Scarlet Bar
Will brings Rosie up to date about her sister and she thanks him for being there for her. As she is leaving for the hospital, she runs into Lyn and Paul and he does the intros. Paul thought he'd got away with staring at Rosie as she left, but Lyn picks up on it and tells him that it is okay to notice!
At a table Boyd and Janae are having a bit of a domestic over her uniform for work and how little she actually did but she misunderstands a comment Boyd makes and so the atmosphere turns rather icy.
No. 22
Elle has been trusted to babysit Oscar and Dylan thinks he should be bonding too with Kerry but of course she is still away. Elle tries to say that it is only fair that Sky shows Kerry off to her family too and wonders if Sky is staying away because of the possible custody battle that will happen.
"Muscles have never really done it for me," says Lyn as she and Paul arrive home and Elle pipes up that will make Paul her ideal man then! Dylan turns down a free meal and wine because he doesn't want to be around Paul, telling Elle that now he is a dad, he can see the difference between him the good dad and Paul the bad dad, citing the terminal illness she was supposed to have. Elle tries to tell him that the illness was her idea but it doesn't work and he departs after kissing her cheek.
Scarlet Bar
Boyd and Janae are still having a domestic over her uniform and just as they are about to head home, Rex and the boys arrive for some beers. Janae suddenly perks up and decides to stay even though Boyd points out she is starving, just so she can have some drinks with her co-workers. They have another domestic when Boyd says he has to go home to study for his exams as he wants her to come home but Janae puts on a 'don't mess with me' face and so he leaves her to it. Perhaps he might change is mind if he had heard Rex tell one of the guys to leave him alone after one drink!
Rex orders 5 beers and a vodka and OJ, even though Janae asks for just a plain OJ. Will picks up on that fact too but Rex puts it down to 'first day initiation' and that it won't do her any harm at all. Will tries picking up on the fact Janae is underage and refuses to sell him the vodka & OJ but Rex replies back with a smirk that it will make the round cheaper.
No. 22
Lyn is impressed with Paul's cooking skills and Paul picks up on the fact that Dylan is peeved off at him and Elle finally spills about Dylan being upset over the whole fake illness. Lyn tries to justify that Paul wasn't thinking straight at the time due to CamRob having failed to bury him alive and hopes that Elle has explained that to Dylan. She also tells Elle that she has a right for her voice to be heard too.
Scarlet Bar
Rosie swigs on a *big* glass of wine, as she tells Will that a scary nurse kicked her out of the hospital because visiting time was up until the morning but that all is well. Will has a big smile on his face and likens it to the first day of the rest of his life. Aww.
Rosie turns round and spots Janae talking to sleazy Rex, wondering what is going on and Will tells her that it is a welcome night for the newbie since Janae has just started working for him. The look on her face, suggests to him that she knows Rex, which she confirms by saying that she has had the pleasure, and he tells her about Rex trying to buy Janae alcohol but he is keeping a close eye on him.
We then cut to the duo concerned and Rex picks up on the domestic she had with her hubby and butters her up more by telling her that if he had such a good looking wife as her, then he wouldn't be giving her grief. She is lapping this attention up and tells him that he is a good guy and that she is glad he is her boss.
No. 26
Dylan is surprised by Elle's appearance on the doorstep and when she comes straight out and tells him that what she and Paul did over the fake illness was hideous but parents can sometimes get things wrong when they are worried about their kids and he'll possibly be like that one day with Kerry. He seems to like this new assertiveness from her but then has second thoughts about the two of them getting back together again and shouts at her to get out of the house.
Rewind, it's only another bloody dream we seem to have had in 2006. In real time, she knocks on the door and he wonders why she has called round especially as she seems to have lost her voice. Regaining her composure, she goes in and hugs him, saying that she just wanted to be with him, cursing herself for chickening out of what she really wanted to say ala the dream.
Ramsay Street
Rex drops Janae off and tries to persuade her to go on somewhere else but she wants to get into see Boyd. He is just about to try something with her when Will scares the hell out of them when he creeps up on them and watches on as Janae gets out of the car and Rex drives off. She still can't see what is going on and Will subtly tells her to watch herself with him but she is having none of it, telling him that she is a big girl now and can look after herself.
She isn't happy either when Boyd comes to meet her but he surprises her by saying he is out to apologise to her for trying to stop he having a good time with her workmates and doesn't even mind her coming home late, as long as she had a good time.
No. 22
Paul and Lyn are having a bit of a domestic too because she doesn't want to be the main beneficiary in his will. She tells him to scrap it and instead they will get a pre-nup drawn up. Paul thinks it is ridiculous but Lyn is insistent so it can't be contested or resented if something happens to either one of them.
Domestic over, Lyn heads upstairs to bed as Elle arrives home, lying to her dad that she had a go at Dylan with an ultimatum that he either accepts Paul or she'd dump him. Paul seems rather pleased with his assertive daughter and they share a cuddle.
No. 26 (next day)
Paul arrives to hand over some papers Dylan was interested in reading and invites him to talk about it over breakfast but Dylan turns him down. Oblivious as to what did happen the previous night, Paul tells Dylan that he was impressed as to how the two of them sorted out their differences, that he is pleased at the two of them getting serious and most importantly that their relationship is back on track. This of course is completely news to Dylan and he has a rather puzzled look on his face which lasts for a few seconds until he unleashes his tongue on Paul to tell him that his relationship with Elle isn't back on track they are just having fun while it lasts and furthermore he doesn't want anything more to do with Paul. Paul tries to explain that isn't how Elle sees it before Dylan shows him the door, telling him to check his facts out...and to keep his nose out of his life!
Rex's garage
Janae, looking like she should be working in the red light district, tells Rex she is finished detailing the cars and he tells her to take a smoko but she wants to show him how well Chris trained her by working on an actual car engine. With a sleazy grin, he tells her to show him what she has knows about radiators on a car and points her in the direction of one but it is just a con so that when she leans inside the engine, he gets a rather good look at her backside.
While Janae supposedly inspects the car, he signals for the rest of the boys to come over and get the same eyeful he has just had. She catches them out when she comes out of the engine looking for a screwdriver, wondering why everyone is gathered around her and accuses them of perving. "Alright you've caught us out," admits Rex and tries to make a joke about it but Janae looks absolutely stunned and he tries to pass it off as a compliment but she still seems unsure.
Law office
Rosie is a bit surprised by the request Paul is making and he stares at her before correctly guessing the perfume she is wearing, telling her it is one of his favourite fragrances. Turns out the reason he correctly guessed it, is because Izzy used to wear it. Finally the starting at each other gets a bit uncomfortable and Rosie brings them back on topic to what Paul originally came in for, both looking suitably embarrassed/awkward.
Scarlet Bar
Elle has been splashing the cash and buying Oscar something to compliment his outfit for the wedding. Boyd comes over to collect their cups and Lyn asks him what he'd like to be at the wedding - a reader or an usher but Boyd uses the excuse of his re-sit exams as a way of stalling.
Lyn and Oscar leave to get him off to nursery and Elle tries to make small talk with Boyd but he's having none of it and indeed tells her that she should issue Lyn with a warning to get as far away from Paul as she can.
BOYD: He might have had her fooled and everybody else but he's still the same low-life scum he ever was and you are no better.
Rex's garage
Someone drives into the garage with a rather fancy orange sportscar and exchanges some looks with Janae before backing out of the garage and driving off. Rex seems a bit bemused by what he just saw but heads back into the garage...and we saw the reason why the customer drove off. A new sign has been added saying 'my boss is a slimy sexist perve'.
Scarlet Bar
Elle enters the bar and spots Dylan at the counter and goes up for a cuddle but he gives her the serious cold shoulder treatment. Paul was watching from his seat and goes over to ask if there is trouble in paradise, which Elle denies, before Paul tells her about the conversation he had in the morning with Dylan. Elle has a hissyfit but Paul tells her he told Dylan nothing and wants to know why she is all jumpy and desperate and asks if she knows he is just using her for fun? Elle is just thankful he is speaking to her after what she did and besides he doesn't treat her that badly. Paul disagrees with that statement and she tries to justify it as him not loving her as much as she loves him and adds that Dylan is the best thing in her life atm and so doesn't mind how he treats her.
Ramsay Street
Will and Rosie run into each other in the street before but he is oblivious to her new look (she has on a new dress) once they finish talking about Carmella he heads off to work. Paul however, has just arrived home and makes up for Will by complementing her on the dress. She seems rather taken aback by his comments and both hold their stares as they head into their respective properties. Rosie enters No. 30 first and Lyn comes out to meet him and he suggests that he should go to see Rosie about the pre-nup, which Lyn doesn't see the point of hurrying along given it will be ages before they get married. Paul then surprises her by informing her that he doesn't want to wait ages before getting married, he wants to do it as soon as he can (one month and one day Paul! ). Lyn naturally wants to know what brought this on and Paul replies that he doesn't see the point in wasting time because he already knows how he feels and nothing is going to change his mind.
LYN: You old romantic.
Scarlet Bar
Will suggests to Boyd that he should go do some studying since the bar is quiet but Boyd thinks Charlie using his lungs means the bar will be quieter. Boyd asks Will what his family background is and he replies nonchalantly that his dad is an accountant and his mum is a housewife before turning it around and asking Boyd if Janae had a good time. Boyd replies that Janae thought so and that she got on well with the boss too, but he isn't happy at the remarks Will makes back (the boss being impressed with her), so he explains further in that from his perspective it didn't look like Rex was interested in a working relationship. Boyd says that his first impression was that Rex was a creep but Janae assured him that he was okay, so that is good enough for him and thanks Will for looking out for Janae but she is pretty sharp and warns him to underestimate her!
Rex's office
Rex isn't impressed at Janae's sign and is a having a right go at her for them losing customers. Janae replies that it serves him right for treating her like a piece of meat and making her wear the ridiculous outfit. "If I'm paying you, you'll wear what I say," is Rex's reply but Janae isn't interested and counteracts by telling him that he is paying he to be a mechanic and so will wear what the rest are wearing! Rex isn't happy at Janae standing her ground and suggests that he should sack her, which she scoffs at, telling him that will be good for business - firing the apprentice because she wouldn't live up to his middle aged fantasy. He tries to turn it around by suggesting she was coming onto him at the bar, which leads to her calling him deranged and thought he was just being a good boss buying her drinks. Rex tries to imitate things she was saying and suggests to her that if Will hadn't come along, she would have jumped him in the car.
JANAE: You're sick.
REX: And you are a tease. There is nothing worse.
Rex now goes and locks all the doors before trapping Janae up against a wall.
