Recap
- Dee has thrown Joel and Toadie out of the house until the end of the stinky fundraiser.
- Susan tells Libby and Drew that someone else has been approached about her position - she might be out of a job.
Hospital
Maggie has brought Emily in - she still isn't feeling well. Maggie sees Darcy but he can't stop to chat. Maggie asks Dee if Darcy could have a look a Emily but Dee says he isn't on duty. Maggie begs Dee to ask Darcy personally if he'll have a look at Emily. She has an exam tomorrow too and she can't afford to be there all night. Dee agrees to go and ask him.
The Pub
Susan is just leaving. On the way out he berates Toadie and Joel for not washing yet. Toadie reckons they can't smell themselves anymore - they've got used to it! Joel says it must be an instinctive human thing - otherwise cave people would never have had babies(!) They go over to Libby and Drew who tell them that they stink. Toadie says that they've got a bit of a problem - he asks if they can crash at Libby and Drew's! They refuse point-blank.
Hospital
Darcy has seen Emily and referred her to an ENT specialist. In the meantime he writes them a prescription for a painkiller and drops. Maggie is very grateful to Darcy. She takes Emily home. Darcy says it was good to work with Dee again. He asks her to go for a drink after work. Dee says she doesn't think it's a good idea.
Kennedys' Garage
Susan says that the rumour about her job has come from more than one source. Karl is going to plane the front door. Susan is incredulous - it's dark! She tells him off for ignoring her problems. Karl says he can't fix her problem, but he can fix the front door(!)
No.30
Toadie and Joel are trying to break into No.30. Joel tries to open the door with a credit card, but just succeeds in breaking it. Dee comes up. She agrees to let them in for a short time, but they can't stay. So far they've only raised $187! Dee starts spraying them with air freshener(!)
Ante-natal course
Libby and Drew are watching a birth of a baby video. Drew says a calf being born is even harder than a baby because of the extra legs! Drew says he can't wait for Libby to have her baby.
No.30
Dee is telling Toadie that Darcy was nice to her at the hospital. She did want to go for a drink with him, but it would end up as a disaster. She can't act like they're good old buddies when she's carrying his baby. Toadie says that she either has to tell him about the baby or forget about him completely. Dee said she thought she had, but the feelings are still there. She wants to believe that Darcy is a good and loving person, but she can't. Also, she wants to look to the future, but can't do that either because she doesn't want to be a single mum. She says she's so scared - of being alone. Toadie says she won't be - he'll be with her all the way. Toadie says he'd give her a hug, but he's stinking(!). Dee says she's blocked up from crying anyway so he goes ahead and hugs her!
Kennedys
Karl has been looking for practices and is optimistic. Susan is less optimistic about the whole thing. They bump into Joel who is still stinking. Karl says there are valid medical reasons for washing, not to mention that Joel will never ever get a girlfriend(!)
Darcy comes up. Karl reminds Darcy that he owes Karl $800,000 and he will take a cheque if Darcy wants(!) Karl still doesn't believe that Darcy would turn his back on 1.6 million dollars. Darcy tells Susan that she was right - there's more to life than money. Susan asks him if he has any idea what those things are!(!)
Hancocks
Dee has come round to see Emily and Maggie. Emily is a bit better. Maggie is going to take her to school at lunchtime so she can do her exam in the afternoon. Dee looks rather upset at the sight of Maggie and Emily cuddling each other. Maggie asks Dee if she's alright. Dee says it's nothing and leaves.
School
Virginia, a new school councillor has come to help set up for the fundraiser. She is a friend of Evan and Maggie. Susan asks if Evan was instrumental in getting her on to the council but Virginia says that she wanted to do it. Susan asks her if she's heard any rumour circulating about Susan's tenure. Virginia says all she knows is that Susan might be leaving. She heard that Susan might not be renewing her contract.
The Coffee Shop
Libby wants to be settled and organised before the baby is born. Drew says they should start house hunting straightaway. Karl overhears and expressed his interest! He reminds them about the fundraising auction at the school later.
Joel and Toadie come in - they've been kicked out of the library. Darcy comes in and says that they are both idiots - but Toadie says that doesn't mean a lot coming from him(!)
Darcy goes up to Karl. Karl says that before they go down the same path, he wants to say that he doesn't care who buys him out of the surgery. Darcy says there's no need - he's got a great patient base and location at the Surgery. But Karl cuts him off and tells him he can't work with someone that he doesn't trust, and he doesn't trust Darcy.
School
The auction is going on. Libby wins an auction and Susan says, "Sold to the glowing fat lady at the back of the room!" Karl comes in. Susan says the next lot is a front door and Karl should bid on it because he can't fix their current one.
Susan introduces the door. She opens the bidding and look meaningfully at Karl. Someone bids $200. Drew bids $250. Then it goes up to $300. Karl is still refusing to bid. Libby tickles Karl on the ear and he reaches up to scratch it. Susan sees this and takes it as a bid! Susan quickly ends the auction, "Sold to the balding gentleman in the purple shirt!"
Hancocks
Maggie is on the phone trying to get a babysitter. She tries Genevieve but no luck. Then she has to ring the university and tell them that she can't make her exam because her daughter is sick and she has to take her to the hospital. They put her on hold.
Hospital
Darcy bumps into Dee. He wants to talk to her about a patient but it is clearly a ruse just to talk to her. Dee says she'll be on duty tomorrow and they can discuss it then. Darcy asks if she's this unforgiving with everyone or whether it's reserved just for him. He asks if she's turned Toadie and Joel against him too. Darcy says he doesn't know what else he can do - he pulled out of selling the surgery just to please Karl. Dee doesn't believe this - she thinks there's more too it. She also thinks that Toadie is right - Darcy can't be trusted.
Ramsay Street
Karl is asking Libby if she likes the door. She doesn't like it really, so Karl tells her playfully that she shouldn't have conspired with Susan! Drew is cleaning the car - the stuff they won at the auction is a great cleaner.
Joel and Toadie come up. They are still stinking and are a long way from their fundraising target. Drew and Karl grab the bucket of water and the cleaner and start sponging Toadie and Joel down! They say it's for the "public good"! Then they turn the hose on them!!
The Coffee Shop
Maggie is telling Susan that the specialist still doesn't know what's the matter with Emily. Maggie couldn't take her exam so she is going to beg for consideration tomorrow. Virginia comes in. Maggie tells Susan that she's Leo's godmother. Susan looks suspicious about Virginia's way of doing things.
Ramsay Street
Dee is delighted to see that Toadie and Joel have been washed. Joel runs inside to take a shower - the deal is off. Dee tries to pull Toadie's shirt off him but she slips and falls on the soapy water. She clutches her stomach and looks pained. Toadie looks worried.
