- Toadie sees Karen kissing Nick.
Lance and Amy say hi to Ruth while she's sorting through the washing. Ruth lectures Lance on the state of his bedroom and he says it's too small but it'll be better once they move in with Phil. Ruth tells Lance to hang on, they haven't discussed where they are going to live and haven't even discussed the wedding yet. Phil arrives and Lance brings up the subject of living arrangements, saying that since Phil's house is bigger than theirs it would only be logical for them to move in with Phil.
PHIL: It would make more sense, yeah.
RUTH: Making sense is one thing, how you feel about it is another and I think I'm entitled to have a say in this. Just because I don't own this place doesn't mean I don't live here.
Lance and Amy make a quick exit and Phil sits down with Ruth, inviting her out later. She stops him as she wants to discuss this issue first, and wants them to make a carefully planned decision.
Nick tells Toadie that Karen kissed him and if it bothers him then Toadie should do something about it.
TOADIE: Maybe I should just give up. It's obvious that she wants you.
NICK: But I don't want her. She thinks I'm boring, it's your personality she's crazy about.
Nick tells Toadie that Karen is coming along later to watch the radio show. Toadie is angry as Nick was supposed to tell her not to come, but Nick forgot as he was in shock when she kissed him. Toadie thinks Nick enjoyed it, but Nick assures him that even if he did like Karen, which he doesn't, he wouldn't stab Toadie in the back.
Phil doesn't understand why Ruth is against moving in with him and thinks that Lance is right that it makes more sense for the kids to move into his house. Ruth says she likes it here and thinks they could all move in here and they could rent out Phil's house, it's bigger so they'd get more rent. Phil says he needs space as he works from home. Phil and Ruth laugh as they playfully argue. Ruth says all the kids will be out and she'll be visiting clients so he'll have loads of space, he'll be lonely. They continue to disagree about which house to live in when there is a knock at the door. Geoff arrives to see Ben and Ruth sends him through to Ben's room. Ruth begins to playfully argue again when Phil hugs her and pulls her down onto the sofa with him.
Nick is complaining about Toadie's plan to leave him to explain everything to Karen, until he sees Karen arriving at the station. They rush towards Toadie's booth, Toadie asks his receptionist (Sally) not to let any chicks through, especially ones called Karen. After they run off, Karen arrives and asks Sally if she can see Toadie, he's expecting her. Sally asks if she's Karen, before telling her that Toadie can't see any visitors for her. Karen works out that Toadie had said not to let her in and storms off.
Phil and Ruth are looking at Phil's desk, Phil says that he needs this exact desk for his work.
RUTH: But it won't fit in my house.
They realise that Phil's furniture won't fit in either and they'll end up having two of everything. They haven't thought about a lot of things, like the exact date of the wedding, how many guests, and whether Ruth will keep or change her surname. They decide they need to sit down and work out the logistics of the marriage.
Hannah arrives with Holly, Holly managed to get out again. Phil thinks something must be upsetting her.
Ben gets off the phone with Lou. He sits down and joins Geoff who is impressed with Ben's progress and says he'll be running a half- marathon next year. Ben says he'll do a full marathon. Geoff is pleased that he's come down to visit Ben, before admitting to Ben that he's planning on leaving as it's time for him to get back to work. Ben is gutted, when Geoff suggests that Ben come back with him.
Karen calls Toadie on his show, asking why he got his receptionist to do his dirty work for him. He takes her off the air and puts a record on. Toadie realises he's in trouble and Nick offers to give Toadie some space while he breaks the news to her. Nick leaves. Toadie speaks to Karen off- air this time, who wants to know what's going on. As they talk, Karen sees Nick leaving the station and works it out, smiling and waving at Nick as she talks to Toadie.
Karl is leaving for work when he bumps into Susan as she arrives home. He greets her, but is surprised as she wasn't due back until the weekend. She tells Karl that she's back for an interview for a job. Karl asks if it is for a job closer to home, but Susan won't tell him anything as she doesn't want to jinx it.
Phil and Ruth return, telling Geoff and Ben that they haven't been able to solve their problems. They're going to have to have a garage sale. Geoff tells them that he's leaving tomorrow morning and he's asked Ben to come back with him, if that's okay. Ben says it isn't to live, just for a visit. Ruth says it's fine if that's what he wants.
Karen is in the corridors, still talking to Toadie on the phone. She wants to keep talking to him while he does his show. Toadie says he wants to tell her something but then changes his mind about it. He goes back on- air to introduce the next song, but when he goes back to talk to Karen on the phone, she knocks on the window, clearly seeing the real Toadie.
Hannah and Phil talk about the option of them moving into Ruth's. Hannah doesn't want to leave their home as their house is bigger and she hates the idea of renting it out to total strangers.
Phil answers the door to Ruth. He asks her if she's been thrown by Ben's news. Ruth says it'll be good for Ben and Geoff to spend time together but she's worried that he won't come back and starts crying. Phil says it isn't selfish to be upset about it. Ruth thanks him.

Toadie and Nick explain themselves to Karen. She says they must have thought she was an idiot and been laughing about her behind her back but Toadie assures her it wasn't like that. Toadie really likes her. Karen says she knew about them both for ages and gave them so many chances to fess up but they were both too weak.
KAREN: Oh and what's even more insulting is that you thought I would fall for that pathetic excuse for an accent.
Ben asks Ruth if she's okay, if she's upset about Geoff asking him to go away with him. Ruth says it was a surprise, she was thrown but not upset. Ben wants her advice of what to do. Ruth says if he goes, she'll miss him a lot but she wouldn't try to stop him. She thinks it'll be a good opportunity to get to know Geoff and perhaps be as close to him as Ben is to her. Ruth says if he wants to go, it's fine with her. Ben says he hasn't decided, but he's meeting Geoff for dinner tonight and invites Ruth to join them. Geoff is leaving tomorrow morning so it's like a last family get- together. Ruth hugs Ben and says she'd love to come.
The Coffee Shop
Amy begs Lance to ask Ruth if she'll let Lance stay with her while Amy's parents are away but Lance knows Ruth won't let him. Amy suggests she stay with him at his house. Lance says Ruth will probably object as the last time Amy stayed, Ruth caught them pashing in the kitchen at 3am.
AMY: Yes but we wouldn't be dumb enough to get caught this time.
LANCE: Amy, if you stay mum will be watching us like a hawk.
AMY: Yes but she wouldn't be there all the time.
Amy tells Lance to play on Ruth's sympathy, by telling her about poor little Amy alone in a house all by herself while her mum's away. Lance decides to give it a go.
Karl arrives for dinner, apologises to Susan for running late. Karl asks how the interview went, Susan says it went well and she thinks they liked her. She's got another interview the day after tomorrow. Karl is pleased, and asks if this is a teaching position. Susan nods and quickly changes the subject by reading the menu while Karl questions her.
Ben and Ruth join Geoff for dinner. Geoff can't think of two nicer people to spend his last night in Erinsborough with. Geoff pours them drinks and he makes a toast to Ben and Ruth, two wonderful people that he's very lucky to have in his life.
Toadie tells Nick he didn't think his accent was that bad. Nick says it was terrible. He should have been straight with Karen from the start. Toadie says Karen was his soulmate, but Nick says she was playing them for idiots. Toadie says he needed a little more time to win her over. He thinks they really clicked on the phone and she might come around.
NICK: Come around, maybe to bury an axe in your head and I can't say I blame her.
Nick says Karen hates his guts too and he didn't want to get involved in the first place.
TOADIE: So mate, that kiss. What was it like? Come on, indulge me, I'm never going to find out am I?
NICK: You have got serious problems.
Toadie tries out his fake accent again and doesn't think it's that bad.
Lance and Amy return home to an empty house, wondering where everyone is. He thinks it's probably best that he wait until tomorrow to ask her, his mum usually likes time to think about things and mull them over. Lance suggests that Amy isn't there when he ask, he doesn't want Ruth to feel that they're putting pressure on her as she'll be more likely to say no. He'll take things slowly. Amy puts her arms around him and says if he can convince Ruth to let her stay then they can spend much more alone time together. Lance looks nervous as Amy kisses him.
