Recap
- Mal is in hospital with a crushed windpipe.
- Catherine and Sarah don't like their new housemate, Vince.
- Libby tells Darren she loves him. He says he loves her too but he needs some time to think about where they are.
Mal's hospital room
Libby is visiting Malcolm - he can't talk because of the sore windpipe, so Libby tells him all about the party they are planning to welcome them home.
Catherine comes in to see him and gives him a bit of a pash. Libby leaves them on their own so Catherine can give Mal a present - a large box of chocolates. But he's already got a huge box!
Lou's
Darren is babysitting Lolly when Libby comes round. She tells him that they need to talk. Darren says he's not sure about them yet. Libby says if it's that hard a decision, the decision is already made. She won't put her life on hold indefinitely. Darren says he doesn't know if he can be a part of Libby's future. Libby says she loves him, but either he's her boyfriend or he isn't.
Mal's hospital room
Cath is lying on Mal's bed with him. She doesn't want to go home to the creepy housemate. She wants to get rid of him, but the other housemates won't support her becaues they're wimps.
No.30
Vince is on an exercise machine. Sarah and Jo are sick of the mess he leaves around. He offers to help them exercise and they are very unimpressed.
Catherine comes in as Vince is going off to his shower. Sarah and Jo say they have to ask him to move out. Catherine says she'll do it as long as they back her up.
Ramsay Street
Anne tells Billy that she saw Toadie leaving for Colac without him. Billy says he has major plans for the holiday - he wants to step out of Toadie's shadow.
No.30
Jo, Catherine and Sarah confront Vince. Catherine tells him that they've agreed they want him to move out. Vince argues that he'll get along with anyone. Catherine says he is generally offensive and they don't feel comfortable with him in the house. Vince refuses to move out - it's Luke's lease and he's only leaving is Luke says so.
Kennedys
Mal has arrived home, but he still can't talk. Billy asks Libby to sign his consent form to go bungee jumping(!) The phone rings and Libby takes a message.
BILLY: I have to prove to myself that I can push myself to the edge!
LIBBY: Your brother's just come back from the edge, I don't think he recommends it!
Anne agrees with Libby - Billy isn't doing a bungee jump for the right reasons.
Libby refuses to sign Billy's form, she has to go and do a job. But he talks her round. She says he'll come to his senses when he gets out to the jump venue.
No.30
Jo and Sarah are moaning about Vince leering at them. Catherine says there's no point complaining now - they'll just have to wait until Luke gets back.
Bungee Jump venue
It is a very, very long way up. It makes me have vertigo just watching it on a TV screen. Billy, Libby and Anne are thinking the same as me. Billy says he's going to do it. He asks Libby to sign the form. She reluctantly agrees.
LIBBY: OK, alright. Who am I to stand in the way of male stupidity?!
She goes into the office to sign the form. She tells Billy not to tell Karl and Susan.
Coffee Shop
Libby is in the Coffee Shop with Darren (some time must have passed since she left the bungee jump place!) Darren says that he doesn't want to lost her. He just thought it would be easier now that later. Libby says as long as they love each other, that's all that counts. Darren says he can't face life without her, even though he thinks she'll meet other blokes at uni. But until it happens, he's not going to worry about it. They agree to put their argument behind them.
Darren suggests that they spend the evening together, but Libby has to have dinner with someone for the newspaper. It's only at the pub though, so Libby invites him along.
Bungee Jump venue
Billy has had elastic tied to his feet. He is in a cab being raised up the crane while Anne looks on worriedly from below.
Billy stands on the edge of the platform. He looks down and then moves back again. He tells the owner that he can't do it and they take him back down.
No.30
Vince answers the phone to Luke. Catherine tries to get the phone off him but he refuses and hangs up. Apparently Danni is on the mend, but he's going to stay on with her until she's fully recovered.
Bungee Jump venue
Billy feels silly despite Anne's reassurances. Anne says it's all to do with all he feels about himself - he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.
BILLY: You're right. It's all to do with how I feel about myself. I'm doing it. I'm doing the jump.
He gets up and goes back up the crane. At the top he closes his eyes and leaps off the platform.
BILLY: BUNGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He laughs loudly as he hangs upside down.
BILLY: I did it! I did it!
The Pub
Libby is interviewing a man for the paper while Darren tries to keep up.
Kennedys
Anne and Billy are back - she can't believe he actually did it, she nearly had heart failure! Billy is stoked and says maybe skydiving would be even better.
ANNE:(to Mal) We've created a monster!
No.30
Vince has messed up the living room again. A newsflash comes on the news that a convenience store in Erinsborough has been held up by two armed men who are now on the run. Catherine suggests they should close the doors and windows. Just then there is a crash from round the back of the house. Vince looks rather scared. There's more noise, so Catherine goes to have a look.
The Pub
Libby has finished her interview. Darren asks how his wife copes with his level of work, but the man says that he's twice divorced: he's married to his work. The man gives Darren a copy of his book. Darren looks rather overwhelmed. When the man has gone, he says he's not jealous of academic types anymore! Libby says he's got time for his own life and his stunningly gorgeous girlfriend!
No.30
Catherine has disappeared out the back. Jo and Sarah say they should go and have a look, but Vince is a coward. Catherine comes back in and roars to scare them - apparently it was just possums. They laugh at Vince for being wet.
When Vince has stalked off to bed, Catherine gets a look on her face.
CATHERINE: I've just had an idea that might remove the Vince factor permanently.
