Lou's Place
Libby and Susan are playing darts. Karl and Izzy walk in and go up to the bar. Izzy suggests they order whatever they like to celebrate being in love. Izzy's phone rings and she moves away from Karl to answer it - it's Darcy, who tells Izzy he's seen her medical records and that she should meet him in half-an-hour in the building next to the hospital. Izzy ends the call and goes back to Karl, who asks her if everything is OK. Izzy tells Karl everything is fine.
Hoyland House
Max is on the phone to Lyn as Steph comes in the front door. Max tells Steph it's the last time - presumably meaning that he'll cover for Steph so she doesn't have to talk to her mother. Max makes the point that now Jack's been charged with driving under the influence of drugs, it's going to be difficult to keep it from Joe and Lyn. Steph tells Max it isn't the right time to tell her parents, but she doesn't want to fight with him. Max replies that he doesn't want to fight either, but suggests that Jack will come out of hospital and resume his partying ways. Steph says Jack won't - he's got the message and is ready to make the change.
Lou's Place
Libby and Susan are still playing darts. Susan is pretty hopeless and keeps missing the board. Karl joins his ex-wife and daughter and tells Libby about his efforts to teach Susan to play darts. After one of Susan's darts actually scores, Karl quips that Andy "The Viking" Fordham (I think - he's the only one I can think of) better watch out. Susan asks who that is and Karl explains he's a darts champion. Susan misses again and says "damn" . Libby goes to get the darts from the board, leaving Karl and Susan to talk. Karl tells Susan he heard about Tom. Susan asks if Karl thought he would check she was ok and offer a shoulder to cry on. Karl says no, and adds that if she wants someone to talk to, etc, he's there for her. Susan says she's fine. Libby comes back from collecting the darts and Karl re-joins Izzy at the bar (Izzy was presumably in the Ladies). Izzy is very jittery and Karl asks if she has any pains. Izzy covers by saying she has problems with a coffee supplier and tells Karl she'll see him at home later as she walks out of the pub.
Bishop House
Sky is looking through a box of underwear. Harold comes in and turns away, apologising. Sky explains that the underwear is not hers, but a new business venture - lingerie parties. Harold is taken aback and says that he thinks Sky is too young to be doing something along those lines. Sky suggests Harold could be her financial backer but he says no when Sky tells him she needs an investment of AUS$1,000. Harold suggests Sky swallows her pride and asks Izzy for her old job back at the Coffee Shop but Sky says "no way". Sky wonders "where am I going to get a dummy to put up the capital?"
Cut to
Susan's House
Sindi likes the idea of the lingerie party. After some negotiation, Sindi and Sky agree that Sindi will put up the AUS$1,000 and she and Sky will split the profits 50/50.
Stairwell
Darcy and Izzy meet up. Izzy asks Darcy what kind of sick game he is playing. "Twister" Darcy replies. Darcy tells Izzy he knows Karl is not the father of her child and that he has seen her medical records. Izzy asks why Darcy is doing this. Darcy replies asking why Izzy is doing it. Izzy tells Darcy she loves Karl. "Funny sort of love" Darcy retorts. Darcy says he owes the Kennedys a big favour and this is it. He wants Izzy to leave and gives her 24 hours otherwise he'll start talking.
Hoyland House
Sindi is trying to convince Steph to come to the lingerie party, using Max as a reason. Steph tells Sindi Max isn't interested in women's underwear. Sindi asks Steph to come anyway, as a favour to Sky. Steph gives in as Max walks into the room and asks what's going on. Steph explains, which leads to the much-quoted line from Max: "I couldn't care less what Steph wears to bed - it never stays on very long anyway." Steph laughingly protests to her husband as Sindi looks a little shocked.
Karl and Izzy's Apartment
Karl and Izzy are playing happy families. Izzy mentions Karl consoling Susan in the pub. Karl says he just wanted to make sure Susan was OK. Izzy is looking panicky again and asks Karl if he would ever leave her. Karl says of course he wouldn't. "Let's get married" Izzy blurts out. Karl looks stunned.
Bishop House
Lil is trying to scratch her back and asks Sky to do it for her. Lil, Harold and Sky discuss the lingerie party, during which we learn that Lil wears fairly racy undies that David buys for her. Sky invites Lil to the party before she goes off. Lil then asks Harold to scratch her back for her.
Karl and Izzy's Apartment
Izzy and Karl are talking about the marriage proposal. Karl wants to know what has brought it on as it wasn't what he was expecting to hear. Izzy says she has never really been in love before and she is in love with Karl. Karl says he feels the same way and then answers her question: "why not, let's get hitched" then goes and spoils it by reminding Izzy that he has to get divorced first.
Susan's House
Sindi, Sky, Liljana, Susan, Libby and Steph are looking through the lingerie. Susan is holding a skimpy red number which the others urge her to try on. She refuses, but says she'll buy it anyway. Lil finds a French Maid's outfit and Sindi and Sky mutter that at last the others have found the kinky stuff. Steph suggests Sindi should try it on for them. Sindi protests but Lil tells her that if she wants to make any more sales, she should. Sindi looks worried momentarily before standing back and undoing her robe to reveal she's already wearing one. Sindi wonders whether she should buy a French Maid's outfit for herself. Susan thinks she should and quips that "Toadie will think Christmas has come early".
Ramsay Street
Max wheels out the rubbish bin and parks it on the kerbside, then spots Harold standing in the road looking towards Susan's house. He goes over and asks Harold if everything is OK. Max comments that it sounds like the ladies are having a good time at Susan's and he and Harold start to talk about women's underwear, Max saying that it's a bit tacky. Harold then goes off into his own little world, musing about various styles of lingerie, during which Max starts to look more and more uncomfortable, his eyebrows almost disappearing into his hairline. Max walks away, leaving Harold to his own thoughts. Harold sees Max has gone and realises his comments may have been a bit much.
Susan's
Steph has given in and bought some undies. She says Max will flip over the price (AUS$75.00). Lil replies that it would be grounds for divorce, then realises she's sitting next to Susan, who just smiles. Sindi asks Steph whether the receipt should be made out in the name of Scully or Hoyland. Steph says she doesn't know as it feels weird changing her name after so long. Libby says she doesn't have to change her name and lose her identity. Lil says that by taking David's name she didn't lose her identity. Susan (who is trying on an outfit that could be a saucy waitress or nurse one - I couldn't work out which), says that a name doesn't define who you are. Sindi prompts Steph, who decides on Hoyland. Sindi says at least it's a nice name and not something horrid like Smith. Susan tells her that her own maiden name was Smith. Liljana laughs and Sindi looks uncomfortable. Susan wonders whether after the divorce she will have to go back to being "plain old Susan Wendy Smith."
The Coffee Shop
Izzy comes out of the kitchen and stuffs notes into her bag. Harold walks in with Max, trying to explain his behaviour the night before. Max tells Harold his secret is safe. Izzy comes up to Max and Harold and announces she is getting married and that she asked Karl the previous evening. Max is surprised so Izzy reminds him that Steph proposed to him. Max hugs his sister as Susan walks up to the counter. Izzy looks embarrassed and tells Susan she's sorry; she didn't see her. Susan congratulates Izzy, who thanks her. "You certainly deserve each other" Susan says and says she hopes they will both be very happy. Susan then tells Izzy it's a pity she and Karl will have to wait until the divorce comes through.
Susan's House
Libby is at home with Ben. Susan walks through the front door with Darcy and at Libby's query, says that she thought Darcy might like a home-cooked meal before he starts his day release. Libby leaves to meet up with the girls at the Coffee Shop. Susan tries to stop Libby, telling her she needs to talk to her, but Libby leaves anyway. Darcy says Susan and Karl must be proud grandparents. Susan says "yes, we are" then corrects herself and says "I am". Darcy asks if Karl doesn't see much of Ben and Susan replies "not nearly as much as he should" then asks if they can not talk about Karl. Susan tells Darcy that Karl and Izzy are going to be married, then says she's being silly, she shouldn't care and that it shouldn't matter to her, it's just that it's made her realise that "that woman" is a permanent fixture in Karl's life now. Darcy tells Susan things have a way of working out.
The Coffee Shop
Liljana, Sindi, Libby and Ben are sitting at a table. Libby comments that she thinks she's the only one who got a wink of sleep the previous night. Lil says she holds Sindi personally responsible. Harold overhears and asks to be spared the details. Sky comes in and tells Harold he missed out on a great business opportunity to which Harold replies that he doesn't want to hear any more about it, before adding that anyone would think "this lot" - Libby, Sindi and Liljana - had been locked away in a convent, but the bonus for him is they will all have ravenous appetites. Sky joins the ladies at their table. Sindi tells Sky that their first party was a great success but the real test will be Steph, who conveniently enters the Coffee Shop at that point and joins the Lingerie Ladies' at their table and announces that "last night was the best night of our married life" and shakes Sindi's hand, asking when the next party is going to be.
Stairwell
Izzy is waiting nervously for Darcy who then comes through the door and asks why she is still around. Izzy says she's not leaving, to which Darcy replies that his instructions were very clear. Izzy tells him she thought they could come to some other arrangement and takes the money out of her bag. Darcy tells Izzy she can't buy her way out of the situation. Izzy asks what she's ever done to Darcy. He replies that it's nothing personal and that another time, another place, who knows what might have happened between them. Izzy doesn't seem that keen on the idea. Darcy tells Izzy he's doing it for Karl and Susan. Izzy says the Kennedy marriage is over and Karl wants to be with her. Darcy tells Izzy the Kennedys would have recovered and starts walking down the stairs, telling Izzy it's now time for her to go. Izzy follows him down the stairs, asking how much money it will take and that she can get more if necessary, but Darcy won't listen. Izzy starts shouting at Darcy, asking why he can't just let her be happy. Darcy turns to talk to her, but loses his footing and tumbles down the stairs, hitting his head on the wall in the process. Izzy checks Darcy's pulse and looks relieved that he's not dead. She takes her mobile phone out of her bag and starts to dial a number, then thinks better of it and instead takes some jewellery out of her back and stuffs it into Darcy's pockets before taking her money and going back up the stairs.
