Anne introduces Vincenzo to Bill, who appears to be quite jealous -after Vincenzo leaves he interrogates Anne about the kiss and walks out in a huff when Ruth and Phil arrive home. The next day, at the Coffee Shop, Bill discusses the kiss with Karl who tries to talk some sense into him. Bill does eventually calm down!

It's Phil's birthday and Hannah arrives home from France with a new image. Paul pops in to see her before school and acts very uncomfortably -leaving Hannah wondering what's going on. However, she is still ultra-excited about her France trip and can't stop talking about it!

Philip walks into the surgery where Karl is storing his birthday present from Ruth - a nice, framed picture. Luckily, Karl manages to prevent Phil from turning in the direction of the picture and gets him out the door as quickly as possible! Later that evening, Phil enjoys his birthday with his family, Bill and Vincenzo doing the cooking. Ruth arrives a little late and acts very strangely for the rest of the evening. Where had she been? When Phil gives a short speech, he welcomes home Hannah... but she has fallen fast asleep!

The next morning, Karl meets Phil in Ramsay Street and asks how last night went - he says it was great but Ruth was a bit distracted. He asked Karl if he's noticed her acting strangely lately, Karl says that he has a bit but makes an excuse for her. Phil asks how Pinhead is and Karl says he's improving by the day, but they should probably be more worried about Toadfish as the police think he's the hit-and-run driver. Phil remembers that he saw Toadie and Pinhead arguing just before the accident and Toadfish then following him in his car.

Tad finds out that Paul didn't send the letter to Hannah about him dropping her for Jade. At school, Jade reminds Paul about going to the movies with her but he cancels after suddenly feeling very guilty about Hannah. Tad tells Paul that he's got to make a choice between Jade and Hannah because he can't have it both ways - and he could always crack on to Hannah himself!

Jade sees Hannah at school and tells her how pleased she is because she's being so mature over the letter that Paul wrote her. Hannah asks what she's talking about and Jade tells her that Paul wrote her a letter to say that they're together now. Paul and Tad arrive just as Jade says it. Hannah walks off.
