Number 24
Declan comes home in a foul mood demanding his car keys so he can go for a drive but Rebecca gets to them first. She confirms that Didge has told her about the pregnancy and wants to chat about it.
DECLAN: I don't want to deal with it. I don't want to have anything to do with it
REBECCA: I really hope that's not what you said to Bridget.
DECLAN: (with tears in his eyes) I just got onto the team and next step AFL. Everything just keeps happening for me and now this.
REBECCA: I know darling.
Just as Rebecca is about to hug him, he grabs the keys out of her hand and storms out of the house.
Ramsay Street
Declan gets into his car and drives off despite seeing Didge coming towards him in his rear view mirror.
Didge's bedroom
Didge rips up all the photos of herself and Declan. Rebecca enters her room and gives Didge a hug.
Outside
Declan is speeding down a road and goes through a STOP sign unfortunately the police see this and follow him. He is soon pulled over and the officer doesn't like the fact he stepped out of the car to protest his ignorance and orders him back into the car before asking for his licence.
Didge's room
Rebecca asks if Didge has told her parents, she hasn't, then that she needs to. Didge tells Rebecca that Declan was angry with her and wonders if he needs more time. Rebecca explains that he is lost and confused just now.
Number 26 Livingroom
Steve and Miranda come home and Rebecca lies as to why she is over (returning a jacket to Didge after the two of them had a fight) and she eventually manages to wriggle out of a conversation with them about Chloe.
Number 28 backyard
Susan and Rachel are slowly trying to get Karl's pig over to Steve's (he's going to find it a new) but it somehow manages to get away.
Charlie's
Rachel is on the hunt for the pig and wonders if Ty has seen it but he is bemused by it all. She is happy to see that his cast is off and is surprise to hear that he hasn't been playing his guitar already. Susan enters with news that someone has spotted Lennie the pig and Ty volunteers to help them look for it.
Police station
Declan is being uncooperative with the police over his identity is and is locked in a holding cell until he talks. Oh we do find out that his car is registered to Oliver.
Number 26
Didge gets suspicious when Karl contacts her parents over her work experience and stuns them by announcing that she'd rather do work experience with Steve and isn't going to Uni. Miranda thinks she is worried about how she'll cope at med school then reassures her that she'll be fine. A smile comes on her face when Steve gives her his first stethoscope, the one he used at Uni.
Outside
Ty and Rachel hunt for Lennie the pig and Rachel tries to use the analogy of Dan and Libby's on/off relationship to their one. He reminds Rachel that they haven't worked things out but is glad that Dan and Libby never gave up on each other.
TY: I guess if you love someone it's about taking the good with the bad.
Rachel apologises for her actions and the two of them are just about to kiss and make up when they hear Lennie.
Number 26
Miranda tries to get Didge to talk about the fight she had with Declan and tells her about the arguments she had with Steve when they were younger but that they always got over them. She also urges Didge not to let her fight with Declan interfere with her studies and going onto med school - the things that are happening now (work experience/school) will have a big impact on her future.
MIRANDA: You can bet a little thing like a row with you isn't going to stop Declan from focusing on his football.
DIDGE: Yes, you're not wrong there.
Number 24/Police Station/Didge's bedroom
Over music, Rebecca leaves a message on Declan's phone telling him to call but of course he's locked up in a holding cell. Didge lies on her bed looking at the broken frame and the stethoscope Steve gave her. Rebecca then stares at the picture of young Declan after emptying his sports bag. In the police cell, Declan breaks down crying and Didge tries to imagine her life as a doctor. Back with Declan, he bangs on the cell door to announce who he is and that he wants out.
Number 24 (next day)
Rebecca is relived to see Declan home unimpressed at him being locked up and even more unimpressed when he hands her his penalty notice.
REBECCA: Tell me Declan, do you think this has helped?
DECLAN: What, getting locked up in a cell? Sure, might as well get used to having a lot less freedom.
REBECCA: And what about Bridget? You don't think this has put a dent in some of her plans?
Declan refuses to answer that and heads off for a shower instead leaving Rebecca frustrated.
The General Store
"Sounds like you went the whole hog" remarks Miranda when Susan tells her about the hunt for Lennie. Rachel informs Susan she'll need to hide the brochures she has got for wedding venues because Karl is still intent on his DIY wedding.
SUSAN: He's trying to sell us to it as practical.
RACHEL: Try cheap!
MIRANDA: He's shameless.
Susan takes a call from Karl, who has just found out that Lennie is missing, and heads home for some damage control.
Miranda tries to quiz Rachel on what is up with Didge, mentioning that she is planning on changing her work experience but Rachel doesn't blab and gets away PDQ with the excuse that she has to see about her own work experience leaving Miranda all confused.
Charlie's
Rachel is bemused at Ty who seems to be telling 2 stories over his wrist. He doesn't fall for Rachel playing the guitar badly either to tempt him into playing but eventually his ears can't stand it any more and he helps her.
Number 24
Rebecca wants to get Declan to talk about the pregnancy and responsibility but he's still burying his head in the sand. He remarks it's a chance for her to start babying him again but she tells him that he's got such a lot to learn and isn't grown up yet.
DECLAN: I had plenty of time to talk it though last night from every single angle and you know what I decided? I decided I don't want anything to do with it.
REBECCA: Oh Declan come back. Come back we have to...
DECLAN: NO, FORGET IT. JUST BECAUSE YOU STUFFED UP YOUR LIFE BY HAVING A BABY YOUNG DOESN'T MEAN I HAVE TO.
Rebecca can't believe what her son has just said.
Lassiter's Complex
Declan is walking through the complex looking at his mobile when one of the skanks from the footy groupies spots him and puts her number into his phone asking him to phone her. She is only a few metres away from him when he calls her.
SKANK: Boy you are fast.
As the credits start there are some new additions to the permanent cast - Lucas Fitzgerald (Scott Major), Callum Jones (Morgan Baker), Donna Freedman (Margot Robbie), and Ty Harper (Dean Geyer).
