Paul tells Tad that if things were going so well with Flick, he wouldn't be sitting in the Coffee Shop with him.
Dee slips on some soapy water and falls. She clutches her stomach.

Dee lowers herself gingerly on to the settee. Toadie asks her if she's OK. She says she doesn't know and scary music starts playing. Toadie suggest that they go and see Karl and Dee readily agrees.
Ramsay Street
Karl is hosing the car down when Toadie comes up with Dee. Toadie tells Karl that Dee is pregnant. He says they'd better go to the hospital straightaway. Karl takes her in his car.
Paul is mowing the lawn. He says he's doing Michelle a favour. Flick asks him what the real reason is and he admits he lost a bet with Michelle. Flick cottons on to the fact that Paul had a bet with Michelle about how long her and Tad would last. Flick tells Paul that she and Tad are very happy. Paul says that Tad is worried about the letter she wrote him. Flick says the letter was for Zac - she wrote it for Michelle.

Joel tells Toadie that the marine biologist, Vernon Wells, is coming to Erinsborough to work on his boat. Joel thinks that he could get a job with him because he's studying stuff in the same area. Joel says that Vernon Wells is the ultimate high seas researcher. Toadie is distracted and quietly packs some of Dee's things into a bag. Joel asks what the matter with him is. Toadie says he'll tell him later and goes out.
The Coffee Shop
Lily is telling Paul that he could ask Daisy to the social to make another guy jealous. She asks if Tad has a date yet. Paul says he's probably going with Flick. The girl says she's liked Tad for ages. Paul says that she and Tad would make a great couple. He tells her to stay positive about the Flick situation.
Tad comes in and the girl leaves. Paul tells Tad that Lily is hot for him. Also, he tells him that the letter Flick wrote him wasn't from her - it was from Michelle to Zak. He tells Tad that if he wants to get off the hook with Flick, now's his chance.
Hospital room
Dee is in bed. Karl asks her how the pain is. Dee says it's still coming. Dee says she's sorry if she shocked Karl. He said he was surprised, and she says so was she - the baby wasn't planned. Toadie comes in and Dee starts to cry with the pain. She tells Karl and Toadie that she thinks she might lose the baby. Karl asks if there's anyone he can call - her family, or the baby's father. Dee says there's no-one. Toadie goes off to get her some water. Karl says that Toadie is a good friend to have with her. She tells him that Toadie isn't the father and Karl guesses that the father is Darcy. She nods.
The Coffee Shop
Darcy wants Susan to put in a good word for him with Karl. Susan said to do that she'd actually have to have a good word to say about him(!) He says that Karl doesn't need to find a new practice, but Susan says it's too little, too late. She tells him to talk to Karl himself.

Flick comes in. Tad is helping Leo with some music for his breakdancing practice. Flick says she'll come back later.
When she's gone, Leo says he can leave if he's in the way. Tad says he isn't in the way.
Hospital corridor
Karl tells Toadie that Dee is very upset - she's lost the baby
Hospital room
Karl tells Dee that she can call him anytime if she needs anything. She sees Darcy outside and insists to Karl that Darcy mustn't find out. Karl says he won't.
Hospital corridor
Darcy starts hassling Karl about the surgery. Toadie comes out of the room and gets angry with Darcy. Karl pulls him off and tells Darcy he'll talk to him later. Darcy walks off. Then Karl tells Toadie that he has to keep it together for Dee's sake - punching Darcy's lights out isn't an option right now.
School
Tad comes up to Lily. She tells him she's panicking about the exams. Tad is a bit too. Lily asks Tad if he wants to go to the social with her. Tad says that he's flattered, but he's with Flick. Lily said she wasn't sure how serious it was between them. Tad says they're serious-ish although it's still a new relationship. Lily says she thought he and Flick were just friends. Tad says that they were, but it's become something else. He tells Lily that he'll save a dance for her at the social.
Leo is being ignored by his peers. Tad sees this and comes up to him. He compliments Leo on his sampling last night. Leo looks pleased and the boys in Leo's class look mildly impressed.
Ramsay Street
Toadie has brought Dee home. They bump into Joel in the street. They tell him that Dee has a strained muscle. Joel says he'll help Toadie look after Dee. Toadie and Dee go into the house.
Darcy pulls up in an old car and Joel mutters under his breath, "Well, check out Mr Big Shot." He mocks Darcy's car.
Darcy goes up to Karl. He has seen Dee limping into the house and asks if she's OK. Karl says she is and drags Darcy off to get a coffee elsewhere.
School
Leo is still being ignored by his peers. Now they have vandalised his locker.

Dee says that Toadie could have a great career as a nurse. She is wrapped in a blanket on the sofa. She tells Toadie she's OK - he can go off and study. Toadie tells her emotionally that he's really sorry that the chain of events from the stinkathon led to her falling and losing the baby. He starts to cry. Dee says it's OK - it was noone's fault. He asks if she's going to be OK and she says she will be. She thanks Toadie for being there. He comes over and kisses her on the forehead, still emotional.
The Coffee Shop
Darcy is telling Karl that he can't afford to tear up the partnership contract - he needs a few months to work it out. Karl tells him to stop being a pathological liar! He says that the situation is of Darcy's own making - he damages people's lives without a second thought.
School
Lily and Flick are chatting. She asks if things are going OK with Tad. Flick says that they are. Lily says that Flick is lucky - Tad is a great guy and she should hang on to him.
Susan asks Leo if things are still tense with his classmates. Leo says they are. She says it will die down in a little while. She says if he wants to talk he can come to her. Leo goes off to class.

Karl has come to see Dee. She says she feels numb. Karl says it can be hard getting over a miscarriage between hormones and grief. Dee says that Toadie is looking after her and a miscarriage isn't the end of the world - maybe it wasn't meant to be. Karl says she shouldn't feel guilty and dwell on the "what ifs". Dee asks both Toadie and Karl to promise that Darcy will never find out about this. They both promise.
Bishops
Paul says that Tad's love life amuses him - a few weeks ago he would have chewed his leg off to go out with Lily. Paul asks him if he's spoken to Flick yet. Tad says he hasn't. He adds that he's sick of everyone throwing in their 2c about his and Flick's relationship.
Flick arrives at that moment. Paul excuses himself out the back to do something. Tad and Flick sit in the living room. Tad says that everyone they know is interested in how they are going. Tad says he's beginning to wonder himself. Tad asks Flick about the letter and Flick realises that Tad has been acting so full-on because he was trying to live up to what was in the letter. Tad admits she's right. Flick asks Tad to be straight with her - does he want to break up?
