Pirate Radio Station
Zeke is talking about bullies, and how their scare tactics don't work for long - people will eventually take a stand and turn against them. He starts to relate the story of one loser - Guy - being driven away from Ramsay Street in a police car.
Harold's Store
Elle and Lucas are listening to the radio station because Elle thinks that she can get a story lead from 'Lost Boy' - and she's right. Zeke tells the story of Guy being arrested, after looking for $20K and blackmailing Toadie into paying up. Paul comes over and listens, wondering who they're listening to, but Elle shushes him. Zeke announces that Toadie has guts - Sykes put a bullet in his back before, but this time Toad got the upper hand. Elle's really impressed that the DJ knows all this until:
ZEKE: So I guess Guy Sykes knocks the Robinsons off the top of Erinsborough's Most Hated.
ELLE: What a brat.
Paul thinks they should do an interview with Lost Boy - get the younger readers in. Lucas points out that they don't know who the DJ is; he's probably some nerdy kid. Paul tells Lucas to leave the editorial decisions to him - he should just take the photos. Elle agrees, and Paul is pleased he's gotten one up on Lucas.
Over at the counter Rebecca has told Miranda what happened that morning, and wonders how her friend feels about Declan moving back with the Parkers. Miranda is fine with it, and thinks Rebecca should come back, too. Rebecca agrees, pleased.
Number 30
Toadie, Susan and Steph are picking up the pieces that Guy left behind - quite literally. The tidy up operation has started! Steph has settled Callum with Mickey in the bedroom, playing some game together, and Susan says that Lib and Dan have gone shopping for him. Toadie insists he's fine - he doesn't need looking after.
He is, however, concerned about Bob, and decides to take him to see Steve. Susan says she'll stay with the kids, and start clearing up. Toadie retorts that he'll do it later.
Harold's Store
KYLE: Is it true he had a samurai sword?
News travels fast. Kyle knows that Zeke was there, but Zeke denies it, and suggests he ask Elle instead as she has a big mouth!
At another table Elle and Lucas are trying to track down Lost Boy - and Miranda is even on the list as one of the potential suspects! Lucas thinks this is a really stupid idea, whilst Elle thinks it's a genius piece of journalism!! They argue over whether Paul is right about this story or not, whilst Zeke stares at them, laughing. Elle wonders if Zeke knows anything, but he denies it.
Charlie's
Paul sits down with a coffee to see Lucas reading the Herald Sun, and wonders why he's not at work with Elle. Lucas says that Elle is working solo now, and Paul taunts Lucas about him not being able to commit to anything with Elle.
LUCAS: You know, I'm not the problem here, you are. You get off on manipulating people in what is otherwise a very sad and very lonely life. Feel sorry for you.
Lucas walks out, whilst Bec, Susie and Miranda walk in, discussing giving Toadie's house the once-over. After all, they have cleaned it once before...! Susan wonders if her friends have seen Zeke; she's concerned, she hasn't seen him since he walked off earlier, and she's worried about him.
Number 28
Elle has been following Zeke, trying to find out what he knows about Lost Boy. Susan walks in from the laundry room, wondering where Zeke has been - something Elle would also like to know.
ELLE: Lost Boy - I think I've just worked out who he is.
Susan looks surprised.
Dingoes' Den
Zeke and Elle come in to see Kyle training on a bike. Zeke has told Elle that Kyle is Lost Boy, but Kyle denies it - he was only joking when he told Sunny that earlier. He's all in denial until he hears that Elle is prepared to pay him for an interview. Zeke leaves, pleased. His work is done.
Erinsborough Vet Surgery
Steve is taking a look at Bob, whilst Toadie and Steph watch on. Toadie's worried that he's been a bit off, so Steve says he'll run some blood tests on him. Steve asks how his mate is, and Callum; Toadie just replies that he's fine.
Steve says he'll drop Bob off in Ramsay Street later.
Number 22
The return of the lawn strimmer. Hello, sound effects.
Paul, trying to rile Lucas up, says he's surprised that he hasn't yet left Elle. They argue over who is the most domestic and best looking after Elle, and best at being a man. It's all so pathetic, and Lucas accuses Paul of making Elle emotionally dependent upon him, whilst Paul accuses Lucas of being a commitment-phobe.
Elle walks in on the argument and, furious at Paul's accusation, Lucas walks out. Paul plays on this, and points out to Elle that Lucas clearly is unable to commit to anything.
PAUL: Darling, you're investing in a lightweight. Just send him away before he breaks your heart.
ELLE: Dad, thanks. But I'm old enough to make my own decisions.
LUCAS: Then make one now. Choose.
ELLE: What, between you or Dad?!
LUCAS: There are three people in this relationship. I can't live like this. You need to make a choice; it's him or me.
ELLE: I can't!
Lucas tells her to let him know when she's figured it out. He drives off on his bike.
Back inside the house, Elle tells Paul that her relationship is none of her business, but Paul thinks it is if Elle's going to end up getting hurt.
He wonders if she found the DJ, and Elle says she did. Paul's going to order takeaway to celebrate.
Dingoes' Den
In the changing rooms, Lucas smashes his hand into a locker in anger. Steve comes in, and asks Lucas to spot him for ten minutes, but Lucas angrily says he's finished. Steve realises his mate has woman trouble, and Lucas admits he sees fewer reasons to keep his relationship going.
Steve reflects on his own relationship - it's okay to walk away sometimes, but you also have to work at it and try harder. You can't walk because it's the easy thing to do. His words give Lucas food for thought.
In the gym, Zeke is training with Kyle, and Steve congratulates Zeke on getting the maniac locked up! Kyle admits to Steve that he's Lost Boy, and after Steve leaves, Zeke wonders how long he can keep the Lost Boy story up, milking it for all he's worth!
Charlie's
Susan and Rebecca have left Miranda at Toadie's, clearing up, because she couldn't leave it dusty. Lucas is drinking at the bar, and wonders how on earth Rebecca could bear to be with him, a man who gets off controlling others. Rebecca tells Lucas that Paul was really good to her, and Susan wonders what's happened with Elle...but she's quickly distracted by Zeke walking in. She takes him to a table and wants to know what's going on.
She queries him on his disappearing act.
SUSAN: You know, if it wasn't for Kyle Canning I'd almost buy Elle's theory that you are Lost Boy.
ZEKE: That's just ridiculous. He came clean, anyway.
SUSAN: Yeah. Well, true. It's good it's all out in the open.
Susan tells her son that she understands he needs some space to sort things out, but asks him not to cut them out completely. They're a family. Zeke understands.
ZEKE: Okay, I'll see you later.
SUSAN: Okay, I'll see you at home...
Zeke leaves the bar.
SUSAN: ...Lost Boy...
She knows exactly who he is.
Number 22
Elle is on the phone, asking someone if voice recordings can be unpicked. The response clearly isn't what she wanted. She listens to the radio station at the same time, and realises that it certainly isn't Kyle Canning.
Number 30
Miranda, Susan and Rebecca are cleaning again. Toadie and Steph come home, and Toadie's grateful for their help. Susan tells him that dinner's in the oven, thanks to Lib and Dan. Steve comes over to drop off Bob, who seems a bit woozy. Steve would like a chat with him, so the girls go quickly, leaving Steve and Toadie alone - and it's bad news.
Cut to moments later, Toad wonders if they give Bob chemo or something, but Steve says he won't respond well; he's too old. They can't cut the tumour out, either, as it's on his liver. It's advanced, it will spread, and the poor animal wouldn't make it through an operation. Toadie doesn't want to hear it, and when Steve says he could only recommend one thing, Toad says he'll get a second opinion.
He yells at Steve to go. Steve complies, leaving Toadie alone with Bob.
Outside the front of the house, Steve calls Steph - they have a problem.
