Karl is telling his Dad that he had a chat with Ron's wife which wasn't totally pleasant. Joy was aware Ron had had a child before he married her. Joy considered it unwise to contact Ron due to his health might worsen. Karl thinks he might need to reconsider if Ron is so ill. Karl rings off and tells Susan that Tom isn't able to give them more help. Susan thinks that Tom seems to be coping well with this. She thinks that Karl contacting Ron probably makes Ron nervous. Karl is grateful to have a great Dad. Billy chips in with not having a choice about parents! Karl wants to know when he appeared, he's just come out of his room. They claim to just be discussing parents. They all start play fighting.

Coffee Shop
Stonie notices a notice on the noticeboard and asks Toadie about it. It's about a basketball tournament being organised and he wants to organise a team to enter. Toadie isn't so enthralled. Stonie points out it's for boys and girls which interests Toadie! Angie comes along to chivvy Toadie along.

Stonie when asked explains what's happening. She reminds him he will be living in Tasmania. Angie doesn't think it's such a great idea. He tries to explain but she keeps going on and on. When she suggests the possibility of him marrying Catherine, he vetoes the suggestion. She wants him to not rush into this and weigh up the pros and cons. He tells her to stop going on, she isn't impressed.

Toadie comes back in, Stonie isn't impressed that Toadie told Angie about Tassie. Toadie points out that Angie would find out soon anyway. Stonie isn't impressed it was so soon!

No.28
It's now the next morning. Susan is folding the laundry when Toadie arrives looking for Billy. Susan tells him that Libby wants her skateboarding video back. Toadie isn't impressed that Billy dobbed him in but Billy says he didn't have a choice. Billy couldn't admit they ruined the video but Toadie has come up with a plan, they're going to come up with a better video! Billy isn't impressed by this idea but Toadie thinks it's great. He thinks Libby will be grateful! They go to head out but Susan reminds Billy he's grounded. Toadie is going to head off by himself. Billy thinks the situation is unfair, Susan has no sympathy. Libby isn't grounded as well because Billy lied and promised he wasn't lying.

Coffee Shop
Hannah is trying to get Stonie to guess her milkshake order. He isn't playing along though and it turns out to be banana. Hannah's convinced Debbie would have guessed it quicker but has no idea if Debbie is still mad at Stonie. Stonie tries convincing Hannah to say nice things about him but Hannah is going on about Debbie being psychic. Stonie doesn't look so convinced and thinks it's fake. Hannah thinks if it's down to luck, luck must happen a lot! Stonie thinks Hannah is too quick to believe Debbie.

Karl is distracted looking for Billy, he's weeding in the garden. Karl isn't convinced it's true! Susan thinks he's trying to find a way to stop being grounded. Karl admits Libby and Darren are on his mind. Susan reminds him that it's her 18th birthday tomorrow and old enough to make decisions herself. Susan trusts her though.

SUSAN: Libby's rarely given us reason to be anything but proud.

The phone rings, Susan goes out to help Billy. Karl answers the phone. After confirming Karl's identity the caller identifies himself as his father Ron Davies- Smythe. The chat continues, Karl is surprised as Joy reported Ron didn't want to contact Karl. Ron agrees that she thought Ron might be upset over this, he's got a dicky ticker. Ron is ringing from work and wants Karl to come and see him there. Karl would be happy to meet Ron and Ron suggests they meet at 3 PM today. Karl agrees to do this. Karl tells Ron about his children. Karl tells Ron he hasn't told the children about Ron yet, Billy has wandered in, unknown to Karl. Ron suggests that Karl tells them. Ron needs to talk to someone so asks Karl to hold.

Billy wants to know what's going on. Karl denies anything is going on and Billy wants the truth and isn't impressed he's been grounded for lying! Karl takes down Ron's address.

No.26
Toadie arrives and invites Hannah to be the star of a new skateboarding video! Hannah is happy until she discovers Toadie is making the video. Toadie is convinced it's a great idea. Toadie admits to deleting the old video by mistake which shocks Hannah. Hannah doesn't think Libby will be impressed as it was for her Media Studies course. Toadie wants to sort this out and plans to learn as he goes along!

Coffee Shop
As Debbie arrives Stonie hides out with Angie in the kitchen. Stonie wants Angie to serve Debbie but Angie is busy, Stonie offers to swap duties. Angie complies but looks strangely at Toadie. It turns out Debbie has come to see Stonie, Angie claims Stonie has gone out. Debbie agrees to come back later. Angie comes back and wants to know what's happening. Stonie denies there is anything. Stonie admits to kissing Debbie a few nights ago.

ANGIE: No red blooded male ever kisses an attractive female accidentally.

Stonie tells her it's the truth. Debbie wasn't impressed so Stonie's staying out of her way. Angie is surprised that Debbie wasn't impressed. Angie thinks that Stonie's got the hots for Debbie. Stonie brushes her off. Angie's excited as he's convinced Stonie won't be joining Catherine in Tasmania. Angie feigns dismay over this but Stonie isn't fooled. When Stonie goes out of the kitchen Angie jumps for joy!

Billy isn't happy that Karl's hiding something from him and he wants to know the truth. Billy is convinced Susan knows the truth and explains what he already knows.

BILLY: In this family only the kids get in trouble for lying!

Susan suggests that it's Karl's business to keep secret not Billy's. Susan admits something is happening but doesn't think she should be the one to spill the beans. Billy isn't impressed and Susan asks for him to be patient. Karl will eventually tell him the truth. Billy agrees and suggests an exchange for good behaviour in return! Susan agrees that the grounding will finish at midnight.

Ramsay Street
Toadie is ready to film Hannah on her skateboard. Toadie is taking a while and Hannah wants him to hurry. Hannah rides along the pavement, Toadie wants more of a trick. Hannah has taken a long time to master this and isn't Casper! Hannah challenges Toadie to try so he agrees.

TOADIE: Who needs Casper?

Even though a confident Toadie hasn't skateboarded before he claims he'll be ok as he's done rollerblading. Hannah records him, he goes along and then falls head over heels! Hannah laughs at him which Toadie isn't impressed about. Hannah points out she recorded him landing in doggy poo!

Minesweeper
Karl walks towards a ship and spots a man in waterproof coat and hat onboard. The man tentatively asks if he's Karl, Karl realises this is probably Ron. He asks Karl to request permission to come aboard, he does and it is granted. Ron blows a whistle around his neck.

Toadie and Hannah arrive, Toadie asks Billy for paper towels. Billy asks for an update and Toadie shushes him. Billy reports that Karl's out and Susan's in the garden. Toadie isn't impressed how it went but Hannah likens it to a comedy! They switch the video on. Billy thinks that Hannah looks like she's falling off. Billy isn't impressed either at Toadie's attempt and points out they don't compare to Casper's tricks. Hannah suggests they're honest about this. Billy points out that it's not dishonest to hide the truth. Billy thinks it's possible to right this as he will soon be ungrounded. Billy wants to try this in the morning as it's Libby's birthday tomorrow. Billy isn't so impressed at the idea of a present for Libby!

Minesweeper
Ron reports that the ship was built in 1942 and it's a Minesweeper. Karl admits to never attempting to coil a rope. Ron has wondered about Karl over the years. He searched for Karl's name but never found it. Ron was a Superintendent in the Police. He has changed jobs as he wanted to fulfil a dream. What he really wanted to do was be a Ship's Captain. His parents made him go into the Police instead. He retired after 43 years with a payout. Joy won't let him launch so he isn't able to sail. He's put his foot down after being told by others what to do. He decided to become a volunteer Curator on this ship.

RON: The sea is a wonderful mistress!

They cross from port to starboard on the ship. Ron hopes Karl's job doesn't involve conformity and discipline! Ron wanted his son to actually get to follow his dreams.

Ramsay Street
Stonie is taunting Toadie about basketball player positions as he shoots hoops. Toadie is willing to give it a go. Stonie points out he doesn't have much luck when he tries to score with the ladies!

Debbie comes over, notes he hasn't been around. He brushes it off and claims to be out when she came to the Coffee Shop. He claims not to have a problem with her. He apologises for kissing her and claiming to be a client. She thought that was the true reason! She points out the kiss wasn't meaningful and wants to move on. He agrees and points out her psychic powers would help her to see if their relationship was worth a go! Debbie is getting fed up of all this. She claims psychic powers are as likely as having her eyes closed as she shoots a basket. He gives her the chance and she actually does it! Debbie just looks bemused and tells Stonie not to say anything!

Minesweeper
Karl is telling Ron about his job and family. He admits he doesn't have an exciting life. Ron thinks it's not a small achievement and agrees he has achieved as well. Karl agrees this is all a surprise. Ron is pleased he came to meet him and they shake hands. There's a bit of an awkward silence then Ron wants to hear more about Karl's children. Karl produces some photos. Ron is impressed and thinks they must be smart. Karl remarks that Libby will be 18 the next day. Ron wants to get Libby a present but Karl tries to tell him he doesn't need to. Ron insists.

RON: Not every day you discover you have three grandchildren you know.

Ron doesn't have a clue what to buy her and guesses Libby isn't keen on boats. Ron decides he is going to arrive at the house tomorrow as Libby's birthday present!
