Recap
- Sindi getting offered 'big bucks' at Lapland Follies
- Eva asking Toadie to go out some time.
- Andy telling Lyn that he's leaving Sandy.
Number 26
Lyn is telling Harvey that they should have hired a Hugh Jackman movie (because Harvs is a closet Hugh fan), when Steph comes in. She's brought over some 'very green' jelly cakes that Summer and Ozzie helped her make. Lyn rhetorically asks if she's missing Max. She is.
The topic switches to Janelle's little outburst earlier. Lyn says good on Steph for talking some sense into her. Steph tells Lyn that Janelle spilled the beans about Lyn "life-coaching younger, spunkier men away from their wives", and has a laugh about Sandy being Andy's ex-wife (and I thought I was the only one that found that funny...) Steph points out that Lyn isn't just an innocent bystander, but Lyn doesn't know what she is.
Coffee Shop
Harold and Lou are discussing colour schemes for their new business, while David talks about Dame Clarissa Fullerton, stating that if Lil lets him meet her, then he'll ask her for a job. The two cronies (Harold and Lou) couldn't care less; they just continue to argue over different shades of pink. David gives up and points out that the colour is 'puce' anyway.
House of Trouser
Stu and Toadie are eating pizza, but Stu wants to know the time...again. Sindi isn't home yet. Toadie tells Stu that he met "this chick called Eva", but Stu already knows - Steph has caught him up on all the goss. Toadie isn't sure Eva is his type, and Stu says that's the good thing about being blind - he can "focus on the real person instead of being a superficial jerk." Sindi comes home waffling on about the 'movie', but Stu knows she is lying - she smells like smoke and beer. Stu demands to know what's going on.
Bishops
David arrives home as Lil is working on the proposal for Dame Clarissa. She can't get the program to work properly, and Dave offers to take a look for her. He fixes up the computer as Lil gushes about what an amazing opportunity meeting Dame Clarissa is, and Dave manages to get himself invited along to their meeting.
House of Trouser
Stu is blowing up at Sindi - they don't need the money that badly. Stuey, bless his soul-patch, would rather wait for the scanner than have Sindi "selling herself". Sindi argues that it's "just a job," and she's only doing it because she loves him, but Stu demands she quits - it's "just not on!"
Hoylands
Steph is on the phone to Ron, one of Summer's fellow budding young pianists. She suggests the Geek Gang come over to Number 32 for a "jam session," while Summer frantically shakes her head and waves her arms - NO! Summer is cranky that Steph said yes to the meeting, when she could Summer was saying no, as the kids are 'total freaks.' Steph says that's a quote from "the Gospel of 'cool' according to Lisa Jefferies," and points out that Summer's new thaaang is piano, and Ron, Mary and Penny all play piano too. Summer still isn't impressed. She says that Steph just knows she is too nice to call Ron back and cancel the meeting.
STEPH: That's right, I do. So stop acting like a princess, and play nicely with the geeks! Call it 'character building'!"
House of Trouser
Stu is listening to a CD, eating a bowl of cereal. Sindi comes in and moves the bowl away, and Stu tries to eat off the table.
STU: Toadie! Oh...You're not Toadie...
Sindi has 'obeyed' Stu, and quit the dancing job, but they decide not to talk about it. Toadie, however, has decided...decided what? Well, maybe he hasn't decided...Sindi commentates his emotion to Stu - his forehead is all bunched up with indecision, and he is going to get wrinkles! Stu tells him to take the plunge and ask her out. Who? Eva! Eva Genevieva! Toadie wants them to be serious, but thee is a knock at the door. It's...
TOADIE: Eva Genevieva!
EVA: I've made a decision - we're going out and you're paying.
TOADIE: Ok.
EVA: Is that Shannon Noll?
Number 26
Steph has come over as Lyn is starting to prepare lunch, as Andy is coming over, on the pretence of asking if Lyn needs anything from the shops. Lyn asks "What? Like guilt sandwiches? You make it sound like I'm selling my soul to the devil!" to which Steph replies "your words..." Steph explains that she is just worried about her - Andy has a lot of baggage, but Lyn just wants to act like a single woman again.
STEPH: So does this mean that little dream I have of you and MY dad getting back together is never going to come true?
LYN: Oh Steph...
STEPH: Just be careful.
Coffee Shop
Eva wants a jug of beer and a pizza - all to herself! Toadie goes off to order, as Harold and Lou bring Dame Clarissa in, and settle her at the table. Lil and David arrive. 'Clari', as she likes to be known, is charmed by Lil, but mistakes Dave for a waiter. Lil introduces David, and he sits down, gushing over Clari.
House of Trouser
Sindi has come to return a CD to Stu. She waves it in front of his face. But wait! What's this? Dum-da-dum...Stu can make out colours! It's blurry...but he can see colour! Sindi jumps on top of him in a...happy sort of...celebration.
Hoylands
Summer's 'friends' have arrived, and Sum is less than enthused. Steph has to enforce a bit of crowd control, as the Geek Gang begin a thorough inspection of anything remotely technological in the loungeroom, and taking it apart. Penny offers to set up a keyboard for Summer - she has some spare tools and other bits and pieces. She tells Summer she could still join their band, because "chick music rooocks!"
Number 26
Lyn is having a slight cleaning frenzy awaiting HandyAndy. Lynnie calms her racing heart as he arrives with flowers and wine for her. But something is rotten in the State of Denmark...Lyn tells him that she's been doing a lot of thinking, and there is something she has to tell him. Uh oh.
Coffee Shop
Eva and Toadie are arm wrestling at the table. (Ahhh true love...I tell you, they're a match made in heaven!) The two cronies are arguing again - this time over the cause of dear old Dr Karl's heart attack. Harold blames Izzy - he knows all about 'high maintenance women', but Harold won't hear of it. Izzy? A trouble maker? Neeeveeer!
Dame Clarissa is reading over Lil's proposal, but Dave keeps putting in his two cents worth. Lil goes over to get a cup of tea for Clari, and David promptly starts to big-note himself in an attempt to score a job with Clari's firm. Dame Clarissa gets all huffy and leaves immediately - Lil's deal is O-F-F! Lil looks daggers at Dave.
Hoylands
The Geek Brigade have set up their instruments, and begin to play, Steph bopping along. Soon she gets Summer up to dance too, because...you said it - chick music rooocks! They boogie on down while the geeks play on.
Hospital
Stu emerges from the doctor's office with good and bad news. The doctor is rapt with his latest development, but there is no guarantee that it will improve any further anytime soon, and it still could come and go. There is an operation that he can have...but it's going to cost $50,000 (about £21,000 for all you UKer's playing at home). Cue Sindi's jaw hitting the cold hospital floor with an almighty crash...
Number 26
Lyn has got all 'life-coachy' and is explaining to HandyAndy why they can't be together. He seems to take the news well, and they get up from the table. HandyAndy is about to leave, but before you can say KISSAGE! they have locked lips, and we have the first LyndyPash™. (Cue a million viewers' jaws hitting their loungeroom floors with an almighty crash)
