Lance begs Karl to tell anyone who asks that he's pulled a muscle in his thigh.
Joel turns up at Dee's house to give her flowers and sees her kiss a guy and get into a car with him.
Tess's
Toadie has come around to see Tess and they chat about what girls see in guys. Toadie admits that he's got a friend with a problem - he works with a girl and they're good friends, now he's developing a crush on her.
Brendan interrupts their conversation and asks Tess out to dinner. She agrees.
When Tess is answering the phone, Toadie chats to Brendan about his law firm - he might be looking for a job in a couple of years. It's only smalltalk though, Toadie doesn't seem impressed by Brendan.

Toadie is telling Lance that he doesn't think that Brendan is right for Tess. Joel is calling Dee's mother who tells him that Dee has gone on a dinner date. Lance and Toadie tell him it's over between Joel and Dee. Joel storms off to his room.
A restaurant
Brendan and Tess are having dinner and he suggests that they get back together. He reminds her that she's still his wife. She allows that he's done well with his anger management training.
The Coffee Shop
Lou comes in and Harold asks how his driving lessons are going. Lou says he doesn't need lessons - he should be teaching the instructors! Merridy come in and joins them at the counter. Harold suggests that Lou and Merridy should eat at the pub together, since they've both ordered quiche and there's none left. They awkwardly agree.
A restaurant
Brendan is not pleased to hear that Tess has been going out to clubs with Steph, but he covers it up. He says it's strange for them to have different social lives. Tess suggests that they go dancing now.
The Pub
Lou and Merridy have finished their dinner and Merridy says they should do it again some time. Merridy hints that she's free at the moment, but Lou is all flustered and shs her out.
As Merridy is leaving, Harold comes in. He probes for details of Lou's evening and he tells him to get on with things. But Lou says he's not looking for a relationship.
A club
Brendan and Tess are dancing in each other's arms.

Dee rings and leaves a message on the answerphone. She says she's been out with Marcus but hopes they can get together tomorrow night.
A club
Toadie and Lance have brought Joel to the club to cheer him up. Joel is not very cheery though. They see Brendan and Tess dancing on the dancefloor and remark on it. Toadie goes over to say hello. Lance admits to Joel by whispering in his ear what his injury really is and Joel looks pained at the knowledge.
Tess's, the following morning
Tess and Brendan are running late. Brendan said he wanted to talk to her about something important but there's no time now - he'll call her later.
The Coffee Shop
Merridy comes in to get a few things. She speaks highly of both Lou and Louise. Joel comes in for some mineralwater and bumps into Dee. She is oblivious that she's upset him. Joel says that one minute they're one thing and the next they're something else. He's sick of playing games - either she wants him or she doesn't.
(Later)
Joel says that he doesn't want to be a play thing for Dee but she says she's enjoying being unattached. Joel says he wasn't ready for commitment before but he is now. Dee says it's too little too late.

Joel has revealed to Toadie what Lance's injury is and Toadie is taunting him. Apparently Steph has done well on the radio and the station manager wants her to stay on. Toadie says he can think of worse people to share a microphone with and asks Lance if he's jealous.
The Coffee Shop
Harold is nagging Lou about Merridy again. Lou admits that he's attracted to Merridy, and Harold says it's time Lou took his advice - bite the bullet and tell Merridy how he feels.
Tess's
Toadie has come around to borrow a video. Tess asks how his "friend" with the crush is getting on. Toadie says that the more his friend and this girl hang out, the more he likes her. He doesn't know how to find out if she likes him too. However, Brendan interrupts again to give Tess some flowers!
Toadie departs and Brendan suggests that he and Tess open some champagne.

Dee is telling Joel that they should go out to a Moroccan place in Anson's corner. Joel doesn't seem keen though - he's confused as to where they stand. He says he wants a proper relationship, but Dee's not ready for that given everything that's happened between them. She suggests that they go out another night instead.
Tess's
Brendan tells Tess that he loves her and loves being married to her - he wants them to be together again. Tess smiles.
