Didge telling Declan that her birth parents don't want to meet her.
Miranda forcefully telling Didge to stop the hunt for her birth parents.
Rebecca giving Didge the number of a PI to help track her birth parents.
Miranda confessing to Steve that she's the one stopping Didge meeting her birth parents.
Elle asking someone if they recognised the drawing of Zeke.
Steph spotting what she thinks is Zeke in the background of a photo Lucas took of Elle.
Lucas comes round to talk to Elle but ends up getting the door slammed on him! After an apology, she opens the door to him (but with the safety chain on) and he gives her a printed copy of the photo that Steph thought she saw Zeke in and Elle thinks it looks like Zeke too. Both agree to go and check it out and Lucas gets the door slammed in his face again after she tells him to pick her up at 6am the next day.
Elle and Lucas arrive back to the estate they went to last week to try and find the guy they spoke to last week (Phil Andrews) and Lucas tells her not to scare anyone when she talks to them! She asks the random extras playing farm workers to no avail but Lucas quickly devises a plan to get them onside and Joe the extra looks like he's ready to spill!
Steve has spent the night on the couch and is in no mood to listen to Miranda but she tells him anyway - the woman approached them a year after the adoption wanting Riley and Didge back so she paid the woman money to stay away. "And what was I Miranda, a piece of furniture?" replies Steve adding that he too signed the adoption papers. Miranda further explains that she thought the easiest way to keep the woman away was to keep paying her. Steve isn't accepting her reasoning especially given the financial strife they've been in at times and asks what Didge is going to say when it gets out.
MIRANDA: She can't. She'd never understand that I did this to protect her.
STEVE: To protect her or to protect yourself Miranda?!
MIRANDA: (as Steve leaves) But I love her.
The duo have found Phil's house and Elle uses her trusty breaking-in skills to enter the house through an unlocked window... with a bit of help from Lucas because she was having trouble with her tight skirt.
Didge has had a result from the PI and just as she is about to open the envelope with the info, Miranda comes in looking for Steve. Neither of them has seen him and she departs to continue the hunt and Didge finally opens the envelope to find out that a Joanna Hale is her mother and she was born at St. Michael's hospital, NSW. Declan asks if there is a number for Joanna but Didge replies that will cost more money.
Elle and Lucas snoop around the house and enter a room that they think may have been used by Zeke but Lucas picks up a tennis trophy belonging to a Trent Andrews, dispelling her suggestion. She still thinks she is on the right track but Lucas wants to leave however just before she does, she finds a t-shirt that Zeke may have worn (cue flashback to the pics of Zeke on display at the memorial).
Didge arrives for work (a double shift to help get the money for the PI) and goes over to talk to her dad who is pumping iron. He is evasive when Didge brings up that Miranda was looking for him and his lies seem to have appeased her for now.
Elle is trying to hunt for more evidence of Zeke but Lucas doesn't want to hang around and Elle debates whether to take the t-shirt with her or not after Lucas has climbed out the window.
Behind the locked door, Lucas is trying to convince Elle that they had to leave or risk being caught if Phil returned adding that they'll never know if it was Zeke or not if they are in jail! She puts the t-shirt into a drawer before opening the door on the safety chain again to talk to him (she is also rather miffed at him getting a call from Emma while they were in the house too). He hands her the rest of the photos he took of her but her immediate thought is that they are just like the ones he did of Libby until he points out that they only have her in them. That earns him another door closed in his face but to her surprise he isn't there when she opens it again after a little rant.
On her quick lunch break, Didge shows Declan a list of things they need for the baby (which he thinks is well OTT and mostly unnecessary) and he tells her to use the money for the investigator, not the baby.
Declan comes into the gym to show Didge the things he is planning on selling to help get the money for the PI. Didge isn't keen on doing at all because she'd rather concentrate on the future not the past therefore using the money for baby things. He reassures her that her parents will come round and she tries to sound convincing in that finding her mother doesn't matter because she has him and her parents.
Elle does a search on the net for Phil Andrews but whatever comes up has Elle scurrying for her mobile as we head into the commercial break.
Lucas arrives to meet Elle and to hear what she found out about Phil Andrews. She tells him about the results and more specifically for the name on the trophy that Lucas found. Phil does have a son called Trend Andrews (who is the same age as Zeke) but who sadly died in a car accident with his mother about a year ago and that he just moved into the house alone 6 months previous.
ELLE: That room we saw was lived in which means that he isn't alone.
Lucas now believes what Elle is trying to tell him and they depart to talk somewhere more private (her house) passing Declan on the way out.
Miranda spots him when she enters the store and wants to talk to him about how Didge is taking the rejection letter from the adoption agency. He tries to get her to talk to Didge and cuts their conversation off to take a call on his mobile.
Declan arrives carrying loads of $50 notes - he's secured a loan against the car and will get a part time job to pay it off. Eventually she hugs him and calls him the best when he assures her that the money is going towards baby things too and not just the PI.
One thing is now off the list - a pram that Steve has just bought and is showing off to his wife and daughter when Declan returns. Steve and Miranda disappear off to different parts of the house and Declan hands Didge a piece of paper that contains her birth mother's phone number. Didge tells him to put it away for now because she isn't ready to make the call.
Lucas and Elle are arguing over whether or not to tell Karl and Susan about what they found at the Andrews property but he is adamant that they should give the guy some peace. He isn't amused when Elle takes the t-shirt out of her bag and tells her that they'll need to take it back.
Elle and Lucas arrive back at the house and he reminds her how to get into the house to return the shirt but when he spots her reluctance to do it, he gets out of the car and heads to the house. This time however the window they previously entered through is now locked. Lucas heads round the back of the house and after a couple of minutes he opens the front door and calls Elle into the house. The duo head back into the room they were in previously to find it now totally bare!
