Number 26
Lyn and Andy begin making out, but suddenly Lyn says she can't do this right now; it's just too strange. Andy understands and tells her it's alright. He tells her to give him a call when she's ready, and leaves.
Hospital
Karl is still asleep, and Susan continues to talk to him. She tells him to take that trip he's always talked about. She is holding a book she brought for him. Izzy shows up with flowers and chocolates and reminds Susan that the doctors said not to disturb him or to give him any stimulating activity, including reading. "Oh, but chocolate's okay, is it?" Susan asks. Susan leaves, and leaves the book for Karl. Karl wakes up and thanks Izzy for the book.
Coffee Shop
David, reading the paper, mentions someone he went to uni with who has just been made head of the Victorian Bank. Lil suggests he call him up and badger him until he gives him a job. David says he's already apologised for that, and asks what else she wants from him. "Community housing would be good, and also some professional respect from my husband," Lil replies. David says that he does respect her. Paul comes in and Lil goes over to him to sort it out. David offers to talk to him, but Lil says he'll only mess it up.
Number 28
Lyn tells Susan about her morning with Andy. She says it was a disaster. They were falling over things, and fumbling, and she couldn't go through with it. She asks Susan how she can just move on when the only thing she's ever known is her husband. "You're asking me?" Susan asks.
Number 24
Stingray and Serena are in bed in Serena's room after having done... you know. Serena wonders if people can tell the difference when they see her now.
"Okay," Stingray says. "I see happiness, over here is satisfaction, here I'm reading awe. Wait, "worship" is the word. Serena laughs and says she just fells different, but great. Stingray keeps kissing her, but Serena says she really has to go. She has heaps to do before her parents come home. But she decides she could stay another five minutes.
Coffee Shop
Lil tells Paul he shouldn't have put all these ideas in David's head. "I thought this was supposed to be a no holds barred apology for stuffing up something that you were perfectly capable of doing on your own," he says. Lil says he is capable, and she didn't stuff it up. She says David's been different since borrowing Paul's car. Paul says he was only doing David a favour. Lil agrees and says she doesn't know how she'll fix up the mistakes made, but she'll make sure it won't happen again. Paul says they'll find another way to get the funds. Lil says she's ruined his connection with Dame Clarissa and put the housing project in jeopardy. Paul tells her not to beat herself up about it.
Number 28
Lyn laments that she is over the hill while Andy is young and interesting and has his whole life ahead of him. Susan tells her there must be something that Andy likes about her, and says she's warm and funny and gorgeous.
"You have to say that," Lyn says, "you're my neighbour."
"What, you're gonna poison my petunias if I don't shower you with praise?" Susan jokes.
Lyn says that she felt wonderful when Andy kissed her and doesn't know what to do. Susan tells her that starting a relationship at their age can be hard.
"Especially when you pick someone with so many complications," Lyn says.
"They've all got complications," Susan tells her. She says if they care enough about them they can work through them.
Number 24
David comes home all annoyed at Lil wanting "professional respect". Seeing the washing not yet finished makes his mood worse. He hears Serena talking in her room and busts her in bed with Stingray. He gets very angry, and pushes Stingray out the front door half dressed and makes him fall over.
Later on, David gives Serena a huge lecture about how he works hard to provide for her and Lil, and they both work hard to teach their daughter discipline and respect. Then he finds her in bed with "the local dipstick". He brings up the trouble with Chris Cousins. Serena tries to defend herself, saying she and Stingray love each other, but David won't hear any of it. He calls Lil.
Coffee Shop
Paul tells Lil that they could probably get another chance with Dame Clarissa if they explain that David's stuff-up had nothing to do with them. Lil says to count her in. Lil's mobile rings. It's David, and she tries to tell him she's busy, but after hearing what David has to say, she says she's on her way.
Number 28
Serena has come over to visit Stingray. He says it's probably not a good idea for her to be over there, but Serena says that David thinks she's sulking in her room. She tells Stingray that nothing happened other than them kissing. Stingray says that they weren't doing anything wrong, so they shouldn't have to lie. He says that it might be best if he stays out of the picture for a while until it all blows over. Serena goes to hug him, and he flinches. She says he's hurt, but Stingray says it's nothing. Susan comes home and Serena leaves. Stingray says to let him know how "Cyclone Lil" goes. Susan asks if she wants to know what that means. Stingray says "probably" and goes to leave, but Susan says that wasn't an option. Stingray explains to Susan what happened, expecting her to get upset and punish him, even though they were responsible and in love.
"No," Susan says. "I'm gonna put the kettle on."
Coffee Shop
Harold brings over Lyn's order and comments that she's ordered a vegetarian meal. Lyn says she's decided to watch what she eats. Harold says that a woman in her situation, recently divorced, shouldn't just sit there. Life goes on. Lyn says she could never be lonely, she has a new man: Oscar.
Hospital
Izzy has been reading from the book, and Karl says that she made his day with it. Izzy tells Karl that Susan brought the book, not herself. She gave him the flowers and chocolates instead. Paul comes in, looking for Izzy, and the two go out into the hallway to talk. Izzy thinks he's looking to pursue their relationship and says she's not interested after the whole Lee thing. Paul says he's there because been taking calls all day from contractors for the new business, and tells Izzy she should be handling this. Izzy says that Karl almost died.
"A heart attack, wasn't it?" Paul says. "I wonder what pushed him over the edge."
Izzy tells him to tell the builders she'll call them when she's good and ready. Paul says that he's investor, and she can't just go walkabout whenever she feels like it, "particularly when that big dumb brother of yours decides to vanish just before the opening." Izzy says she's onto it, and he reminds her she needs to give him a cheque for her overdue loan repayment.
IZZY: So I'm just one of your debtors now, is that it?
PAUL: Business is business, baby.
IZZY: I'll remind you of that when you're trying to fill a vacancy.
PAUL: Good. Cheap labour is easy to come by these days. Oh, and in the mean time, you might want to get your act together. Fast.
Number 24
Lil tells Serena she isn't angry about the incident, but she is disappointed, because she thought the two of them were going to discuss this sort of thing first, especially after Chris Cousins. Serena wishes people would stop mentioning that, and says that this is totally different. Lil agrees, but says it's still a big step for her to take. Serena says the two of them were ready for it. She says she loves Stingray and wants to feel close to him, she doesn't know why she should feel ashamed for that. Lil tells her that shame is the last thing she wants her to feel; she has her support. As much as Lil wishes it, Serena isn't a baby anymore. Serena asks if she can tell David that. She tells Lil it was almost scary how angry he got. She tells him how he pushed Stingray out the door and he fell. When David comes in, Serena goes to her room and Lil talks to him.
David says that the first thing they should ban "that boy" from ever coming here, and his brother. Lil says the first thing they should do is he should shut up. She won't have him yelling and screaming and causing a scene. They may not like it, but Serena and Stingray are madly in love and he shouldn't destroy her confidence about it. David asks if she condones what they did. Lil says she isn't, but she won't condemn it either, and tells David the only reason he's lashing out at everyone is because he's backed himself into a corner. She says he should be ashamed of himself, not Serena.
Number 26
Stingray visits, looking for his mother. Lyn thinks that Dylan might have come around, but apparently he's doing doughnuts on the West Waratah oval. Lyn tells Stingray that his mum really misses them both and tells him that Janelle is at work, and offers him a lift. Stingray says it's alright, he was just wondering if she wanted a visit. He leaves, saying he doesn't want to keep him waiting, whoever it is Lyn made herself look good for. Lyn laughs and says there isn't any guy. "You know, you are a Grade A fox, Mrs S," Stingray teases.
Lassiter's
Harold is putting up posters for Harmony Day. Lou says he has been looking everywhere for him. Harold tells him that Gail knew where he was. Lou says that Gail was too busy helping him with the afternoon rush to mention it. Harold says that he had important things to do. Lou reminds him that he had a customer's catering order due half an hour ago. Lyn walks by and Lou comments that she's looking nice. Suddenly she sees Andy, who she was meeting there, and introduces him to Lou and Harold.
Hospital
Izzy is on the phone with her project manager, getting more annoyed as she goes on. After she hangs up, he tells her that she should go if she's needed elsewhere; he'll be alright. Izzy tells him she wants to stay, so they might work things out. Karl says he doesn't want to work things out. Izzy says things will be different this time. She leaves to sort out her business problems, and asks Karl to at least think about it.
Number 24
David talks to Serena. He says that, while his actions left something to be desired, he feels that he was well within his rights to be appalled at her behaviour. If she's as grown up as she seems to think she is, hopefully she'll learn something from this. Serena goes off to her room. Lil comes in and tells David not to pick any more fights with Serena. She has to go to a meeting with Paul and Dame Clarissa to sort things out. Lil says that the only reason this meeting is being scheduled is because David was so determined to put his social status above everyone and everything else. She is going out to fix his mistake, not to get drunk with the girls. "Makes a nice change," David says. Lil says that he would be far more careful with comments like that if he knew how close she is to walking out on their marriage.
