Recap
Brett lets slip to Cheryl that Lou is giving him some money for his 18th birthday.
Mal and Danni get it on.
The Pub
Cheryl is ranting at Lou about the money - she says Lou has to go back to the original plan of giving Brett a car. Cheryl shouts at Lou that she bets he wouldn't be so keen to endanger one of his own children's lives. Lou takes great offence and walks out. Brett and Marlene follow.
CHERYL: You aren't going!
BRETT: Oh, shut up.
Lou and Cheryl's
Danni and Mal are trying to study but Mal is totally distracted and rather gooey-eyed (bleurrrgh!!) He is thinking about their afternoon of passion and Danni tells Mal he was fantastic.
Mal tries to start something up with Danni again, but she suddenly remembers she has to go and see Ren. Mal thinks he'd better keep a low profile for a while in case Cheryl reads his mind(!)
Coffee Shop
Luke takes Mark and Lucy's order - Lucy wants a bottle of wine, but the Coffee Shop is unlicensed. Mark thinks Lucy is an alcoholic, but Lucy says she just got into the habit of having wine with a meal when she was in Europe. Mark thinks she should get out of the habit.
No.30
Ren and Danni are talking business. Ren tells Danni that Kingston has signed all the assets of the business over to her. She can't believe she was so naive and gullible over Kingston. Danni tells Ren that falling in love isn't a crime, but Ren is concerned at having being involved in the poor working conditions at the factory. She gives Danni her new contract and they agree to put the past behind them.
The Mall
Mal and Danni are shopping. Mal has bought Danni a present - sexy underwear. It turns out that Danni has bought exactly the same underwear!
Coffee Shop
Lou is relating the Brett/Cheryl situation to Phil and Jen. Jen thinks that sailing can be very dangerous, but Lou thinks the rewards far outweigh the disadvantages. Jen suggests Lou tries to see it from Cheryl's side a bit - she's scared to death for Brett.
The Pub
Cheryl is telling Lucy that she's had enough to drink. Lucy says that her parents and her big sister are dead and she can do whatever she wants. She says she'll go to another pub!
No.30
Mark comes in to find Ren crying. She's reported Kingston to the police and he's going to be charged. She says she feels like Judas, but Mark says it's not a very good comparison - Ren did the right thing.
Luke comes in and tells Mark and Ren that he thinks Lucy is wild - he saw her in a pub in Eden Hills all over some guy. Mark gets angry with Luke and says that Luke should have rescued Lucy. Luke protests that Lucy isn't his responsibility.
Lou and Cheryl's
Lou comes in to find Cheryl sitting sulking. Lou says her being silent will give him a chance to get a few things off his chest(!) Lou says that Cheryl's kids mean a bucketload to him. He understands that Cheryl is worried about Brett. Cheryl thinks Brett is going the same way as Darren - she held too tightly to him, and she doesn't want to make the same mistake with Brett. She's decided to let Brett go.
No.24
Marlene and Danni are blowing up balloons for Brett's 18th birthday. Marlene wants Danni to be careful - she shouldn't go for short-term gain. She explains that the new contract is long-term thing and she trusts Ren.
Lou and Cheryl's the following morning
Lou has given Brett a cheque. Brett is very pleased that Cheryl has come round to the sailing round the world idea. Cheryl tells Brett that she's still terrified for him, but she understands that it's something that he has to do. She wants Brett to thoroughly study up on what lies ahead. He promises that he will. She suggests going down to the Coffee Shop for a birthday cup of coffee.
Coffee Shop (outside)
Cheryl and Brett arrive at the coffee shop to find a surprise party with all the Ramsay Street residents. Brett is chuffed to bits.
Brett opens his parents as Cheryl chats to Mal. He is very uncomfortable and makes a sharp exit! Danni tells Mal quietly that they should sneak inside for a quick encounter (yuk!)
Martins
Phil tells Jen that Lucy didn't come home last night, but Jen is unconcerned. Phil tells Jen that he loves her and would like her to stay more often. Jen backs off a bit, but Phil explains that he doesn't want a Julie replacement - he loves Jen. Jen says that Julie will always be there. Phil tries to convince her but then apologises for pushing her. Jen doesn't want to disturb the status quo at the moment.
Coffee Shop (outside)
Brett blows out the candles on his cake and makes a speech to the guests. Phil skulks at the back looking for Lucy. He tells Mark that he's worried about her. Mark tells Ren that he's going to look for Lucy - he's got a really bad feeling about her.
As Brett finishes his speech, everyone claps. Ren follows Mark off.
Coffee Shop (inside)
Mal and Danni are pashing in the Coffee Shop kitchen when Luke comes in. He tells them off - it's a Coffee Shop, not a cheap motel! He tells them not to do it again.
Lassiter's Lake
Ren is trying to reason with Mark - she points out that Mark has no means to track Lucy down by. Mark says he feels responsible for Lucy - she confides in him and needs someone to look after her. Ren clearly thinks that Mark has the hots for Lucy. She tells Mark that maybe he's the one fooling himself.
