Recap
Susan suggests that Joe becomes a councillor which he laughs at.
Zack asks how Michelle is feeling, she is nervous, he says she is safe, he is not an axe murderer.
Coffee shop
Lou walks in and greets Harold and Tad, he asks should he not be in uni, but Tad says it is enrolment today. Tad is looking forward to his course, audio engineering. He doesn't worry about getting the bus everyday as he will be able to do extra reading. Lou wishes him good luck, Tad misses Paul, Harold phoned him and he is sharing a house with 2 other recruits, he is worried that he is taking care of him self.
Tad asks if anything else needs doing and leaves.
Lou says that Tad will want his own place soon, but Harold does not agree.
The Square
The Hancock family bump into Tad, who jokes with Leo, Evan says he will stay so far away from that no one will know they are related.
Car Park
Karl drops Ellie and Susan off at school, Susan says she is she she made the right decision in coming back to school, as the letters from the kids convinced her.
As Ellie walks off Karl says to Ellie not to give poor old Aunty Susan a hard time, Ellie says depends how board she gets.
Karl wants to get to work before Serena gets there and Darcy is on house call.
Doctor's Surgery
Karl walks in and is greeted by Serena, she offers him a Danish pastry but he wants her to do the invoices, she was wondering if Karl would review her performance, as she has been there a month, which he agrees to.
School corridor
Michelle is yarning which Susan says is no way to start the year.
Ellie wants to know how her night with Zach went, Michelle says it was perfect.
Coffee shop
Harold gives Lou 200g of something Columbian in a brown paper bag saying it is top quality, Lou asks how much but Harold says pay him back when he runs out of coffee.
Harold asks if Lou thinks Tad will leave home, as he wants to know how he will survive. Lou says he was thinking about himself at his age. He says there is so much to pay for and things are so much dearer than their day. Lou answers his phone.
Lyn tells Joe that he wants his project to get approval, Joe says being on the council is no guarantee, but Lyn says he is not the only one that wants it to go ahead, lots of locals agree, she says it means more jobs new services ect. But Joe does not view himself as a public speaker, Lyn says Joe is convincing and being on the council he will be well placed and if he runs she will be there for him.
Classroom
Evan is asking how to calculate the voltage V, Ellie whispers to Michelle and swaps something. Evan asks Ellie how which is says I thought you would know, before asking anyone else. Before answering 15 volts, he asks how and she says V=I.R as the class ends.
Zach says hi to Michelle, she wants to know he feels the same way. He wants to know what about, she wants to know if he still likes her, he asks why not and didn't want to push her and at the right time it will happen and she wasn't ready.
The Surgery
Karl hands Serena her report, which she does not believe, he offers it her as a reference but she says she wouldn't dream of leaving him, she wanted to know if he was happy with her work.
She asks about her clothes as Susan walks in, and says she was asking Karl about her outfit, Susan says Karl is the expert on women's fashion, she says the outfit is flattering which Karl agrees to.
Coffee Shop
Lyn walks up to Michelle and says hello stranger, ands asks how her first morning of year 10 went, Michelle says Ellie was good at physics and how was Bianca's.
Tad walks in and says he liked university, and there are even a few riders and skaters there, he has met some people from the course who also like music, and he is ready, but it is more expensive. He has to go back to read before his first tute.
Evan says Ellie did well in class and she knows her stuff, he offers her some more advanced problems but she declines as she will be leaving soon, she thinks that she will have a ticket to Stockholm soon and she wants her.
Pub Office
Joe asks Lou about the local elections, but he does not know much as he leaves it to the young blokes to sort out, Joe wants to know how Lou found it as a mayor. Lou enjoyed it but felt he had taken on too much on as there is loads of meetings and paperwork, Lou asks if Joe is thinking of running for council, Joe says no and leaves.
Doctor's Surgery
Karl walks in and answers the phone, the call is for Darcy.
Karl goes to his room and walks in on a half naked Serena, and apologizes but she does not worry, he asks what she is doing using his office as a changing room, she says changing for yoga, and asks is he embarrassed.
Kennedy Driveway
Ellie gets out of the car and checks the mail, she says her mum has given her a credit card in her own name with a $1,000 limit, Susan says it is not what she was expecting but Ellie says it is better she can spend it on what she likes.
The Surgery
Karl says time to call it a day, but Serena wants to complete the filing first. Karl wants to talk about her duties, Karl has not been entirely happy with her performance and will give her first warning, she asks why he says she was away from her desk and it is a personality clash, the practice needs a receptionist with a discreet attitude. She says after everything she has done working so hard and the only person with the problem is Karl. He agrees as it is his surgery.
No 30
Steph tells Michelle she took her time coming home and was she pashing Zach in the park, Michelle asks about Woody, she was willing to give everything to be with him, then thought he was dead and was attracted to Mitch, then Woody came back and she realized she did not want either of them. Michelle does not get it, Steph says she figured it wasn't love. Michelle asks how to tell if she is in love. Steph says it makes her feel sick, butterflies and bad appetite, and she has a knack for falling for the wrong guys, loves dazzles you and you can't tell the good from the bad.
The Pub
Karl tells Susan a credit card is the last thing he would give a 16 year old, and he though he did his time taking three kids through the teenage angst years, he cannot understand what she says. She says what about Mal, Karl says that Susan is making him sound like a Victorian school mum, and it is ok as she works with them, Susan corrects them which prompts Karl to use a posh accent.
Coffee Shop Kitchen
Tad is doing the pots, Harold walks in and asks what he would do without him, Tad says he would be a fair bit richer, Harold disagrees and asks if Tad is ok living at home, Tad is ok.
Harold walks out and sees a newspaper open on the real estate section.
No 30
Michelle does not know how to ask, if Zach loves her, he says it is some question, she says it is the real l word, he says it is a fair question after last night, also it depends of what you define love as, to say I love you means I want to spend the rest of our lives together and he cannot see them as life long partners, but he does really like her. She thanks him for being honest.
