- Valda asking Lou to put her on salary at the pub.
- Rosie telling Max about her trip to Papua New Guinea.
Coffee Shop
Susan and Harold are talking about Rosie going to Papua New Guinea and how she leaves the next day. Candace Barkham comes up to Susan and asks to have a word with her about some talk that she wanted to Karl to have with the senior students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and how she is having second thoughts about it. Candace said that she still thinks that the talk should happen just with someone else conducting it given that some of the students were in court when Karl faced his drink driving charge. Susan's face has nothing short of a disgusted look on her face.
The Hoylands'
Summer is sitting on the couch with her leather jacket in her lap. Boyd offers Rosie his "secret recipe" drink as Max tells him to stop forcing his milkshakes on his defensive Grandmother. Max sits down next to Summer and hands her what looks like a bowl of ice cream. Summer seems upset that Steph is gone and that Rosie is going and that she won't have anyone to talk to.
Coffee Shop
Harold is handing Susan her order with extra bacon as promised. Susan is about to head out the door when Candace Barkham stops her and asks to her to make sure that she talks to Karl. Susan in one fowl swoop spins around and literally "gives" it to Candace saying how she could understand that she might have a problem working with someone who used to hold her job which is no reason for taking it out on her entire family. Susan comments on how unfair Candace was in the Libby's interview and that Candace is insinuating that Karl isn't suitable to speak to the students. Candace gets defensive and leaves after saying that Susan misunderstood what she said.
Lou's Place
Valda is looking over the menus saying how they need updating to which Lou says that they are fine and that they do their job, to list the food and the prices. Connor comes in with a roll of barb wire saying that is at least pre 60s but Lou says it is no good and says it isn't worth a brass razoo. Stuart comes in holding a Japanese diorama type thing, which Valda tells him to put down on a table for now. Valda says that it is for her new menu plan, which Lou seems to have no idea about and Valda tells him that he is going to love.
The Kennedys
Susan is saying how she can't believe that she went off at Candace Barkham like that and Karl says that he hopes that she didn't alienate her. Susan hopes that she hasn't ruined Libby's chance at the job. Karl says that he cant believe that he has to take driver education classes to which Susan offers him a lift. Karl declines the offer and says that he will take the bike.
Lou's Place
Valda is going over the new menu with Lou. Valda says that the plan is to offer the customers Cuisines of the World beginning with Japan. Lou seems less than impressed that Valda has failed to run it by him. Valda wants Stuart and Connor to be waiters because they are good looking and that is what sells any product, good-looking people presenting it.
The Scullys
Michelle is looking bored as Valda comes in reading a letter that says Andreas is coming to visit and is bringing Blanche and Stella as well. Valda asks Michelle what is wrong and Michelle says that she has been hanging tough and still hasn't heard from Connor. Valda gives her some words of wisdom; to always start off harder than you mean to go on that way you have plenty of room to manoeuvre later. She also says that the world is manipulative and you have to learn that or get left behind.
Driver Educational Class
Karl arrives for the Driver Educational class and we see Candace Barkham there making a cup of tea. Karl asks her what she has done to deserve being there and she just says that she is observing. Is this really the case or did Susan have a point when she said that Candace was being judgemental.
Toadie's
Connor opens the door to see Valda. Valda says that Michelle is very upset at his behaviour and Connor says that he hasn't done anything. Valda says that if he continues to ignore Michelle then he runs the risk of losing her altogether. Connor shows him to the door and reminds him that he and Stuart can't be late as they need to be fitted for their uniforms.
Driver Educational Class
They are finishing up and it seems that Candace has no idea who Karl is. She does though say that she was there for educational purposes. Karl introduces himself and Candace says oh dear realising who he is. Candace introduces herself as well but says that Karl probably knows her better as the wicked witch of the west. Susan walks in and offers Karl a lift home and goes off yet again at Candace saying something about the pot calling the kettle black.
The Scullys
Valda is saying how getting her Japanese theme is more important than attending Rosie's farewell do saying that they never really got on so it would be a little bit of hypocrisy if she did attend. She opens the door and finds Connor there about to knock. Michelle is sitting on the couch looking a little stunned to see Connor there. Connor says that he is there to do the right thing by Michelle. Connor says that he has been busy thinking about the two of them. Connor says that he loves her but that the next couple of years at school are going to be pretty important for her and that it would be best if she concentrated on her studies rather than him. He says that breaking up is for the best for both of them. Michelle says that he should just say that he doesn't love her anymore rather than making excuses. Connor says that she can have any future that she wants but that other things like him aren't going to get her anywhere. Michelle says that he hasn't grown up, as he was a runner when he first got there and that every time something gets tough, he just gets up and goes and that this time she isn't going to stop him.
The Kennedys
Karl comments on how Susan looks nice. Karl says that he has to take people as he finds them after Susan says that he is meant to be on her side to which he says that he is. Karl says that he was dreading doing the talk as he had faced enough humiliation. Karl said that Susan got so caught up in disliking Candace that she never asked him what he wanted. Susan has a shocked look on her face.
The Hoylands'
Max and Rosie are sitting on the couch enjoying a glass of wine and Max says that he is really going to miss her. Max says that he should have said something to Steph before she left, that way at least he would have known if she had any feelings for him. Summer comes in asking where Boyd is and Max says that he just popped out for a minute to which Summer says it isn't good enough and that he should be there to say goodbye to their Nanna. Boyd then comes in with half the street and some others shouting surprise to Rosie. Max said that Boyd did all the organising.
Lou's Place
Stuart and Connor are standing either side of the door dressed as what looks like a couple of ninja warriors. Connor says that he feels stupid, Stuart says that he looks stupid but Connor says that Stuart does more. Valda comes out dressed in a kimono and says that they look fantastic.
The Hoylands'
Harold and Rosie are making small talk and Rosie asks Harold if he will write to her. Rosie says that she will keep in touch and says that all her friends, Harold in particular, are very special to her. Rosie says that she will miss his goodness and his kindness and that she hopes everything works out with Ruby. Max comes over and gets Rosie saying that she is needed for more well wishes. Max makes a speech and says that he never doubted her love for him and the children saying that it knows no bounds. Everybody makes a toast "To Rosie".
Lassiters, the next day
Max and the kids are driving Rosie up to where Lou and Harold are standing. Everyone is smiling and Lou opens Rosie's door and asks her to step out of the car and a limo pulls closer, to which Lou says that now she can enjoy her ride to the airport. Max loads up the luggage into the limo as Rosie tells Harold and Lou to take care. Max and the kids pile into the limo and Rosie follows. The window comes down and Rose waves goodbye.
The Scullys
Michelle is moping on the couch and Valda comes out from the direction of the bedrooms. Michelle tells Valda that Connor dumped her. Valda says that if she really wants him back then she is going to have to fight for him.
