Recap
- Flick is delighted that Joe and Lyn are thinking about having another baby, Michelle is less than impressed.
- Ron offering Drew and Libby a house in Oakey if they will move there.
The House in Oakey
Ron is showing Libby and Drew the house telling them how great it is. It is a great house, but it seems that they are not keen, They tell Ron that it is 'too much too soon' Drew tells his father that he has jumped the gun, and they won't be able to accept on the spot. Ron seems disappointed.
Number 26
Steph is telling her parents that they will have to cut down on watching TV or their plans for another baby will never come to fruition (what an embarrasing thing to discuss with your parents)Joe doesn't want to give up watching footie totally, but Lyn says that they will have to make the effort and cut down on tv. Lyn asks Steph to invite Stu for dinner, yes Lyn was definitely a Stuph shipper I tell you. Steph declines the invitation.
Michelle and Connor are in the lounge, where Connor is telling her that he may have to find somewhere else to live, as Joe and Lyn are going to want to turn his room into a nursery. Michelle assures him that 'it's never going to happen' that it is just another phase, that it is one fad after another with them. She says that 'next week it will be something different. Connor thinks that they seem to have their hearts set on it, but Michelle still firmly in denial is having none of it. As they are going out Michelle loudly announces in the direction on the kitchen 'If I hear the B word one more time, I think that I am going to throw up'
Disheartend and folding the biggest pair of underwear I have ever seen on Neighbours, Lyn asks in frustration why Michelle is so down on them having a baby.
Oakie
Ron leaves Libby and Drew in the kitchen. Drew says that a house, land and a job is quite an offer. Libby thinks that it feels like there is a lot of pressure on them, and that it is so sudden.
Drew seems to get the feeling that it would be being so far away from Erinsborugh that puts Libby off, but he says that she has spend much of their marraige close to her parents, and now is the time for Drew to spend some time with his, now that his dad's health is beggining to suffer, however he concedes that they have a lot of close ties in Erinsborough that are going to be hard to break, and Libby expresses concern for the helth of Susan and Karl. Drew says that he doesn't want to say no just yet, but they are still a long way from saying yes. They settle for a 'possible maybe'
Coffee Shop
Michelle is complaining about something to Nina, yes I know you are all shocked no doubt, Michelle moaning, so out of character.
Connor arrives and says that he has had no luck tracking down the song 'Carrickfergus' which he is looking for as a birthday present for his mum. As Nina goes to get a juice, Connor questions Michelle as to wether she and Nina were talking about him. Michelle reluctantly admits to Connor, that while she is really pleased that he has made such amazing progress with his reading, but she can't help but feel jealous of how well Libby seems to be doing at teaching him.
Connor tells her to stop being crazy, and reassures her that she has no need to be jealous, and that he is even worse, he is jealous of anyone who looks at her, he is even jealous of the amount of attention that Harvey gives her. A sweet Conelle moment.
Lou's Place
Stu is sitting at a table with a woman, Steph looks on and then reluctantly approaches the table to say hello. Stu introduces Steph to his date, and then introduces his date to Steph as Amanda COuger. Amanda doesn't look too impressed at the prospect of Steph joining them, Steph then suggests she leave them to it, as Amanda starts gushng over Stu, telling Steph how easy he is to talk to Steph looks far from comfortable in the situation, but throws an almost loving look at Stuart, as if agreeing with all the compliments that Amanda is lavishing on him.
Number 26
Lyn asks Connor to put the bin out, in a very obvious attempt at getting Michelle on her own. Michelle says that she will allow Lyn a minute to ask her a question, when she realises that the topic of conversation in the new baby, she tries to leave the room, but Lyn goes after her and demands to know what her problem is. Michelle doesn't want to spell it out for her, but Lyn is determined to get to the bottom of it. Slightly embarrased Lyn asks her if it is the fact that she doesn't want a baby, or is it the fact that erm you know that she and Joe are still attracted to each other. Michelle again tries to avoid the issue and get Lyn to stop talking, but Lyn persists and tells her that if it is the thought of her and Joe having sex that disgusts her, that is perfectly normal. (Isn't this the sort of conversation that everyone wants to have with their mother?!?)
Michelle tells Lyn that she thinks that it is a stupid idea, she asks her if she has thought of the implications of being an older parent, and is about to open up more when Connor interupts.
He has found a tape in the letter box and thinks that Michelle has left it for him. She assures him that she hasn't. As Connor puts on the tape a version of 'Carrickfergus' fills the room sounding uncannily like Delta Goodrem, (what are the chances) Connor and Lyn are impressed and Connor asks Michelle where she got it proclaiming her to be 'amazing' Michelle yet again insits that it has nothing to do with her, but Connor doesn't believe her, he asks who else knew that he was looking for it? They both look bemused neither seeming to realise that Connor had earlier told Nina that he was looking for the song.
Oakie
Libby says that it is a big change for them to move out to the country, and she can't leave Erinsborough the way that her mum is at the moment. She also says that Drew has the garage, but Drew says that working with horses has always been his dream and that everyone should take a chance at pursuing their dream,he says that the real tradgedy would be finally getting the chance to fulfil a dream and walking away for it, with a serious look on his face tells Libby that he really needs to give it a try.
Lou's Place
Amanda is still talking to Stu, and he is telling her with an ever so slightly sarcastic tone tells her that he has loved listening to all her stories. And ironically as she is telling him what a good lisetener he is Stu, is ignoring her to look at Flick who has just walked in.
Lassiter's Lake
Connor can hear someone singing 'Carrickfergus' as he follows the voice he sees that it is Nina. He tells her that it was great, but Nina says that she wasn;t singing she was just doing her homework, and that there was 'a woman over there' singing. My guess is that it was Delta Goodrem. Not fooled for a second Connor tells her that Nina missed out on something special, as she claims not to have heard the singing.
Number 26
Flick tells Lyn that she is only there to grab some shoes, she tells Lyn that she is back at Lassiters, Lyn wonders if it is a good idea with Marc there, but Flick informs her that Marc is in London, and that she is at Lassiters to get some experience in the hospitality industry. Lyn tells Flick that she is really proud of her becoming a 'real careerwoman'
Coffee shop
Connor meets Nina, asking her if she can hear someone singing? It's his way of revealing that her secret is out. Nina finally admits that it was her on the tape. He tells her that she is a beautiful singer, she denies it, and when Connor suggests that she should make a CD, Nina says that she could never sing infront of a lot of people.
Number 26
Flick asks Michelle what her problem with the prospect of a baby. Flick says that she thinks that the problem is that Michelle doesn't want to relinquish her position as the baby of the family. As the conversation goes on Steph walks in to overhear Flick and Michelle talking...
FLICK: You know being a big sister is pretty cool
MICHELLE: Yeah why?
FLICK: Well mean, I don't know how you feel about me at the moment, it's probably a pretty dangerous question to ask
MICHELLE: (With a slight laugh) No you're OK
FLICK: Thanks.. Seriously when I was growing up, I absolutely idolised Steph, I thought she was so pretty and smart, and grown up. You know you might become a real hero in this bubs eyes.
MICHELLE: Yeah right
FLICK: No it's true. Steph was always lending me things and making mum and dad go easier on me. I know you wouldn't know by the way that I've acted lately, but it's something that I am never going to forget.
Steph looks thoughtful, it seems as though Flick has taken a step closer to earning her forgiveness.
Oakie
Drew is telling his father what a fantastic offer he has given them, and that they really appreciate it, but it's not an option for them at the moment, Libby comes in from putting Ben to sleep, and says that it's an amazing offer, but things need to be simpler at home, what with the way that Susan has been acting. Libby does say that she has had a chance to think and that she thinks what they need to do is explore an options. She sits down next to Ron and tells him to tell her about these hoeses of his, and how this plan is going to work. Drew looks on hopeful that his dream is one step closer to a reality.
Number26
Nina is there to help Connor out with the other favour that he asked for. It turns out that he wants her to sing 'Carrickfergus' down the phone to his mum as he plays the tin whistle. Connor excitedly tells his mum that it's her birthday present from down under.
Lou's Place
Michelle is telling Lyn and Steph that the real reason that she doesn't want another baby coming into the family is becuase she was being selfish, she thinks that if a new baby comes into the family, everyone will make a big fuss of it, and she will get lost in the rush. Lyn tells her that when a new baby comes into the family it doesn't mean that there is not enough love to go around, but that it creates more love. Lyn seems pleased to hear that Michelle is coming round, and as Michelle gives Lyn her blessing, Lyn wells up and Michelle has to get her a tissue.
Lyn thanks Steph as she thinks that it was obviously the work of an older sister that had a hand in the sudden change of heart. Steph tells her that she is right but it was a different older sister, and that she had earlier heard Flick telling Michelle a few home truths and that she actually made a lot of sense. At that moment Flick comes into the pub, Steph gets to her feet, Flick mistakes this for an attempt to leave.
FLICK: No you stay, I'll go. Mum I'll catch up with you later
STEPH: That's OK I'm not leaving..Same again Mum?
STEPH: So Flick what would you like?
FLICK: (bemused but with a pleased look on her face) umm... Orange juice please.
It is obvious that this small conversation has meant so much to Flick.
