Recap
Susan hearing on the radio that Karl is engaged.
CamRob cutting the picture of Izzy out the photo.
Rachel asking Stinger to tell her that he doesn't have an alcohol problem.
Park
Stinger tells Rachel that he's just studying and having a traditional knocking off beer and that there is nothing to worry about - and vehemently says that he isn't an alcoholic. Rachel agrees but adds that he's drinking to boost his confidence and to relax around other people, which he totally disagrees with and points out that he doesn't drink half as much as his Uni buddies do. The two are at opposite ends of the spectrum over where they stand - Stinger thinks he hasn't got a problem but Rachel does and finally he tells her to leave because he wants to study for a tutorial paper he is getting and is struggling on. Rachel offers to help and Stinger lets her sit down next to him.
No. 22
Paul informs his kids that their mum has been on the phone to enquire if he's heard from Robert lately because he's failed to make contact with a relative in London. CamRob feigns his innocence and asks if nothing has been heard from Robert and Paul confirms that nobody has heard from him, even his mum. Elle pipes up that it is typical Robert behaviour and CamRob joins in the bashing too and Izzy adds that she can't wait to meet Robert! Paul has a go at his kids for the bashing they are giving their brother and wants to know from them why this is.
Scarlet Bar
Karl talks to Max about Jenny as Susan arrives wondering why he isn't out celebrating his engagement. Susan orders a drink then goes to sit down and Karl remarks to Max that Susan is looking a bit withdrawn and does he know why. Max thinks it is empty nest syndrome, so Karl does his knight in shining armour bit and goes to talk to her. He invites her to join in him in drink and she agrees.
In the back office, Izzy asks Max and Steph if she can do some babysitting for them but they are a bit reluctant to do so yet because they don't want his routine interrupted.
Back in the bar, Karl tells Susan about his trip to NZ with Jenny and gives the impression that it wasn't an enjoyable trip. Izzy has been ear wigging and interrupts to say that what Karl has just said is the exact opposite to the version he told Max and accuses him of being a hypocrite depending on who he is telling the story too. When Izzy leaves, Susan shakes her head disappointingly at Karl.
No. 22
CamRob and Elle are giving reasons as to why Robert isn't favour of the month (not being invited to a party and being told to get on with it by himself from Paul). Paul doesn't think these reasons are valid and says adds that Robert should just get over being the victim and grow up a bit, which CamRob doesn't agree with.
CAMROB: We grew up as best we could on the pittance you gave mum. You had no idea what went on in our home and you still don't as much as you like to pretend.
Elle and Paul give him a look and then look at each other which equals 'what the hell just happened there'?!
Scarlet Bar
Karl explains to Susan why he gave her a different version - he didn't want to rub it in due to her losing Alex and the kids. She is annoyed with him for doing that and decides that she has to go home to mark some essays and clean the house but not before informing him that if they are to get on with their lives then they need to stop worrying what the other person thinks.
No. 26
Stinger practices what he is going to say at his tutorial while Rachel plays the part of the tutor. She isn't impressed because he is treating it like and audition and not the tutorial that it is meant to be. Rachel suggests to him that he goes back to what he originally wrote as it interests her and if he loses his place then to take a deep breath and start again because they will wait until he is done. This cheers him up and he starts again and she likes what she is hearing.
No. 22
As CamRob silently creeps back into the house, Paul mentions to Elle that the way CamRob reacted earlier it was as if they were criticising him and not Robert. Elle is mystified too because Cameron never lost his temper like that and Cameron was usually the one calming her down. CamRob makes his presence known and apologises for the way he reacted earlier. Paul accepts it and wonders what triggered it and CamRob suggests it was just memories of growing up without a dad.
Elle drags him away as Izzy comes home and notices she is despondent and enquires why - she's miffed because Max and Steph would rather sell their AC/DC tickets than trust her to babysit. Paul informs her that new parents are like that, very overprotective of their child and wonders if it just her pride being hurt. Paul must have hit the nail on the head as Izzy doesn't answer but instead says she is off to bed.
No. 28
Susan's night in front to the telly is interrupted by Katya calling round. She apologises to her for the mess and Katya asks how she is coping with the empty house and Susan replies that she loves it, bar missing the kids. It sounds hollow though and she invites Katya to stay for a coffee.
Ramsay Street (next day)
As she walks home with the milk, Izzy spots Steph and Max heading out for a walk with Charlie and goes over to talk to them. She apologies to them for springing the babysitting, before she goes Ga-ga over sleeping Charlie in his pram. As CamRob makes his way out to collect the paper, he overhears Izzy telling Steph and Max that she'd never hurt Charlie because she knows how precious he is to them and indeed says that she'd jump in front of a train to save his life. Finally she gets round to the point of accosting them - she has a free day and wants to babysit her nephew so Steph can spend time at the bar with Max. She heads home and they discuss her proposition and agree to talk to Izzy after they've had their walk.
Eden Hills Uni
Stingray gets up in front of his class and recites his spiel he was rehearsing with Rachel the previous night. The class start laughing at him when he mispronounces a name and the tutor tells them to give Stinger a chance. He is struggling a bit and instead of following Rachel's suggestion (pause and start again) he resorts to the comedy impression stuff which results in the tutor accusing him of padding it out. The class are giving him negative signals too, so the tutor calls a halt for the lunch break and Stinger can retry in the afternoon. As the class leave, the tutor comes over and tells him to get his act together.
The General Store
Paul is annoyed at Elle asking him to help out at the store and she has a go at him for sacking Dylan. Rachel and Katya arrive just as Susan is about to leave and turns down their invitation to join them in favour of marking those essays again. Once Susan leaves, Rachel tells her sister that Susan wanted to say yes and Katya replies that they can't force her to stay. Rachel remarks about Susan not being he usual immaculate self and Katya tells her that the house is looking a mess too. "I just wish we could all be together again," says Rachel before quickly adding that it isn't a dig at living with her and Zeke.
Scarlet Bar
Looks like Max and Steph decided to let Izzy babysit but Steph is getting panicky and wants to go and check up on them. Max replies that she's not long phoned and if she phones again then Izzy is going to think that they don't trust her. He finally manages to calm Steph down and is puzzled by Stingray coming into the bar when he isn't rostered on. Stingray says he is there as a punter and orders a beer and a toasty and another bottle of beer for his invisible mate who is running late.
No. 22
Izzy wraps Charlie in a cover she's just dried in front of the gas fire before going Ga-ga over the wee man and telling him that she'd never do anything to hurt her gorgeous, gorgeous boy. As Izzy tries to wake Charlie up to feed him CamRob creeps silently down the stairs.
Eden Hills Uni
Take two and Stingray is making a much better job of his presentations so much so he's run out of time and has to wrap it up. His classmates clap him and the tutor praises him and his theories as he returns to his seat.
No. 22
Izzy successfully feeds and burps Charlie and is still going ga-ga over the wee man as CamRob watches silently from the back door. A little bit later and Izzy drops off to sleep, so CamRob heads into the kitchen and turns the gas on before creeping back out of the house.
