Recap
Stingray defending his drinking
Bree saying she wants to meet her biological parents
Number 26
Janelle's trying to set Bree straight, she doesn't see the point in going to meet them. Bree wants to go, and it's none of Janelle's business. Janae butts in saying maybe they like it they way things are. Bree tells her that her parents and their sister is out there somewhere and don't they want to know her? Stingray doesn't if it means losing her. Bree says she hasn't met them yet so who said anything about losing her. Janelle says she's not going to, their her family. Bree tells her they are too, she needs to know where she comes from. Kim asks everyone to calm down but it doesn't work.
JANELLE: Bree you listen to me. You are not going to track those people down. You're going to stay here with us, the family who loves you.
BREE: Mum I have to do this. I'm going to do it with or without your help.
JANELLE: You rip this family apart if that's what you want. But don't think I'm going to stand around and watch you do it!
Janelle runs to her room leaving the others to stand around looking at each other.
General Store
Aww Steph is standing around holding bubs whispering about how they should get going. Max is sitting down drinking his coffee, reminds Steph they have an hour so maybe she should relax. She says she can't, she just wants to get there. Max tells her to take it easy, he'll get her another cup of tea they'll have the results soon enough. Steph is so over herbal tea, she can't wait to have a coffee. Especially now Elle isn't making it. Steph asks how Lou and Harold managed to get this place back. Max doesn't know, it's an enigma wrapped in a mystery. He orders, afterwards spotting Karl and Zeke come in the GS in their footy gear. He comments on him having footy training again, Zeke replying that the top players train everyday. Max suggests he go to the gym for a while to build up some muscle. Zeke thinks his muscles are fine, it isn't his fault they had only size 18 jumpers. Steph asks him what position he plays. Atfer a bit of confusion Karl says he's the water carrier but his dream is to be on the team. Max gives Zeke some advice; if he manages to get out onto the field he's to play hard, coaches love a tough nut. Karl adding that he thinks Max means play the ball not the man. Steph thinks Zeke will be alright, that Max meant Zeke shouldn't take any backwards steps. Zeke asks if they mean if someone hits him, hit them back. Karl tells him Max isn't, violence can never be condoned on the field or off. Steph seems to find that funny, Max tells Zeke to have a good time.
Number 26
Stingray, Janae and Bree are all congregated in the girls room talking about how Janelle is really upset and Bree should go talk to her. Bree doesn't want to though, and she isn't changing her mind. Janae says they aren't asking her to, Stingray adding that he thinks it would just be a nice thing to do. Their mum has taken this really bad.
In the kitchen Kim's listening to Janelle go on about how Bree's her baby and all she had to do was make the whole thing worse by yelling. Kim tells her she's working herself up over nothing. They knew Bree would be "all over the shop" when she found out.
Back in the bedroom Bree says that they can't stop her from meeting her biological parents, it's not right. Stingray asks her to have a bit of sympathy. She only found out five minutes ago and she's ready to walk out the door. She reminds him it wasn't five minutes, more like a day plus it seems like forever. Stingray asks why. Is it because she can't wait to get out of there? Because they don't matter to her... because they're not her 'real' family. She replies she's just curious, Janae telling him to lay off. Stingray concludes his family is hopeless so he's off. Bree asks why everyone is taking this out on her, it's not like she planned this. Janae knows he didn't mean it, he's scared that as soon as Bree meets these people she'll leave them. Janae doesn't blame her, they're a bunch of loonies.
Janelle's now ranting about how her ranting has probably driven Bree to go. And of course she will, she'd be an idiot not to. Kim says they have no right to keep her from finding out who she is and where she came from. Janelle tries the fate path, that Bree was meant to be with them but Kim tells her this issue is not going to go away.
JANELLE: I just can't lose her.
Number 28
Stingray has come to talk to Rachel about what's happening. He's a munter, Bree's dealing with the biggest news of her life and all he can do is yell at her. Rachel thinks it's hard for him too. Stingray wants to know why when everything is going right for his family something happens to rip them apart. Rachel says if she was in that position she would want to know her real family too. Stingray's the same and that's the crazy thing. What Bree is asking for is fair enough, he just doesn't want her to it. Rachel thinks hey he gets to meet his real sister but he considers Bree to be his real sister. He just doesn't want to deal with it right now. Rachel suggests they go do something to take his mind off it. Dylan left his car... Stingray remembers he has some filming he needs to do. Rachl goes to grab her things, when Stingray asks for a drink saying to grab one from the fridge as she goes to her room. Stingray opens the fridge to the dilemma. Coke vs alcohol. He picks the alcohol, putting his thick wristband on it to be like a stubby holder. He offers her and cola and they go head out.
Number 26
Bree comes into the kitchen, asking Janelle where everyone is. She replies they've all probably run for the hills. Bree doesn't want to get into another fight and Janelle doesn't either. The last thing Bree wants to do is break up the family, it just seems like everyone is against her and she doesn't know why. Janelle tells her she shouldn't feel like that because she is surrounded by people that love her. But can't she see that going through this whole thing will change everything and it doesn't have to. Bree says with that thing she can do with her thumbs and being the only one in the family that can curl her tongue she just wants to know why, where she comes from. She might learn something about herself or who she's going to be. Janelle thinks she'll be the person she decides to be and these people won't change that. Bree says that's easy for her to say but she's different and always has been and she didn't know why.
BREE: Aren't you dying to meet her? I mean, you've got a daughter you've never even met before.
JANELLE: So what happens when you find this family of yours? I mean are you going to stay with us or...
BREE: Oh mum I might not even like them. They might not even like me!
JANELLE: They're going to love you. Who wouldn't.
Aww! After the break still in the kitchen Kim and Janelle make their plans. Their both going together, the fact they ripped up the address hasn't helped... they know the street and the house number is the same as their wedding day. Janelle says they've got to get this right, they can't go banging on every door in the street. Janae and Bree come in just to hear that bit, Bree can't believe they don't have the address. Kim tells her they do have the address more or less. They midwife that was on duty at the time helped them out. Bree accuses them of going to see her family but they assure her they haven't, and no matter what kind of people they are they wouldn't stop her meeting them. Bree thinks they should call them. Unfortunately the number is private so they have to front up to them. Janae doesn't think that's a good idea, suggesting they write them a letter but Bree thinks that would take too long. Janelle says they should get it over and done with, Kim agrees and asks Bree how she feels. She says let's do it.
Outside Grease Monkeys
Stingray is giving orders to Rachel. He wants her to rev the car while he gets a shot. She thinks that's cool, getting in the car and revving right away. Stingray tells her to wait but she can't, Stingray warning her again. Finally it's ready, and action! Rachel revs while Stingray pans out to get Max, Steph and Charlie in the stroller in shot. Max apologises. Stingray sarcastically says it's fine, Rachel saying she could do this all day. She's a rev head in the making.
Max and Steph get out of way and back onto the sidewalk. Max asks if Steph is alright about going in and she is, just a bit scared that the news might be bad. She starts to worry if the cancer hasn't gone, Max tells her not to be so negative. But ah he was the one talking about Industrial Relations reforms for the last few blocks. Max tells her they've made it this far, they can take on whatever comes.
Number 28
Karl's looking at Zeke's black eye. He gives him a ice pack to hold on it. Zeke asks what Karl's going to use because they only have one. It's at this moment we see that Karl has a black eye too. He says he'll improvise, getting a packet of peas out of the freezer and a rag from the bench. Karl tells him they have to keep them on the eye for 20 minutes to help. Zeke likes his black eye, it looks cool. He thanks Karl for sticking up for him. Karl thinks that if that thug had kept his elbows down it would never have happened. Zeke go on to say that the thug and his dad got a surprise when Karl jumped the fence. Karl was just going to check if Zeke was okay. Zeke says both of them getting stretchered off was fun, and he never knew being a water boy could be so dangerous. Karl tells him some people just want a fight. Now we find out that Karl got a good punch in before he went down *sniggers*. Karl asks Zeke to leave that bit out when explaining the situation to Susan. Luckily for Karl Zeke agrees.
Number 26
Bree's checking how she looks in the mirror, asking Janae what she thinks. Janae replies that it's fine. Bree says that first impressions count but Janae thinks that if they are judging her by what she's wearing she's better of not knowing them. Bree starts off on a spiel about them being movie stars or royalty, despite them being in Colac. Janae doubts she would be a princess. She asks if she even knows what she's going to say when she gets there. Bree has been going over it in her head about one million times. Janae says that these people don't know her and probably don't even know she's switched. Bree asks if it isn't a good idea to go but all Janae wants is for her to be prepared for how they are going to react. They'll get freaked out... and maybe she should wait a bit. Bree thinks they'll be freaked out no matter what. Kim and Janelle come in asking if she's ready. That she is. Janelle asks Janae if she's coming.. which she isn't, she thinks these people don't need a tribe coming. She wishes Bree a solemn good luck before going into the kitchen.
Outside Grease Monkeys
Stingray packs up and gets in the car. Rachel asks where they are going next. Sting says it's a long road so he can get a perspective shot. Just as he starts up Stingray hears the police siren and looks in the rear-view to see the police turn up behind him. He can't, believe it he hasn't even moved. Rachel says maybe they just want to check his licence. Stingray's edgey, asking Rachel to pass over the mints. She wants to know what's going on. Stingray doges the issue... but confesses he had a beer at her place. Rachel gets rightfully mad, calling him insane. He says he wasn't thinking and was upset. Rachel begins to tell him the consequences of drinking on your Ps but he knows, you lose your licence.
Outside The General Store
Rachel says it wasn't that high but it doesn't matter it's suppose to be zero. Stingray tells her that they'll charge him with drink driving, he'll lose his licence and will probably get a fine. He asks her to go home because he's going to be dealing with this for a while (he has to go back to the police station). She's coming with him, his day has been bad enough she wants to help.
Number 32
Happy Max and happy Steph look at the piece of paper with the words all clear on them. She can't believe it's all over, but Max can. He wants to get the results framed they're so happy. Steph's so happy there is no more pills or radiation treatment or herbal tea! Max thinks this calls for a celebration, asking her what can they do. Suggestive Steph nods... Max gets the idea. But Charlie and his crying breaks up their plans...
Scarlet Bar
... so instead they pop open some champagne! Max toasts to his happy, healthy wife. Now Karl and Zeke break up the celebrations with Karl's congratulations. Steph notices Karl's black eye so Zeke proudly announces they both got into a fight. Max asks what happened to violence is never the answer. Karl defends himself, saying Zeke was given a hard time by some kid. Steph asks if this kid hit him to but no it was his dad. Zeke announces his is blacker to some laughter and Karl asking if he wants to play pool. But this kid goes know how to play any ball sports. Karl tells him to rack it up anyway while he gets some orange juices. Max can see the ickle tacker is happy and this footy thing was a good idea. Steph adding even if it isn't so good for Karl. Max asks if he got to play while getting the drinks. He didn't but Karl thinks it's good for him to get amongst it. He takes the drinks over to Zeke while Max comes back around to Steph amazed at the fact Karl got punched. Steph jokes that at least he'll know where to get a bouncer. He agrees or he will get that steamroller Lyn Scully. He wants to see the contract Steph signed, asking if she had to change them. Steph says it was fine. But when it comes to him asking about terms and percentages she admits she only quickly through it. Anyway she doesn't think her mum would let her sign anything dodgey. After Steph tells him their copy is at home he runs off to read it.
Number 28
Stingray and Rachel are back, arguing over him deciding not to tell his parents he has to go to court. Rachel asks if he's just going to stop driving and pretend everything is normal. Yeah pretty much. And he'll tell Dylan his car broke down when he comes back. Oh yeah they'll both be surprised when it works. Stingray defends his actions by saying he was nowhere near getting drunk. Rachel can't see why he needed one in the first place. He says it was because he wanted one, anyway the police only pulled him over because he's on Ps. Rachel can't see what's worse, the fact he still seems to need alcohol or the fact he isn't even sorry for what he did. He is sorry, Rachel adding to that he's only sorry that he got caught.
Scarlet Bar
Max is back saying that the contract was fascinating reading. It gives her 5% of the net profit. Steph can't believe it, saying it's some sort of mistake. It isn't plus there are clauses in there Max isn't happy with and aren't to Steph's benefit. Steph says there is no way her mum would do that to her, it's Paul. Max tells her it wasn't Paul that was pushing her to sign it.
Number 28
Rachel and Stingray are at the dinging room table looking at each other until Stingray finally says he'll tell his parents. Rachel thinks despite what he says that he's taste for alcohol is a problem. He promises it isn't but Rachel can see it is. He loves driving yet he is willing to risk losing his licence for a beer. Stingray tells her it was only one drink, he wasn't trying to get smashed. He was drinking to escape stress, that's dangerous. He tells her he's stressed now but isn't drinking. She says that she's only saying these things because she cares about him. He can tell her to shut up if he wants to but she's only trying to help. Stingray knows she is, and he needs her to. More than she knows. They go to kiss but hello Janae walks in looking for Stingray. She thought she'd let him know that their parents have taken Bree to meet her real family. He asks when they went (they'd be there now) and if she's heard anything. She hasn't and she felt weird being home alone. Rachel says that's fair enough. Sitting down with then Janae asks what they are up to. Um...
Random Street Somewhere In Colac
Kim Janelle looks at the house around as they drive along, saying the people in this area look like they do alright. Kim pulls over to look at the map but Janelle is pretty sure it's the next street on the right. They turn back to her, Kim saying that there could be a chance this address is out of date and they don't live there anymore or they will deny it. Bree just wants to get there and get this over with. Janelle suggests that maybe her and Bree stay in the car while Kim susses it out. Nope Kim thinks it's best to show a united front. All of a sudden Bree says maybe they should've written that letter first. Kim tells her they are there now they may as well go through with it. They might find it hard to deal with but it's for the best. Bree wants to go home, she doesn't want to do this anymore. They are her parents and she wants to go home. Kim suggests they make contact then go home but Bree doesn't want to. She wants to go home.
