Ruth tells Joel that his knee is inflamed. Joel says he's taking part in a big triathlon next month and he intends to win, Ruth says he's got to be joking but Joel says that nothing's going to stop him. Ruth tells Joel he'll end up in surgery if he puts any more pressure on his knee, but she can't get through to him just how much damage he could inflict if he takes part in the triathlon. She says she's seen plenty of older men regretting actions like this, but Joel says he's happy to be one of those men. Ruth talks to Drew about it later (whatever happened to patient confidentiality - doesn't that exist with physios?) and asks him to help her talk sense into Joel. Lou plans to talk Sarah and Peter out of their low-key wedding and make it a full scale affair - with Lolly as a flower girl! The happy couple are adamant that a low-key affair is what they want though and not even a hens night or bucks night is on the cards. Lou makes it clear to the pair that he is taking over their plans and finds out that they really haven't got very much organised at all yet! Sarah lets slip that she does actually want a big wedding, which is the worst thing to say to Lou! Sarah plans to see Pippa about her wedding dress so that she can get it finished, but finds out that she's away in Bali for a month. Drew tells Lou later that he's found a good church for the wedding. Phil finds out that he's been nominated to become a member of the exclusive Eden Hills club by Gordon Collins (his demanding, wealthy new client) and Lou says he would love to join the club and has been on the so-called waiting list for years. Lou talks to Drew and tells him that he finds it a bit out of order that Phil's getting in because he's friends with a member. Phil gets back from his visit to the club and has had a thoroughly good time, but Ruth is not so pleased when she hears that it's gentlemen only! The Erinsborough News call Libby and ask her to do an article about Peter and Sarah's marriage as a follow-up to her article about Peter's missionary work. She doesn't want to do it and decides to have it out with her editor. She manages to work it so that she writes another article about Peter with some wedding snaps and info included. Libby organises to meet Sarah and Peter at Number 30, but when she arrives Peter has been delayed and she has to talk to Sarah. It is suitably icy of course! Peter arrives and they start the interview, his Mum calls in the middle though and leaves Libby and Sarah to have another chat. It starts out as friendly, with Libby asking Sarah why the wedding was really called off and then back on again. Sarah says that sometimes what you want is staring you right in the face but everyone misses the blindingly obvious - including Libby. Sarah goes on to tell Libby that she's a fool not to realise that Drew's in love with her and that she's in love with him. |
