Recap
- CamRob constructs an answerphone message of Izzy saying she wants him
- Carmella has made up her mind - she will become a nun
- Paul hears the doctored phonecall
Hospital
RealCam is attended to by NearlyNun Carmella.
Scarlet Bar
Izzy needs coffee badly and Max wishes he could still party like her. Izzy thinks he wouldn't want to give up being a dad and Max agrees - but he'd rather not have the night feeds, though. He thanks her for her present to Charlie and tells her that both he and Steph were disappointed that she didn't show up to his naming ceremony.
Izzy's had a revelation last night at the club; all she could think of was Paul and being curled up on the couch with him.
Number 22
Paul is clearly shocked. CamRob had his suspicions about Izzy having feelings for him but didn't want to say anything until he was sure. Elle adds that Paul would never have believed them without proof, as he always takes Izzy's side. CamRob feels awful about it, thinking he might have unintentionally led her on, but Paul tells him that it isn't his fault.
Scarlet Bar
Izzy doesn't know why she held out on Paul but she's not afraid of commitment any more. She's going to stop fighting with Elle and be thankful for what she has.
Number 22
Elle says to Paul that he gave Izzy so much and Izzy repays him by doing this in his own home - it's disgusting!
Scarlet Bar
Izzy knows Paul won't give up on her and she's never had that before. Max thinks it's great but why tell him all this?
Number 22
Elle tells her dad not to take Izzy's side on this one, as he'd be a massive fool. Paul is going to handle it his way. He walks away and CamRob and Elle look all serious.
Number 30
Toadie's back from panto his hols and shouts for Connor. Someone knocks the door and he answers it: it's Carmella, in her nun's outfit. Toadie can hardly speak he's so surprised.
The General Store
Toadie tells Connor that Carmella is an exotic dancer now - hence the nun's costume. Connor tells him that she is, in actual fact, becoming a nun and getting ready to take her vows. Toadie thinks that Carmella is torn between God and Connor and that's why she turned up. Connor corrects him (he invited her to take time out before she took her vows) but Toadie's still convinced that it's Shamrock vs. God for Carmella's soul. Rigggght. All the mentions of smackdowns are bringing back bad wrestling memories.
Katya comes in and Connor mentions to Toadie that she's with CamRob now. CamRob's the man of the moment.
Number 28
Zeke is watching the footy and Susan guesses who's playing eventually, with a little help from expert Zeke. There's an under-15 Pie night at the local footy club and Zeke isn't so keen - all the players will be taking their dads. Susan wouldn't mind going but it's not a mum thing. What about Karl? Zeke is quite interested in this idea and thinks they should both come; she'd stop Karl from getting bored! Susan thinks that maybe she could; she'll ask him. Zeke thanks her.
Number 22
Izzy returns, in a brilliant mood, while the kids sulk away on the sofa. Paul walks in and Izzy thinks he's a bit annoyed about her being out all night. Paul tells the kids to make themselves scarce. Elle tells Izzy that, whatever happens, she asked for it.
Paul tells her, calmly, that her time at number 22 has come to an end; he wants her to leave. Izzy is perplexed - still barking up the wrong tree and thinking he's upset about the club business. Paul gives her ten minutes to pack and then he doesn't ever want to see her again. She tries to touch him but he pushes her away.
PAUL: Get out - now.
Number 22
Izzy is shrieking, asking why he's doing this; it must be a mistake! He chucks her suitcase outside and tells her that's so typical of her - she never admits being wrong! He won't tell her what it is, so Izzy tells him of her 'revelation'. Paul isn't impressed by her declaration of love. He's waited so long to hear those words. Izzy says she was waiting until she was sure of it. Paul thinks she's good, very good. Izzy says she was going to tell him. He might have believed her, hadn't she just played her last card. She doesn't understand and runs after him, upstairs.
Ramsay Street
Zeke and Dr K are passing a football to each other. Susan appears and Zeke tells Karl that he doesn't have to come tonight but Karl wants to be there. The reason he came over was to see if Zeke wanted to see the Crows play at the G today (Zeke would love to). Karl's Melbourne Cricket Club membership has finally come through and he thinks his dad (Tom) is going to be none too chuffed about it and his son hobnobbing with Melbourne's bluebloods (as Susan points out). Susan would like to join them, which surprises Karl (he remembers Susan calling footballers 'savage brutes'). But Susan's being getting into it and Karl can quite see her down the club, chatting about the game. Karl will find out if he can take both of them and they will discuss Susan's attire for the occasion over breakfast.
They spot Carmella. Connor arrives and they head into number 30 for a chat.
The Kinski/Kennedys attentions are drawn to Izzy and Paul, who come out of number 22. Izzy is shrieking about not knowing what's going on as Paul yells at her to get out while he chucks her suitcase about the place. Izzy thinks he can't do this as it's 'psychological abuse'. Paul tells her if she steps on his property again she'll experience far worse than that! Izzy cries for them not to think she doesn't know who did this.
SUSAN: Are you getting a sense of déją vu?
KARL (smiling): Loud and clear
The General Store
Karl thinks Izzy gets more entertaining the crazier she gets. She brings it on herself. Susan sends Zeke off so she and Karl can gossip more about it.
Toadie is glad Katya likes living with Susan and Katya says she changed her life. Toad asks about CamRob and Katya can't seem to let her past go. She thinks this relationship is bound to end soon. Toadie thinks she has a lot going for her and if Cam can't see that then he's too stupid to have her. It's plainly clear that Toadie's madly in love with Kat but she just smiles.
Number 30
Connor thinks it's funny how he digs up dirt on people and Carmella washes away their sins. Carmella thinks his idea to give normal life another shot was a good one and that's why she's here. She shouldn't be afraid to challenge her decision to serve God. She's staying at Lassiter's as she can't stay at home (Lucia is dead against her being a nun). But Connor says hotel life isn't real. With some persuasion Carmella agrees to stay at number 30.
Number 22
Paul casually announces to the kids that he's shipping them back to live with their mother. He thinks they are much better off with Gail. But they say they're fine and want to stick around in his time of need. Paul thinks they would have come to him with their suspicions if he was any kind of father. CamRob argues that he came here to have a relationship with his dad. Paul thinks he's let them down - yet again and therefore he doesn't want them anywhere near him.
Scarlet Bar
Izzy tells Max about how Elle's behind it all. She's not chuffed to hear she can't stay in the lounge at number 32. Max reminds her that this isn't the first time it's happened. She told Karl the same things as she's telling Paul now. Maybe she should see her counsellor. Izzy reiterates that she hasn't done anything wrong this time. It's all a setup. She's going to find out who's responsible and make her pay.
Number 22
CamRob thinks Paul is only thinking of him and Elle. The next while will be tough and maybe it would be better to run. Elle knows Cam wouldn't as he's no coward (every family has its black sheep and Cam is their conscience). Elle says they'll tell him together that they're not going back to Tassie.
Number 30
Toadie introduces Carmella to Katya. Connor's looking to put on a folk compilation that Karl left behind but Toadie drags him away. Connor explains that he couldn't play any other CDs as they have parental advisory warnings and Carmella is a nun now. He doesn't want to scare her back into the nunnery. Toadie reminds him that she knows what the outside world is like - he should just be there and let her make up her own mind about the outside world.
Carmella tells Katya she wanted to become a nun after working in a convent hospital. She has admiration for nurses like Katya.
Number 22
Elle tells Paul neither she nor CamRob are going - they'll just become distanced from each other again. They don't expect him to be superhuman - they know he's shattered and won't let him go through it alone. Paul almost cries he's so touched by this gesture and he pulls them both into a hug, saying he doesn't deserve them.
Ramsay Street
Karl drops Susan and Zeke off. The Crows lost. Karl calls Susan back to hand over her scarf and tells her to move away from him the next time she decides to scream at the umpire.
SUSAN: Shut up!
He smiles and tells her he'll see her tonight. Susan pulls off her hat and waves him off.
Elle and CamRob walk out of number 22. CamRob wants to avoid the Scarlet Bar and Izzy but Elle wants to dance on her grave. Katya appears and Elle gives her and CamRob some space. Katya tells him that he doesn't have to stick around if he doesn't think she's good enough for him. She knows her own worth. CamRob tells her it isn't that but Izzy. He reveals that Izzy cracked on to him and made him think all women were schemers like her. But Katya's the best thing that's ever happened to him. Katya agrees to forget about it.
Scarlet Bar
Izzy's moving into the back of the place, where the Hoyland siblings go when chucked out by their significant others. Izzy tells Max that she thinks Elle faked proof to get Paul to believe her. Maybe she got bloke-without-a-brain Ned to back her up. Max thinks Izzy might need a distraction - perhaps she could do some work for once? Izzy takes this as Max not caring about her plight.
Elle is waiting and Izzy tells her she won't get served. Elle tells her to admit she fooled around. Izzy still doesn't know what she's meant to have done. Katya and CamRob appear and Elle takes CamRob's phone, which he's reluctant to give up. Izzy takes it and listens to the message...her own voice saying there's nothing like being with Cam. She asks what it is and says she never left the message.
ELLE: Izzy, you are busted. Now everyone will know what a sad old tart you are. Deal with it.
Izzy looks around in confusion. She meets CamRob's eye but he looks away. Fade to black
