Makeshift Coffee Shop
Harold pulls Boyd off Gino and everyone (Harold, Gino, Lou, random extras) look bemused at Boyd's behaviour. Sky drags Boyd outside.
A Good Hair Day
Steph comes in, finds the salon empty and Susan waiting there alone. Susan says her appointment was scheduled for half an hour ago. Just then Gino rushes in. Susan explains that the door was left open so she let herself in. Gino tells Susan and Steph that Lyn had a bit of a "tiff" with a client yesterday and he too has had a scare this morning. He says it must be the day for beating up on hairdressers!
Susan and Steph can see that Gino is very agitated and they sit him down. He tells them that he's just escaped a thrashing from Boyd, much to Steph's surprise and dismay. Steph apologises profusely on Boyd's behalf and sets off for home to sort Boyd out.
Hoylands
Sky wants to know what Gino said to set Boyd off. Boyd doesn't want to talk about it, but Sky says he must have some reason for physically attacking Gino. Steph comes in at that moment and tackles Boyd. Boyd says that Gino was "creeping him out" and was sick of the way Gino was treating him during the photo shoot, making him feel like an idiot. Steph admits that Gino can be a bit over the top but Boyd should just have told Gino how he was making him feel, not hit him! Boyd retorts that Steph always takes the other person's side against him and Sky is just as bad for siding with Steph. He goes to storm off but before he can, Steph insists that he will be apologising to Gino.

KARL: Isn't it tragic that all I want to do is sit her and gaze at you?
Yes it is, Karl
Oh. Sorry.
IZZY: Well if this is tragic, then bring it on!
Izzy says she feels a bit funny in her stomach - she's hungry. Karl goes off to order them some lasagne. Just then Izzy's mobile rings and she has a hushed conversation with Paul telling him she's home safe and to get off the line. Then she tell him to "stop it" and that it "depends on whether he's going to be a good boy or not". Bleurgh.
At the counter, Harold guesses what Karl's aftershave is(!) He tells Karl that Paul Robinson wears it too - it's the latest thing on the market. Karl tells Harold that Izzy bought the aftershave for him in Sydney. Izzy, meanwhile, is still laughing girlishly into her mobile.
Hoylands
Summer has been trying to ring Max, but his phone is on voicemail. Summer says they should tell Max about Boyd's little episode, but Steph says they needn't worry Max about every little thing - she's the boss while Max is away. Summer doesn't think that Boyd will answer to Steph, but Steph says she'seven tougher than Max! She invites Summer to try her toughness out and they start a play fight in the kitchen!
Sky comes in to have a quiet word with Steph. She's worried that Boyd is taking something - steroids. Steph is surprised but Sky says they all do them down at the gym. Sky doesn't think Boyd's behaviour is a one-off - he's been demented about winning the body-building title recently. Steph makes excuses for him - stress, leaving school, diet. But Sky is not convinced.
Makeshift Coffee Shop
Harold tells Lou he's off to see how Gino is - they have a lot in common, despite their differences. Lou says he'll come along with Harold to see Gino.
KARL: Isn't it nice to have a meal cooked for us?
IZZY: Be nice if it was somewhere other than work!
Karl apologises for his lack of imagination, but Izzy says at least they know there are no cockroaches in the food!
IZZY: Karl, right here and now I have everything a girl could ever want.
KARL: What, me and veggie lasagne?
Karl wonders if she'd love him more if he was a bit richer. Izzy says when she opens her new bar, maybe he can give up work entirely! Karl says at least he smells rich - he's got the same aftershave as Paul Robinson. Izzy gets very, very defensive and asks what Karl means by that and starts ranting that Karl thinks she's having an affair with Paul. She stands up and tells Karl not to come home tonight, telling him he's paranoid and jealous. Then she storms out. (not one of the Coffee Shop customers bat an eyelid at this little scene - clearly they are used to Izzy's episodes)
Boyd's room
Boyd is contemplating his bedroom ceiling when Steph comes in with Sky. She tells him not to get angry but she has to ask him something. She then asks him very seriously if he's taking anything to enhance his performance at the gym. Boyd is thrown and stutters out, "What, like vitamins?" Steph says she won't hit the roof, she just wants the truth and then asks him bluntly if he's using steroids. Boyd says he isn't.
Steph talks to him calmly about how he's been bulking up quickly and losing his temper with Gino. Boyd is silent, but suddenly he stands up and shouts loudly at Steph that steroids are for cheats. Steph calms him down and asks if he'd be willing to take a test. Boyd says he will and Sky looks quietly surprised. Steph thanks Boyd and tells him that she still wants him to apologise to Gino.
A Good Hair Day
Gino is having a hard look at himself - he thinks he must have angered Boyd somehow. But Harold and Lou reassure him that everyone likes him. Harold invites Gino to his place for dinner. Lou invites himself along, much to Harold's displeasure!
Makeshift Coffee Shop
Karl is on the phone to Izzy.
KARL: Well, if you're going to behave this way, what tone do you expect me to take?! Look, Izzy, if you're going to be this childish, I don't know if I want to come home anyway. So why don't you just grow up!
Susan has overheard all this from the counter. Sky tells her that Karl has been making angry phonecalls all evening.
Susan goes over to Karl and offers him a chocolate. Susan tells him she's looking forward to having the house to herself tonight - everyone is going out. Karl says that he's flying solo himself - Izzy has locked him out of the flat. He explains it's because he teased her about Paul Robinson.
KARL: The man's a complete sleaze. As if she'd even consider it.
SUSAN: When she has you!
KARL: Well, exac-
Karl smiles wryly and says he'll just crash at the hospital because he's left his wallet in Izzy's bag!
Susan bids him goodbye but as she's leaving changes her mind, and offers him her couch for the night. After a bit of persuading, Karl goes off with her. Sky smirks to herself quietly as she watches them go.
Bishops
Lou and Gino are making smalltalk about Janelle's apprenticeship. Harold answers the door to Boyd who wants to know if he can get Gino's address. Harold says he can do better than that - Gino's right there.
Boyd apologises profusely to Gino who says that his apology is accepted. Harold and Lou are less forgiving though and give Boyd a hard time over what he did. Gino says it's enough that Boyd has apologised and sends him home.
Gino thanks Harold for a lovely evening. Then he turns to Lou and asks him if he's still on for tonight for a night out with "the ladies". Harold looks quite put-out but magnanimously sends Lou off to have a good time.
Susan's
It's bedlam at Susan's place as Susan and Karl sing loudly along to the music using some bottles as microphones. They are getting along very well as they reminisce about the song. Susan says she misses the seventies!
Karl tells her he's taking over her evening, so he'll leave. But Susan says it's OK, she can just be her daggy old self with him.
Karl gets serious and says he's glad they've got to this stage - that they can share the things they enjoy. Susan says it took her ages to listen to anything that reminded her of them. Now her life has changed - she's got a house of people that she loves, but it does get a bit much sometimes. Karl says if she needs to off-load, he's still there for her.
Makeshift Coffee Shop
Boyd tells Sky that he's apologised to Gino. Boyd wants to know if Sky put the steroids idea in Steph head. She says she did - she's worried about Boyd's behaviour. Boyd says he's under a lot of pressure with his job, the competition, Max being away etc. Sky says she wants to believe him. Boyd says maybe she will when he tests negative. Sky says she does believe him anyway and that she loves him. They hug, but Sky still looks worried.
Izzy comes in carrying a present and Sky seizes the opportunity to torment her.
SKY: Izzy! Are you looking for Karl?
IZZY: Yeah.
SKY: Oh, he left about half an hour ago.
IZZY: Any idea where he went?
SKY: All I know is, he is with Susan.
Bishops
Lou has given up the idea of going out to sit in with Harold. Harold says he wishes he hadn't - Lou has sulked since Gino left. Lou tells Harold that he thinks anything fun is a sin. They argue about Gino and Harold tells Lou to stop using Gino.
Susan's
Susan and Karl are sitting down together eating dessert. They reminisce about Susan's cooking. Karl teases her about the "rabbit stew". Susan looks incredulous and says that they had a pact never to speak of it! Karl laughs his head off and says Susan still owes her for that woman's dentistry bill!
As they laugh happily with each other, Izzy approaches the front door. She listens at the door as they continue to laugh about the stew. Izzy looks upset and flounces off.
Inside, Karl puts his head on Susan's shoulder as he laughs. Then he takes her hand and gently caresses it. Their laughter fades away, and the evening is over. Susan awkwardly goes off to bed leaving Karl sitting dejectedly on her sofa.
Hoylands
Steph and Summer are chatting amiably when Boyd comes in. Summer tells them that her "thing" is going to be playing the piano. Boyd says she's crazy - she hated it when she did piano before. But Summer says she's more mature now. Steph says that's fine by her.
Steph asks Boyd and Summer to have a little meeting about the household chores - she starts to give them a list of standard stuff - shopping, etc. But Boyd and Summer are conferring and then they hold up a piece of paper each - Boyd's with a 1, and Summer's with a 0. Boyd tells Steph it's her parent rating out of 10. Steph is pleased and very touched.
Susan's
Karl is lying awake on the sofa. Eventually he gets up and walks across the room to Susan's bedroom door. He just stands there, thinking. At that moment, Susan opens the door dressed in a robe. They look at each other silently.
