Recap
- Toadie sees Karen kissing Nick.
Number 32
Lance and Amy say hi to Ruth while she's sorting through the washing. Ruth lectures Lance on the state of his bedroom and he says it's too small but it'll be better once they move in with Phil. Ruth tells Lance to hang on, they haven't discussed where they are going to live and haven't even discussed the wedding yet. Phil arrives and Lance brings up the subject of living arrangements, saying that since Phil's house is bigger than theirs it would only be logical for them to move in with Phil.
PHIL: It would make more sense, yeah.
RUTH: Making sense is one thing, how you feel about it is another and I think I'm entitled to have a say in this. Just because I don't own this place doesn't mean I don't live here.
Lance and Amy make a quick exit and Phil sits down with Ruth, inviting her out later. She stops him as she wants to discuss this issue first, and wants them to make a carefully planned decision.
Number 30
Nick tells Toadie that Karen kissed him and if it bothers him then Toadie should do something about it.
TOADIE: Maybe I should just give up. It's obvious that she wants you.
NICK: But I don't want her. She thinks I'm boring, it's your personality she's crazy about.
Nick tells Toadie that Karen is coming along later to watch the radio show. Toadie is angry as Nick was supposed to tell her not to come, but Nick forgot as he was in shock when she kissed him. Toadie thinks Nick enjoyed it, but Nick assures him that even if he did like Karen, which he doesn't, he wouldn't stab Toadie in the back.
Number 32
Phil doesn't understand why Ruth is against moving in with him and thinks that Lance is right that it makes more sense for the kids to move into his house. Ruth says she likes it here and thinks they could all move in here and they could rent out Phil's house, it's bigger so they'd get more rent. Phil says he needs space as he works from home. Phil and Ruth laugh as they playfully argue. Ruth says all the kids will be out and she'll be visiting clients so he'll have loads of space, he'll be lonely. They continue to disagree about which house to live in when there is a knock at the door. Geoff arrives to see Ben and Ruth sends him through to Ben's room. Ruth begins to playfully argue again when Phil hugs her and pulls her down onto the sofa with him.

They haven't thought about a lot of things, like the exact date of the wedding, how many guests, and whether Ruth will keep or change her surname. They decide they need to sit down and work out the logistics of the marriage.

Toadie and Nick explain themselves to Karen. She says they must have thought she was an idiot and been laughing about her behind her back but Toadie assures her it wasn't like that. Toadie really likes her. Karen says she knew about them both for ages and gave them so many chances to fess up but they were both too weak.

Amy begs Lance to ask Ruth if she'll let Lance stay with her while Amy's parents are away but Lance knows Ruth won't let him. Amy suggests she stay with him at his house. Lance says Ruth will probably object as the last time Amy stayed, Ruth caught them pashing in the kitchen at 3am.
AMY: Yes but we wouldn't be dumb enough to get caught this time.
LANCE: Amy, if you stay mum will be watching us like a hawk.
AMY: Yes but she wouldn't be there all the time.
Amy tells Lance to play on Ruth's sympathy, by telling her about poor little Amy alone in a house all by herself while her mum's away. Lance decides to give it a go.

Number 30
Toadie tells Nick he didn't think his accent was that bad. Nick says it was terrible. He should have been straight with Karen from the start. Toadie says Karen was his soulmate, but Nick says she was playing them for idiots. Toadie says he needed a little more time to win her over. He thinks they really clicked on the phone and she might come around.
NICK: Come around, maybe to bury an axe in your head and I can't say I blame her.
Nick says Karen hates his guts too and he didn't want to get involved in the first place.
TOADIE: So mate, that kiss. What was it like? Come on, indulge me, I'm never going to find out am I?
NICK: You have got serious problems.
Toadie tries out his fake accent again and doesn't think it's that bad.

Amy puts her arms around him and says if he can convince Ruth to let her stay then they can spend much more alone time together. Lance looks nervous as Amy kisses him.
