No.28
Susan is cleaning madly before she's even had breakfast. Libby asks Susan why she's crying. Susan says she doesn't need a reason.
SUSAN: I'm surprised you didn't wait up for me, like your brother.
LIBBY: Unlike my brother, I'm not expecting any happily- ever- afters.
SUSAN: No. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap. It's just...some mornings it's not easy. Guess I haven't got used to sleeping alone. I wake up in the morning, you know, and then...I remember. You don't want to hear this.
LIBBY: I don't mind.
SUSAN: It's really silly the things you miss. When we woke up in the morning, we used to just...lie there. And sometimes we'd talk. And sometimes we wouldn't say anything. But always our feet would be all tangled up. And this morning I woke up and I moved my feet over to find his feet and they weren't there.
She starts to sob and Libby comforts her.
SUSAN: This isn't the way I thought my life would go. I don't want this!

No.28
Libby is there when Billy comes to pick up the stuff for Amy. Libby asks Billy if he can come home for dinner, but he's going out with Karl.
LIBBY: How can you spend time with him after everything he's done?! You do know that mum was crying again this morning?
BILLY: Why?
LIBBY: I'll give you three guesses.
BILLY: Can we not turn this into a guessing game?! Just tell me, exactly.
LIBBY: Well, mum was handling things pretty well until that dinner with him last night, and now it's like she's back to square one. She was cleaning the windows when I got up this morning.
BILLY: Well, maybe they needed it.
LIBBY: No, they didn't.
BILLY: What, you expect her not to cry again, ever?! Maybe she feels bad about not being with Dad, is that so bad? Maybe she wants to get back with him.
LIBBY: Of course she doesn't.
BILLY:(irritated) Who gave you second sight?
LIBBY: You're being ridiculous. Can't you see that you spending time with Dad is making things worse?
BILLY: Well, I know one thing. You hating Dad must be just as hard for Mum to deal with as me spending time with him. So have a think about that before you have another go at me, OK?
Coffee Shop
Phil comes in and has a chat with Susan about the foxtrot...apparently some of the parents think they should have a doctor on hand. Phil asks her how she feels about asking Karl. Billy shrugs.
KARL: You've got your mother's eyes, you know that?
BILLY: Have I?
KARL: OK, well, uh, let's get this show on the road. Don't you want to drive?
