Kennedys are crying. Zeke joins them.
Ringo puts on a CD.
Declan hands India to Donna and goes to the front to speak.
DECLAN: Before I say anything I'd like to thank you all for coming. Bridget loves every one of you, and, um, yeah...
He gets out his speech.
DECLAN: Bridget was my wife, but she was also my best friend.
India starts to cry, Donna tries to shush her. She and Ringo take India out.
DECLAN: We weren't always like that, though.
Donna and Ringo try different ways to pacify India - most of which a three week old baby wouldn't understand in the first place.
DECLAN: When I first met her, she drove my crazy. We got in all sorts of trouble.
India really cries, and Declan breaks down, too.
DECLAN: But it wasn't long before I fell for Didge in a big way. We had our ups and our downs but I loved her with all my heart.
India continues to cry - which distresses Declan - and no-one thinks to take her off Donna who clearly has no idea how to comfort a baby. Ringo tries singing to India - The Boys From Erinsborough. Donna joins in, and the guests start to join in too. Declan mouths the words. India stops crying, and Donna brings her back into the funeral room.
Declan turns around and looks at the TV screen, with the picture of Didge on her wedding day.
DECLAN: I love you, Bridget Parker. (sobbing) I love you.
Sunny, Zeke, Declan and a pram, Ringo and Donna walk up Ramsay Street together. They stare at Number 24.
DECLAN: Party at India's house?
Arms around each other, they walk home.
Elle and Lucas chat by the car; Lucas has to pick up his calls, so Elle goes on ahead of him.
Karl and Susan are chatting about cake. Lucas comes in, and stares at Steph in horror. Elle just stares at Lucas. He sees his girlfriend looking all irrationally jealous and takes her into the kitchen where he tells her that the Parkers' car had a steering fault - after THEY had serviced it...
Driven by jealousy Elle tells Lucas to sack Steph because she has clearly stuffed up. Lucas says he would back Steph's work - she's very good at what she does.
ELLE: She is responsible for Bridget's death; cut her loose!
In the nursery Declan is putting India down for a nap. Miranda and Steve come in - they're leaving now. Dec thanks them for everything they've done for him, and Steve responds that it was all worth it.
Miranda takes India from Declan and says goodbye to her. Declan and Steve hug.
STEVE: You looked after Didge so well. I'm really proud of you, mate.
MIRANDA: Look after India for us.
Declan takes his daughter back as Miranda kisses him and her grandchild goodbye. Declan promises to visit them very soon.
Out in the lounge, everyone is leaving the house to wave goodbye to the Parkers, but Lucas grabs Steph - he has to speak to her now. He tells her about the report.
And so the Parkers are leaving. Miranda hugs Susan and Toadie; Steve hugs Ringo and Donna, then vice versa. Miranda tells Declan that the removals men will be round the next week to get the rest of their stuff.
MIRANDA: Bye everyone. Thank you.
They get into the car.
SUSAN: Don't forget us.
MIRANDA: Don't forget Bridget.
Everyone waves sadly as the taxi drives them away.
Back in the lounge, Steph is horrified at what she's heard from Lucas.
STEPH: You think it was me?
LUCAS: No, no, no - I don't. I just thought you should know.
STEPH: Am I gonna be arrested.
LUCAS: No, no, I don't think it works like that.
STEPH: They think I've killed someone, of course they're going to arrest me.
LUCAS: No, that's not the way it works.
DECLAN: Arrest you for what?
Dec, Ringo, Donna and Bec with India have come into the lounge. Lucas tries to stop Steph from saying anything, but she's determined, and Declan pushes her. Frightened, Steph tells Declan that the crash report shows that the accident was caused by a faulty steering system.
DECLAN: But it was just serviced.
STEPH: I serviced the car. I am so sorry...it's, it's my fault...I'm so sorry...Declan...
Declan looks beyond angry, whilst Rebecca watches with India, horrified.
